My purchase never arrived, tried on many occasions to contact customer services by email but no response. No phone number available to call, do not fall for this scam

Good value and well packed as usual

The delivery took 5 weeks with no communication from the company even when I tried to messages them. When the order arrived, it was very squashed into the box leaving some of the items damaged

I ordered the cost of living mystery box on the 29th January and never received my order. I've tried contacting XL Clearance multiple times (via email, via the websites messages, chat and phone but no response, however I've had two emails asking for my feedback. The DPD tracking provided advises that they are still awaiting the parcel from the merchant and that was from the 26th February. I even called DPD to check and they checked and confirmed no parcel had been received. So I have had enough and feel I have been more than patient with XL Clearance and now have claimed a full refund via my bank.

I will add it's actually a shame as I really love the idea of saving on food waste especially with the cost of living. XL Clearance need to do better especially with communication.

Complete scam- AVOID! Ordered 2 mystery boxes of books and a stationery one on 29th Jan. Its now 9th March and order still hasnt even been sent yet. Messages and emails ignored. Having to claim my money back through my bank.

Following company response- I had used the form on your website and the online chat to contact you on 3 occasions and received no response. Regardless of if you havnt received the communication, the issue still remains with the orders not being sent and many other orders having the same issue..Taking money and not sending goods makes it a scam!

Mostly stuff that no one want to eat! Threw most of it in the bin. Total waste of money. No communication.

Ordered the books mystery box using the Wowcher half price voucher towards it. This was on 19th January 2026. Nothing received as yet and emails and online forms completed have been ignored.

Ordered before Christmas to give as gifts - Thank God I didnt because when the order arrived late Jan it was FULL of AWFUL books and all harrowing biographies and the driest reads ever - I havent even been able to GIVE them away!!! Wouldnt mind a few duffs in with some good ones as in VARIETY but this was just awful. DO NOT BOTHER! FIND A CHARITY SHOP AND BUY CHEAP BOOKS THERE INSTEAD!

I ordered two stationary boxes. They took two months to come and barely contained any stationary! 200 face masks, cases for various tablets/iPads and even a bottle of water! DO NOT BUY!

Received order 4 weeks late and all drinks out of date by 12 to 18 months

Binned everything. Things over a year out of date. Juice had no fizz, flat and tasteless. Nothing was edible.

It was a box of junk, lots of wires and the only item that could be used was a book.

Absolutely terrible. I throw the whole lot out.
You could improve by stop ripping people off selling your rubbish.
I wished I took a video of it to send to trading standards.
I actually think you should refund me but I doubt you will

This is currently my most favourite company in the world, the value I get is the best from anywhere.
Occasionally some of the items may be sub-par but this is very very occasionally. My Experience and instinct tells me that this is a company that does it’s very very best to keep customers happy and I have learnt to trusted them, I tend to buy from them once per month and have done so for nearly a year.

My order was shipped quickly but items were missing when it arrived. I contacted them 3 times and got no response...Terrible customer service, order at your own risk!

Still no items. Order placed on 23rd November, today is 19th December. 4 weeks dispatch, that is ridiculous. No idea if I ever will see any items.

The company needs to respond on the email messages they don’t say anything

Ordered the drinks mystery box and wow I understand that some items could be a little past the best before but wow all out of date not by a month or two but 80% by a year or two opened a couple is the items and they was flat no fizz 90% have gone in the bin it’s a cleaver way to scam people out of money get the stock free and then sell it off as “some items maybe passes their best before” no what you mean to say is all item will be a year plus past its best before and just shaking the bottles you can see the only pace they are good for it the bin also you wait a month to get the box to be well disappointed the good thing is I’ve done a couple of utube of the whole take a look #scammers

Was a bit dubious after reading some of the reviews but items arrived quickly and well packed.
