I was cheated

I was cheated. I was promised a ton of referrals along with good preparation, so I payed a hefty investment upfront. Few months down the line, I did not receive any referral. After I explicitly demanded the referrals I paid for on several occasions, I was told that I was referred to a couple of consulting firms. But I only got notified about one.

What bothered me the most is that, at the beginning they made me feel as if I would definitely get an offer with their help. But later I started to feel as if they just kept my expectations high so that I pay.

They say they have helped over 500+ mentees land their consulting job. I find that strange since in my class of roughly 25 mentees, 15 of them left the program without getting the referrals they were promised. As for the mentees who stuck with the program, I honestly don't know what happened to them, but I don't think they are in a better position.

PS: I also remember Consulting Masters team praising how they helped one person land a consulting job where in fact that person got it without any help from them.
On another occasion, they stated that they referred another mentee to a certain company. Later on, I found out that this mentee got the referral because he knew the recruiter personally and not because of a Consulting Masters' contribution.
