Every single Coinstar I have tried to use ever has always been broken or full.

I’m a U.S. Veteran and recently hospitalized. Back in October 2024, I purchased $900 worth of Bitcoin using a Coinstar kiosk, powered by Zero Hash and managed through CINQwallet.
When I later attempted to access my funds, I was told my account was locked due to missing KYC. Since then, I’ve submitted:
SSN
Government ID
Handwritten receipt with ticket number
Proof of purchase
Explanation that I’m currently hospitalized and unable to complete biometric verification
After all this, I was still denied access to my funds. Most recently, they demanded I tear off part of my original receipt the only legal proof I have of the transaction. I refused, for obvious reasons.
This has become financial abuse. I followed every step they gave me. Each time I comply, they invent a new obstacle. It’s beyond frustrating and disrespectful especially toward veterans and people in vulnerable medical situations.
Avoid using Coinstar or CINQwallet for crypto purchases. If something goes wrong, they’ll drag it out, and you’ll be left fighting for your own money.

Put coins in, machine malfunctioned. Didn’t print out voucher. Have to wait until the next day to receive money and still get charged there fees. Bullshit

Do NOT, I repeat Do NOT use Coinstar to cash in your change! My location was Stop and Shop on route 18 in East Brunswick, NJ. I counted my change which only consisted of quarters, pickles, and dimes the day prior and stopped counting when I reached $235. I included the 12% and fee should have received a little over $200 in cash. It doesn't let you know on the screen the total dollar amount as it's counting.

My cash received was $185.99, Coinstar ripped off an additional $25 on top of the fees.....

I will never use their machine again!!!!!

DO NOT USE THESE MACHINES.
They took $ 51.98 and gave me a receipt to bring to Starbucks and Starbucks will not accept it!! I tried at a standard Starbucks, they told me I have to take it to Safeway Starbucks with the machine. When I returned to that Safeway the Starbucks said I had to cash it in through Safeway. Meanwhile, Safeway is taking no responsibility. They owe me my cash AND compensation for time and travel, plus interest.

I used the machine at Stop and Shop in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts the machine was inaccurately tallying my money and then it broke down. The employee printed my receipt and it shown only 64 cents when I put at least $3 in the machine. I was trying to get my child something to eat and now I can’t.

Initially looked promising when I contacted them about an unauthorised transaction. They responded within 10 minutes That was a week ago now, no feedback since. Have just raised dispute with my bank and blocked my card. Absolute scum

Quite often, people are having to cash up their change because of not having a great deal of money. It’s a last attempt to perhaps pay a bill or get something sorted.

I used to use Coinstar. But the price they charge now is ridiculous 11.25% for a bit of electricity and the use of software and rent?

Coinstar has provided numerous excuses to delay the current situation. It requires significant intelligence and experience, as demonstrated by the profiles mentioned above, to facilitate my refund smoothly.

I cam across them on November, invested over 10k dollar, their customer service stopped responding to me that i reported to _epf plc_, avoid them

Lost $83 because I was given a gift card to Starbucks which was cancelled?! and neither Starbucks or Coinstar is willing to help. All they can tell me is it was cancelled and they are pointing the finger at each other for who’s responsible.

Understand that I use cornstar no more I have been ripped off every time. This machine went from 3 percent 5 years ago to almost 12? Do not trust there counting also. I've put a hundred dollars in and it said I only put 89 I thought it was the fee until I got that receipt. And it took out another 12 percent of the 89!

I was scamed out of $10,000 dollars. Scammers call you (I know dumb). They have you go to coinstar convert your cash to cybro currancy to release your relative from jail. Believe it, could have been worse. Coinstar needs to have law enforcement take a look at them.

My change got taken at Walmart because the machine was broken.. I was told to call the number of the company to have them get me my money back and they were so unprofessional and hung up on me. I never got my money back.

I used coin star in Honolulu and converted my money into e-cards to spend at shops unfortunately Starbucks,ihop etc had never seen or heard of them before so it was a drama to use them never again

I was at a coin star at kennies groceries in littelstown PA. The machine stopped working part way through. I got customer service at the store to look but they couldn't get the money back . I left my number and they called a few hours later to tell me coin star wouldn't refund any of the money stuck in the machine . Out of about 50$ in coins and I got a receipt for 10.79$ . I called coin star and was told the same thing . I will never ever use again . Your customer serives is trash and the fact that you basically stole my money is insane . Worst company ever
