Cognism has really stepped up our lead generation game! It gives us accurate and up-to-date contact info, which means the sales team isn't wasting time on boring manual research.

Cognism sold my private phone number

Cognism have sold my personal phone number.

There is no GDPR "fair use" or "business interest" for selling private phone numbers. I am inundated with calls from Europe and India to my private number all sourced through Cognism. Where they scraped this from I haven't a clue but it certainly wasn't a "verified" account or data as they claim.

Raised a DSAR and requested for my details to be deleted to their @policy email, not heard back. Will issue GDPR complaint as this persists

Cognism is an essential tool for any BDR

Cognism is an essential tool for my BDR activities. It provides a lot of useful information, such as company revenue, industry, phone number and email addresses. The data is mostly accurate, and if not, it is easy to report, and Cognism looks into the issue. The tool is very intuitive and easy to use, too, and their add-on for LinkedIn is very useful for creating lists and exporting them.

An invaluable daily use tool for prospecting new leads and for finding the best contact info to assist the sales process. Sometimes there is some contact info that is out of date, but it is still very good for locating prospects in different sectors to approach as potential customers.

Resume generating event

The data in the united states, canada, and latin america is lacking severely in comparison to Zoominfo. We did a data test prior to purchasing and Cognism seemingly was just as good as Zoominfo... but now that we are fully deployed it is a different story. We are struggling with low data volumes making the enrichment almost useless because of the very little matches we are finding. As a result, we are now looking to add Zoominfo back into the stack for the Americas. To pay for this, it will likely be a resume generating event for the person who purchased this tool.

bad contact info

wrong emails and direct lines marked as verified (when the correct ones are easily found via google)

Old company contact information, titles, etc when they moved jobs years ago

Incorrect titles when they are updated on linkedin

Salesforce errors when trying to import a contact that is not in the CRM stating it is in the crm already because of a name match (different company and email)

Direct lines or company numbers marked as mobile

Good idea, flawed execution, expensive

It's a good idea, but the execution is very flawed.
Pro:
👍 The addition of the LinkedIn profiles
👍 The information from the website
👍 Attempt to have mobile, phone and email
👍 Ability to make lists on the fly
👍 The interface with LinkedIn and other websites
Con:
👎 Expensive
👎 Many of the contacts come without email
👎 Many of the emails are inaccurate
👎 Customer service is a joke... a bad one
I like it, but I won't purchase it again when my contract is over.
