We had a terrible experience on June 9th. The first bus we tried to get on was already so full we couldn’t even squeeze in. The second one was just as overcrowded. When we finally got off, we were asked to show our tickets — which we had bought in advance. But apparently that wasn’t enough, because the tickets also had to be activated on the bus using a QR code. We could clearly prove we had paid, but nowhere was it properly explained what we were supposed to do — unless it was hidden somewhere in Italian. The conductor was completely unsympathetic and rude and let us pay 106 euros. Thanks for ruining our holiday.

Absolutely terrible way of transport, super slow and no information on what stop you are on. We bought our tickets and was told by bussdriver to go sit down. A few stops later the bussdriver stopped letting people off, next stop police was waiting and gave all the tourist fines as the tickets we had bought where not validated. Felt like a scam, would absolutely not recommended.
