BAD MANAGEMENT. I got charged almost 300$ more than my rent price for electricity and when I complained they reversed my payment and charged me a late fee!!!!! For something they did wrong

Was professional & friendly. Address my concerns & followed up with an email as stated

Ann was very helpful with helping me gain access to my suite. She also facilitated inquiry into my parking spot not having yet been assigned. I received an email soon after our conversation. Perhaps, a parking spot will be assigned soon.
In addition, Ann is researching why I have not received correspondence regarding ButterflyMX for my utilization.

Comically inept. I was given a mailbox key to my neighbor’s mailbox when I moved in, and when I complained that I could not receive my mail they copied the same key to my neighbor’s mailbox and brought it to me five times over the course of two months. They don’t perform maintenance either. We have active red mold due to leaks that Common won’t fix. We also don’t have heat, as they upgraded the unit’s ancient baseboard heaters with incomprehensible thermostats that have left wires exposed and the heat system unusable. They also ignore your preferred method of payment, and saddle you with exorbitant credit card fees even when they have a checking account on file.
This is a terrible company run by terrible people who should lose their licenses to rent property. Save yourself the hassle and look anywhere else.

The maintenance worker was helpful and showed me how to unclog the drain in the future per my request.

Ready to live in a moldy frat dorm?
Welcome to Common! Where you pay upwards of $2200 a month to be immediately greeted by the smell of moldy air (the AC is moldy and every breath you take is noxious), your bathroom floor constantly has smears of you know what (no joke), your kitchen is unusuable due to the amount of sticky rotting chunks and smears of food in all corners of the pantry and old sticky utensils, your packages and mail are consistently stolen (with no help or responsibility from management), your couch and rugs are yellowing/brown from the dirt and use, your roommates hoard the toilet paper like a war because common does not supply it for weeks at a time, and your security deposits are stolen. On top of that, be ready for weird and inconsiderate roommates who will throw parties and bring random people home monday through sunday at any hour of the day or night.
If you have ANY other option- and I do mean ANY- you are better off taking that. Do not fall for their traps- my experience was actually in one of the most expensive, “nicest” Commons (common Marcy) so I can’t imagine how the other commons are like.
Do NOT trust the photos- you’ll be fooled by the edited, clean-looking common areas and big windows but trust me. I am saving you. I just moved out as my lease ended and they refuse to return part of my entire security deposit because of normal wear and tear- BEWARE OF COMMON!!! Do NOT make the same mistake I did!!

A lot of hidden fees that were not mentioned during the first virtual tour even though I explicitely inquired about them. After paying the reservation fee and learning that there was a "move-in fee", I was told that they would not accept my bank account statement although my funds were sufficient and that I could either pay the rent for the whole period upfront without actually ever having seen the place or alternatively pay a monthly fee to a third-party company. Eventually, I decided to step back from my reservation which made me loose my reservation fee. During the process, the company reached out to me via several different emails and about 5 different phone numbers exerting pressure to close the deal. All in all the customer account manager appeared to be very dishonest and the whole experience was unpleasant, intransparent, and frustrating.

Ann helped me so much with my move-in instruction. She made everything easy and guided me through the process smoothly.

I live in the Broadridge location. Good experience overall.
Pros:
The amenities are the crown jewel of the location, and I'm pretty sure the main draw for tenants and their guests. Plus the location is great.
Cons:
Insanely small coliving spaces for the money, and you may be matched up with roommates that are "interesting," but those are the only cons that affect me.

Jessil, this review is specifically for you. I thank you for your unwavering support!! It’s clear some people go to work for a check! And others like yourself go to work, to work!!! The quality of consistency, care, and concern that I received from you as an individual on an ongoing basis is just not seen now a days at all! Hoping you can work your magic with, what was suppose to be, my emergency transfer since it’s been well over a month now! If there is anything else you can help me with, please look into whatever notes Common has regarding me because I trust you’d push until whatever I am waiting for gets done!! Thank you for being you BIG TIME!!!!!

Common is the worst company you can work with. They will try to trick you into a higher price. They will not listen to your concerns. I had a crazy roommate who was threatening me and they did NOTHING. Also none of the rooms in DC have locks. They will not doing anything about the rules they set when people violate them. My packages were stolen, and they over charge you with no refunds. Worst company in the world.

My experience so far has been really great. When I first signed my lease with common, I was placed in a room with difficult roommates & was unaware of the past situations. I only found out through someone who used to live in the room i was supposed to rent about this issue. However, when i contacted member support, they helped me change my room with ease and were very accommodating!! My only issue was that I was not made aware prior of the problematic roommate or that there were dogs in the unit. Everything otherwise was really great
