Closing Credits is not an organization I would recommend.
My experience with Closing Credits was terrible.
Short Review:
Not an organization I would do business with ever again. Try at your own risk, apparently some people have had success. If you have any issues at all, based on my experience, you will get little to no support and they will likely try to keep your money without providing any services.
My Experience (why my review is negative):
It started with the sign-up process. I kept getting a “Token invalid” with the links they sent used to validate my email address.
First, the response was quick, but the advice did not work. I continued to get the errors.
It took more than 4 days to respond and let me know it was working, and my email had been validated. If this had been the only issue, not a problem. Support is a little slow, but that can sometimes happen.
On to the next issue. I signed up and paid for a service from Closing Credits. No problem. I received an email with instructions that included what they needed and a deadline.
I gathered up all the information and attempted to send it, but NO actual email address was provided in the instructions. I reached out to support. (I still have not received a response and it’s now after the deadline)
The instructions did note they would send me a script to read. I figured, well maybe that is when I send the required information. That never arrived. I reached out to support twice on this to see if I could get an email or a way to contact the Audio Engineer. (I still have not received a response from support or the Audio Engineer that created the service on the platform and it’s now after the deadline)
Day of the event/service. I tested the connection to the meeting before the call. I received a notice, not started yet. Please come back at the time of the event. This looked good! I thought well I will get them all the info on the service call… Time arrived, and I received some strange validation error. (I asked the Closing Credits support for help. same as above, no response and I honestly did not expect one.) I tried again 2 minutes after the start time. This time I received the same notice as the first time, “the event has not yet started come back in 2 minutes”. I thought weird but ok, maybe he is just late… I tried again a few minutes later. I received the same notice; “meeting has not started...” but now the timer was ticking up, meaning the meeting was starting in 4 minutes and it was 4 minutes after the start time. Long story short if felt like a scam, I never really received any support for platform errors in a timely manner and the person that set up the service on Closing Credits never delivered the service.
So last thing any reasonable person would do is just ask for a refund… … alas I was directed to their FAQ section. I found this:
CAN I GET A REFUND?
Unfortunately, we are unable to process refunds. Closing Credits has to pay teachers, the amazing folks who run the events, and guests for their time and there are costs associated with refunding. Please be sure you want become a member before paying for it.
Awww guess what, I had signed up as a “Guest” which was an option available and there was nothing that stated you had to pay for the monthly membership prior to signing up for any services. So, by the Closing Credits organizational standards. I am out of luck.
