Worst liars I've ever dealt with

Worst liars I've ever dealt with. Blew smoke up my rear telling me how they're with me before during and after each sale, then denied a clear cut fraudulent case against a vendor without consulting me for the documentation they say I should have on hand but never allowed me to submit. Citi is absolutely not for the customer, even though it's our interest and fees they collect. Complete sham of a customer-prevention department.

The worst customer service and policies…

The worst customer service and policies regarding the American Airlines CitiCard. Do not be taken by the offer of bonus miles....not worth it. Their outsourced call centers are some of the worst I had to deal with. The credit limit for the new card was so low I paid balance immediately to free up credit to make more purchases but they don't free up the credit for 2 weeks! Even though the payments is posted and has left my bank. HORRIBLE company.

I had a credit card with citibank they closed the account after 4 years of being opened, because of 1 returned payment that I replaced immediately when my bank notified me it wasn't going through. But my the real issue is, I opened a checking account and deposited $250, the account was closed within the next two days, that was almost 3 years ago, they never sent the money back that I initially deposited.

Had a Citibank card since 2013 and it was a platinum membership. Never missed a single payment and they decided to debit the wrong bank account off auto pay twice in a row and then cancel my card after that many years of loyalty. Absolutely wild to me and I’ll never ever allow them to have me as a loyal customer again.

CitiBank will never get any of my…

CitiBank will never get any of my business ever again. Got behind on some payment having not received my statements, wondering if this was their way to go paperless. So I paid my account and closed the account. They then started billing me monthly late fees having closed the account, and paid up to the date of closing the account.
Judging by all the other bad reviews they're hurting. Stay away, there are a lot of better banks around.

Do not do a balance transfer with this…

Do not do a balance transfer with this company. They tricked me into doing another balance transfer by prompting on their system that my balance transfer didn’t go through or it showed “something went wrong” on their system. Because I thought my balance transfer did not go through, I had to try it again on another card. Same thing again and it says it did not go through. After few days, they just posted bunches of balance transfers on my two credit cards without notifications or consent on my end, which made me pay my creditor twice.

This company sucks and deceitful. Plus their customer service representatives also aren’t very helpful, but rather police you for being frustrated and would even hang up on you. They wouldn’t even apologize for what happened but would just keep ignoring your call.
There’s no way this is legal— making their customers think balance transfer did not go through so they would try it again on another of their credit card and just posting it on their accounts without even notifying them. This company should be investigated. I feel so blindsided. This is fraud.

After I settle this, I will close most of my accounts. If not all. The worst company ever. They only want your money.

Worst card company ever

Worst card company ever. I have multiple cards with Citi. I recently got injured so used my card a little more than usual....all of a sudden they killed all my available credit. Been with them for years....not a single non payment or late payment...but when needed, they took all of my available credit away.

USE TD

Extremely disappointed with the service from Citibank—even with a Gold account. I waited over six weeks for bank statements that never arrived. I called multiple times and was repeatedly told they would be sent, but I never received them by email or mail. The lack of follow-through and communication is unacceptable. I will not be using their services again.

NIGHTMARE

I am only creating this account and leaving a review (I never leave reviews good or bad) to let everybody know this is a terrible credit card company. I was talked into it last minute when checking out at Costco for my first time because they don't take just any payment method, so I signed up for what they recommended, and GD was I tricked into one of the most shady companies. Everything was fine and dandy for a little while, until I logged into my home bank account one day to see it negative SO many dollars. Why? Citi card attempted to submit a FULL payment on the card (after I had just submitted a 500 dollar monthly payment which covered well over the min payment) and dropped my bank account! I did not submit or approve the payment. I had just over paid and caught well up to speed on my monthly payment. Why would I purposefully try to tank my bank account and overdraft it by trying to pay the rest of the CC off?? I wouldn't!! But, the 4 customer service reps I spoke to all blamed it on me, saying I am the only one who has access to my account, and I must have made the payment and there's no other explanation. I was literally in the car after picking up my child from preschool on the way home when the payment was 'submitted'. It makes zero sense. Customer service is so extremely rude, they do not care about your account and will blame it on you, oh and when you have to answer your security word.... get ready to have to say it but also spell it... and if you spell it incorrectly you are doomed. Truly doomed.

Worst bank ever

Worst bank ever! It’s a pain to reach anyone in customer service, all of the reps are over seas so difficult to understand them, take forever to pay out deposits bonus even if you met requirements 90 days before.

If I could give me negative star reviews I would. Just shut down the entire bank and do something else for gods sake!

Avoid Citibank- not worth the stress

They will try to get you to sign up for services that sound 'great' but then are unable to navigate easily to make payments. There's always 'sorry, something went wrong' error messages! The app updates are worse with each one, and don't try to get anyone to help with anything-they seem to be just as ignorant as asking some random person on the street to help. This is ridiculous. Every month it's the same thing with trying to make payments. Avoid Citibank. It's just not worth it.

CITI Could Care Less About Fraud…

Not happy with 'Citi Card' VISA through Costco...purchased (2) $100 'Vanilla Visa' Cards at my local CVS using my 'Citi' card Visa. These were gifts for my nephews during the Holidays. They seemed to be packaged properly and sealed. When my nephews opened the packages, the cards could not activate the enclosed cards, because they had missing numbers. The cards had been tampered with. CVS said that they weren't liable, and 'Vanilla Visa' gave me the run-around. Their customer service is horrible. They start you off by asking what the balance of the card is. How would we know that when we dont have the complete card number info. HELLO??!!...I am quite certain that Im one of many victims. I contacted the Better Business Bureau, then 'Citi' card. I told 'Citi' that I have the receipt of purchase, AND copies of the compromised cards, front and back!!. They credited me prior to their investigation. Then they denied me the credit with a letter stating that the funds were used, cards were activated & purchases satisfied. Of course thats true - BEFORE I PURCHASED THE CARDS!!
My gut??...they didnt give this and probably many other similar situations of 'FRAUD' their due attention. So, Im inclined to cancel the card...SCREW CITI

Rejection for Credit Card - no basis

I am just a regular guy with an average income, and a good credit rating. For reasons unknown, Citi rejected my application for their credit card. I was intending to use it to get a price break on Costco gas and other items, but now can not. I wish only the worse for Citi.

Worst customer service

Master Card Citibank must have the worst customer service of the industry. People are just not qualified for customer service at all. For them, clients are useless/irrelevant, no matter what kind of client you are, premium or regular, the willingness to resolve any problem is zero. And when you ask for a manager to speak to, they tell you the wait time is 30 min. Then this lady I was having a conversation with, hang up on me when I asked her for her name. Terrible indeed, I am not cancelling the card only not to lose the miles. These people need an urgent upgrade of customer service staff, people who give a damn because most don't

Citibank deserves less than a star

If I could give Citibank less than a star, I would have. Just horrible customer service. First of all, I don't know if the girl had her microphone too close to her mouth, but I absolutely could not understand a word she was saying. There was no customer service. No. "Thank you for calling Citibank." Or "Have a wonderful day." Nothing. When we were done with our business, She said, "we're done."

Out of all banks this is the absolute worse

I have credit cards with every major bank mostly to get bonus points. Probably have had around 15 cards. Citibank is the only bank where I have had numerous problems. To start they had trouble mailing me a card but eventually ended up somehow with two different credit cards. Canceled one, the other tried canceling after using and did receive the bonus only to find it wasn't a very good idea in the first place cause the bonus plus the trouble wasn't worth it. So tried canceling the card a couple times. Was told over phone it was canceled. Was not canceled. I did have some $15 autopay but instead of canceling they did not cancel and I ended up with a $40 late payment. They won't reverse even though they screwed up several times. I hate this bank!

Citibank Global card bonus- corporate sponsored scam!

Got a new Citibank AA Global Mastercard... charge $5000 in 4 months to get 90K bonus miles. Except any significant charge is immediately declined with no recourse, confirmed by CSERV. ("you can call us from the vendor and get it authorized while there", if I and they have a lot of time to wait.) I got the card, activated it, used it a few days, then tried to charge a $1200 car repair, declined twice. I used a different Citibank card, with no bonus miles, and it worked fine. So unless one can charge $5000 in 4 months using small charges, it's useless, corporate sponsored scam to get your $350! CSERV tells me I can call them for pre-authorization before I use it for any large purchase, every time. But they won't tell me what the limit I can charge without doing that is. It's quite embarrassing when the card is declined trying to pay. The card offer sounded good, like most scams. I will likely not make the spending retirement now with only small purchases, cancel the card and have to eat the $350. Lesson learned. I'll get a Chase card and if they are better will cancel all Citibank cards.

Sketchy Work -

I have been with Citi for about 7-8 years. All of a sudden they closed my account. When I called to find out and have them revert that, they said they would need to do a hard inquiry, which would affect my credit score again, closing it dinged my credit score already. A hard inquiry stays on your account for 1-2 years. Because I had opened another premium credit card a year ago, I was hoping to wait 1 more year before applying for another credit card. Honestly, I'm confused. Don't they want more customers and credit lines open? I haven't used it for some time as I was building my credit - so I was shocked that there was no communication. When I confirmed what email and address they had on file for me, since I didn't get notified, the gal on the phone said she cannot tell me, so when I tried to check it myself, Citi required me to get a code from them, which she refused to do unless I reopened my card that they closed which she kept saying would be a hard inquiry. Overall, disappointed in Citi. Anyone else experiencing this? I have other credit cards open that I don't use (Chase, AMEX), and Citi is the first to just flat out close it for inactivity.
