A Hidden Gem with Soul – Our Stay at Coundon Lodge
From the moment we arrived at Coundon Lodge Country House, we knew we’d stumbled upon somewhere special.
Tucked away just two miles from Coventry City Centre, this beautiful Grade II listed Georgian home is surrounded by peaceful countryside. On the day we arrived, the sun was shining, and the whole place had an air of calm that made us exhale in relief the moment we pulled up.
We were greeted warmly by Regina, the owner, who didn’t just say hello — she came out, helped us with our bags, and made us feel instantly at home. That personal touch? You don’t get that everywhere.
As a wheelchair user, I’m always a bit nervous about accessibility, but those fears were put to rest in seconds. The room we stayed in was a downstairs suite — fully accessible, beautifully spacious, with wide doorways. And to top it all off? The room was pink.
Inside the building, every corner was immaculate, smelled amazing, and had such a lovely, homely feel. You could tell care and pride goes into every detail. The bed was so comfy I was out cold within minutes — a rare win for someone like me who normally has a hundred things going on in my brain at night.
This wasn’t just a stay. It felt like a retreat — peaceful, accessible, and full of warmth and charm. If you’re looking for somewhere inclusive, welcoming, and genuinely beautiful inside and out, I can’t recommend Coundon Lodge enough.
