I went into buy Pork Rinds keto and whipping cream at the Costco Business Center and they did not carry either.I know that Costco used to . I was not impressed. It is out of our way to go into shop for somethings that were always available and now they are not.

My order was cancelled with a general reference to a few reasons why. None of the reason seem to apply. I followed their unfriendly contact information to question why. It is a week later and I have not received a reply. Their in store service has always been excellent. The online app and service is poor.

FRAUD alert?

40 years ago as a business student, I learned about "change". To change the habits of an employee or customer, you need to sustain your instructions/policy for 2 straight weeks; without interruption, in order to get the vast majority to accept.
That still holds true today. Costco does it quite well with their entire business.

Costco implements change consistently. All major employers and retailers do. From removing items from the shelf (chicken wings left the deli/meat area for a time this year) or menu (chicken wings removed from the cafeteria area, to installing self-checkouts (I'm sure complaints are still happening, but the majority of people have accepted them... complaints are decreasing), to swiping your membership card to get in. All change to make higher overall net or margin. Now I fight back.

I'm retired and making a lunch for a child. Kirkland granola bars. I don't pay attention. The price slowly creeps up or the # in a package goes down but today I found that I was the victim of "shrinkflation".

The granola bars are about 24 grams. Unbelievable. To be honest, I don't know what the grams were before, but Costco puts the $/100 grams up, so that's basically what people use to decide if inflation has hit the product. If you shrink that product in order to keep the "trigger" meant to entice your customer, you are bordering on fraud. So I fight back.

I'm not leaving Costco (my purchases pay for the membership).

I leave you with this. The wholesalers of name brand granola bars (or other products) should take note. As a result of Costco's "change" policy, people are moving to "make their own" (or eliminate the product from their home). You may want to renegotiate your terms.

And... I'm not buying a single kirkland granola bar again. I'll make my own and found great recipes. I win the fight.

Pumpkin pies

We purchased two pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving. Opened and served the first one. Everyone took their first bite and it was unanimous that the pie was not normal. It was darker in colour and tasted awful. Nobody wanted to eat any more. We threw it all away. Very disappointed.

So I tried to get a membership again after I let my last one expire. Sadly after having a stroke, there is some information I just do not remember. So when I could not recall an old phone number from years ago I am given a hard time by this loser at the computer. If your company can't respect the medical needs of your customers clearly you need to take that business model back to America because it has no place here in Canada! Losers!

They say dishwasher installation

"Their website states that dishwasher installation is included, but there’s an asterisk next to it. When I called, they started talking about legalities before I could even explain the issue. Clearly a scam.

Where to to begin,,,,

Where to to begin,,,,
If it was possible to do a ZERO review I would.
I recently made an online purchase of a refrigerator.
Price was the same as all the competitors.
We decided to give Costco the sale. We were told the delivery would be Oct/1 and we were informed the delivery window was 7:10-11:10 AM. Seemed fine.
At 10:05 AM no delivery, no communication, nothing.
I called Costco customer service, and was told that the window was changed to 8:40-11:40 AM, and it was on the way and should be an hour or so.
I was told that the 3rd party delivery company should have informed us,,, no call, no email, again nothing.
This is when it gets really bad. The Costco online customer service supervisor, Mike (who has zero customer service skills) tells me that they do not guarantee any time and the delivery could be late or not at all. He also told me he could see on his on it was on the way. At 12:00 PM, I called the delivery company (Metro Last Mile) and was informed there was no driver and it was still in the warehouse, and they can’t even say if will delivered.
The worst part of all of this is the complete lack of communication, professionalism, an attitude as if I am wrong and it seemed like they could not care less.
Their entire attitude is confrontational and condescending.
I called customer service and cancelled the order.
The guy on the phone made it seem like it was my fault.
I just bought a $2000.00 refrigerator and they are blaming me for their complete lack of customer service.
After all of this the delivery company calls me and tells that they are running 3 plus hours late.
Are you kidding me!!!
Costco is good for cheap hot dogs and toilet paper and that’s where it ends.
Be very careful if you want to buy anything that require even the slightest bit of professional customer service.

Great staff

Great staff, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. Had to make a return and wasn’t given any hassle. They were completely understanding and made me feel appreciated as a customer. Thank you Costco!

This store sells expired meat

This store sells expired meat. I bought cooked wild Dungeness crab, and when I opened the pack, it had a terrible smell. When I tried to return it, customer service insisted they don't sell expired products. I pointed out that the purchase date was actually the expiration date, but they still refused to give me a refund. I’ll never buy seafood from them again.

Costco Burnaby - customer service

Costco Burnaby: store was crazy busy. Could not find my membership card. A floor supervisor agreed to help me. Could not imagine going back. She spent sometime looking for my account as it was inactive. She persisted in spite of the chaos. She could have sent me to the customer desk which was at least a 40 minute wait. Wish I could share her name because she went above and beyond. Way to go? Happy customer.

Someone fraudulently ordered something…

Someone fraudulently ordered something using our Costco Canada account. It was a whole week of dealing with this nonsense and being told it was handled. It wasn’t. The item was actually delivered to our address (Costco told us that criminals do this and then alter the delivery address after the fact but they couldn’t with this one because we changed every single password we had) and we took it into a warehouse to get a refund (it was over $500) they refused to refund us saying they never received payment even tho that money was charged to our card. So now our bank is on the hook for the fraud. And we were treated like criminals from the warehouse staff and also whoever we had to deal with on the phone every single time we called about this. It’s disgusting how we have been members since the 90’s but we are portrayed as the ones who committed the fraudulent purchase.

Invalid coupons

In the September Costco Connection magazine were two pages of various coupons for executive members only. On the first page, coupon valid dates are shown in large font black as Sept 2 to 15th and Sept 16 to 29th . However in much smaller font and light orange (basically unreadable), coupons on the second page were to be valid only for Sept 16 to 29th. Since you do not need to provide the coupon as the discount is to be automatically applied at checkout, most customers would likely assume they got a discount even though one was not applied on the earlier dates. Even worse, there was a printing error on the back of the coupon (as admitted by Costco customer service in an email response to me) that indicated these coupons were valid Sept 2nd to 15th. Shameful approach by Costco...for deceitful coupons and after recognizing printing error, not providing discounts anyway( when there are two different prices on an item, most stores will automatically agree to the lower price!

No thank you I’ll go somewhere else where they respect me and trust me , and the other stupid thing they start doing is self checkout then why I pay membership from the first place ?

BEYOND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Purchased Hunter Douglas blinds three months ago from Costco. Paid over $5,400 for 7 blinds. Had the blinds installed and they are terrible quality. One of the wands already broke. Contacted Costco who advised they would replace the wand. It has now been almost a month and the part hasn't been received. My blind is stuck open with no way of closing it. It is over plus 20 and there is no privacy. I asked Costco if these blinds could be replaced as they claim 100% customer satisfaction. I sent an email over a month ago and each return email said it was being sent to the "appropriate team". They say you will be contacted within 2 to 3 days one email, another email 5 to 7 days. Neither of these timeliness were met. Please learn from my experience to not deal with costco. For such a large amount spent it is fair to expect an efficient service but the reality is they don't care will not honor commitments and will run you around if you have any problems. Stay FAR FAR AWAY. I've never dealt with such terrible customer service in my life.

I just called Costco customer support for the first time to ask a question, and I can't believe how rude, unfriendly, and curt the representative was. I’m a salesperson at a national company, and if I treated our clients that way, I would expect to be fired. Just wow.

Too many steps!

Hello,
Here’s the thing, I’ve been a Costco member for a very long time. I enjoy the experience for the simplified straightforward experience. One tap payment for fuel & warehouse payment as an example.
As I happened to be in Edmonton I thought I’d stop by the 142st location to have a look. Had my AirPods in listening to music and as I cruised past the main entrance as I usually do showing my card as I always do. The clerk said something I didn’t really hear as I went by. As I was walking in the warehouse another clerk approached me and said I didn’t “check in”
I asked when did this start she said about 3 weeks ago.
I said that’s okay, I’ll leave.
So here’s the thing for myself personally. I want my life to be simplified and streamlined, not the other way around. I avoid lineups like the plague. I will Nope this location and any other location that adds additional steps in my Costco experience.
So now I have to wait in a line to check into the warehouse and then someone Checks my membership card when I use the self checkout and then I have to wait again some someone can check my receipt for “errors”
Too many step for this member!
Wade
