Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. We bought two garage doors and we are having issues with the double door. First they came from Sesame Garage and didn’t do anything about a horrible noise that the door was making a very loud noise going up or down. Well sesame came didn’t do anything said it will go away. They came again didn’t do anything other than just talked about what it can be done, but didn’t do nothing. So another company was sent by Costco Lodi garage. He looked at it and said few thing were installed the wrong way and said he will sent the report to Costco. Today Costco called and said he will send the tech and whatever needed to be done they will paya for it. He emailed my husband and tells him a different story. I called him back and he said now that he spoke with the bank today Lodi people and they told him there’s nothing they can do about the noise. I said I’m not talking about the noise, it was about it was about how some things were installed wrong. Well I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND ANGRY WITH COSTCO AND THESE VENDOR EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR HAS LIFE TIME WARRANTY THEY DIDNT WANT TO HONOR IT, NOT EVEN TO COME AND GET THEIR GARAGE DOOR BECAUSE IM NOT HAPPY WITH THE WAY THEY HANDLE THIS ISSUE.
We paid more than 10000.00 and it was the worse purchased we ever made. Not fair for us, but it was good for them. I will never buy anything from Costco. Before you purchase appliance or windows or garage doors, do your homework real good.

Repeated unprofessional behavior from Claunie P in Costco Nanuet, NY.

I have been a Costco member for 11 years. Most staff members are consistently friendly, helpful, professional and provide excellent service. A few are not as pleasant, and I usually avoid interacting with them. However, I need to report a repeated issue with one employee, Claunie P in Costco Nanuet location which escalated during my visit on Wednesday, 3/4.
From the start of the interaction, she displayed no greeting, no smile, and no basic courtesy. Her attitude was openly irritated and hostile throughout the entire return process. I returned a box of matcha latte drinks that I had taped closed to prevent the items from falling out. When she asked if it was opened, I said yes. She immediately became angry and said, “You shouldn’t close it.” I explained why I taped it, and she snapped back, “No, you should just leave it open, don't do it next time.”
For comparison, when I returned other boxed items in the past, staff simply asked whether the item was opened. When I said yes, they opened the box themselves, checked it, and completed the return without any issue. Her reaction was unnecessary and inconsistent with the service I normally receive at Costco.
When I redeemed my Costco Visa reward and show her my email, she said, “Zoom it,” in a rude, commanding tone. A simple “Please zoom it” would have been appropriate. Her tone was disrespectful and unprofessional. When she put the money on the table and attempted to count it, she said "don't touch it, put it down" with angry tone. Everything wasn't right for her on that day.
This is not the first time she has spoken to me this way. She behaved the same way when she used to work at the register — never friendly, always mean, and consistently lacking basic customer service skills. I have ignored it in the past, but this pattern of behavior is unacceptable. I usually avoid her, but on this particular day I was in a rush and did not have that option. No member should have to brace themselves for disrespect when approaching a customer service counter.

I expect Costco employees to treat members with professionalism and basic courtesy. If she is unable or unwilling to do so, she should not be in a customer-facing role. Whether she was having a bad day or not, it does not excuse repeated unprofessional behavior. I do not deserve to be treated with hostility and her poor service.
At the end of the transaction, I did not thank her because there was nothing to thank her for- and the service she provided did not warrant it. She then responded with a sarcastic “Have a nice day and thank you.” Despite her attitude, I still responded politely with “Have a nice day and thank you” because I refuse to mirror disrespect. Her comment, however, felt insincere and mocking.
I value Costco and expect consistent, respectful service. I am asking that this matter be addressed seriously so that no other member has to experience this type of treatment.

To be clear: for Claunie P, she does not deserve any stars — she deserves zero. My rating reflects the overall store, not her behavior. This repeated behavior from one employee has made my visits unnecessarily stressful, despite 11 years of positive experiences with the rest of the staff.”
I hope she receives additional training, because this is not the first time she has treated me this way.

Love the store, Hate the website

I personally love Costco but hate their website. I wish you did not have to physically go to the store to get help with your account. It is 2026 and they are a colossal company... you would think they would invest more on their online platform. *sigh*

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, rude staff, and management that doesn’t care about the customers whatsoever. I ended my membership with Costco after 12 years after being treated very rudely by Costco employees at two separate stores in a short time frame. I will never shop at a Costco ever again- they suck.

When is a warranty not a warranty

When is a warranty not a warranty, buy an Interstate Battery for your vehicle. "36" month so called warranty for my truck Battery. It went bad in 26 months. The replace battery was marked down a whopping $35 so I still had to pay $100 to replace a battery that failed under so called warranty. Go elsewhere.

Do not use Costco Mail order if you can…

Do not use Costco Mail order if you can choose a different one. The systems are antiquated (you have to call to change an address), you cannot do automatic renewals, you have to affirm every renewal AND they will not call your physician when insurance pre approval is necessary. EVERY OTHER pharmacy I've had does this. It is a pathetic excuse for a pharmacy. The people are very nice but you won't get your medications in a timely fashion w/o a great investment of your time. Transfering my prescriptions when I got new insurance was a nightmare. They will even ask you questions about a new medications and how to use them when they are the medical experts.I keep asking, is this really Costco? DO NOT USE if you can choose another. I don't have another mail option with my insurance. The reviews are abysmal, I'm surprised they are allowed to keep functioning, my guess is there are medical errors occuring.

Incredible service at Costco Riverbank Hearing Aid Center, from Mary and Matilda! I’ve had HA for years, and hated them. They didn’t deliver better hearing. Today Matilda found several that needed updating, and took me off new customer status, and I hear perfectly now. Highly trained with perfection focus, delivered over-the-top results!! Matilda: you are AWSOME! I can hear so well. Thanks. Mary: you took great care of me. A great team!! Gary

Rostisserie chickens good deal but buy beware - inconsistent quality

This is just for one aspect, rating their rotisserie 5 buck chicken which is a very generous deal and quite tasty most of the time. I brought it home right away, kept it hot in a cardboard covered box. Ate it mostly hot, but the next day I had pretty bad loose bowels and nothing else would have caused it, I had not been getting them, but it was bad the next day. Plus, it was overcooked and cooked too hot on some parts like the chicken wings that were black charcoal, but had not een cooked long enough or all the way through, maybe it was not defrosted enough. So, I surmised that they cooked it too hot for too short a time because underneath the bird it looked reddish pink like a small amount of blood was still in it. You would think they could get it right being such a huge corporation with such a good reputation. The next day when I reheated it I made sure it was hot enough for long enough to kill all microbes and did not have a recurrence Mon. or Tues. nights I ate it and no problem the next day. For people on the go this is bad news for them if they can't reheat it and might get loose bowels. Some bacteria are not dangerous enough to cause bad food poisoning like salmonella or listeria but still can cause bowel issues, but what if it did have salmonella then they would not have killed it, so this is a huge red flag.

Dear Costco Customer Service Team,

Dear Costco Customer Service Team,

I am writing to share a recent experience at one of your warehouse locations that left me feeling embarrassed and disappointed.

I visited the store with my dogs, believing they qualified to accompany me. At the entrance, the gentleman working at the door immediately stated, “I could tell they were not service animals,” and informed us that they could not enter. He never asked any questions about the animals, did not ask whether we had any documentation, and did not attempt to explain Costco’s policy or the difference between ADA-recognized service animals and Emotional Support Animals. Instead of calmly acknowledging that there is a specific policy and explaining what it requires, he was dismissive and rude in how he handled the situation.

After leaving the store, I researched Costco’s policy and now understand that only ADA-recognized service animals are permitted, and that Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) do not qualify under ADA guidelines. I acknowledge that this was my misunderstanding, and I respect Costco’s right to enforce its policy.

However, my concern is not about the policy itself — it is about how the situation was handled. The explanation was not delivered with professionalism or courtesy, and no effort was made to respectfully educate us on the policy. Had the situation been handled with basic customer service skills and clear communication, it would have felt very different.

We have shopped at Costco many times before without issue and value being customers. This experience was surprising and discouraging. I hope this feedback can be used as a training opportunity to ensure that policies are communicated clearly and respectfully in the future.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I would appreciate a response regarding how this will be addressed.

Sincerely,
[John b]

Made my kid cry!

1 star! I was checking out and my kid and her friends wanted some water so I let them get some water. They went up to the person working at the place to order food and asked for a cup of water. She asked if they could lemonade and the worker said yes. The CEO was working and got mad and yelled at them saying they couldn't do that. I saw all of this she came back crying..... I feel so bad.

Cheerful Staff and Fun Adventure

I love Costco - even though I only buy for two, there are many things that I purchase regularly. It's an adventure each time - I go with a shopping pal and we have fun searching for deals and unusal items. Recently I've asked a number of associates what they think of working at Costco and they are happy! It shows in their pleasantness. Another fun thing, I recently came across the "Kirkland King" videos - these are hysterical and accurately sum up the fun Costco experience.

I give 4 stars because, of course, price matters - I wish that the coffee was on sale more often.

Visa Monopoly

Visa Monopoly

They gladly let me pay for my
Membership with my Mastercard. But when I went to HEARING a gray haired Karen took an imperious attitude as though she needed me to reassure her upfront that I would wear the hearing aids if she spent her precious time fitting me for them. Like kindergarten. Then she said they wouldn’t take insurance even though all Medicare Advantage Plans cover up to $1200. PIA

Then I went to buy a new Apple Mac Air and stood like an alcoholic in a long line
only to find at the register that as a policy they would only take Visa or cash.

What BS. No wonder they scale at 1.8.

Ist time visit to Costco wanted to know what the hype was all about regarding the hotdogs. Placed order waited patiently to be called. The staff member turned around to hand me my food and she had a massive stream of saliva running down her chin past the mid point of her chest. I turned around and walked off minus the food.

The big- box shops are to be Vegan commercialand family- pack adoption is missing

The big- box shops are to be seen in the context of Antitrust depricing. So when we have Antitrust - problematic products, where wholesale exists bulk government purchasers and unenumerated university purchasers, so too exists a very pointed opportunity for the momentum of that Costco pricing to effect US - interests.
