Lost Interest in spending $ Here
Our family of 6 has received multiple gift cards to here as Christmas gifts over the years. There hasn't been a movie that we've been wanting to see in 3 years and now there's COVID. I was excited to learn about the Private Watch Party option, as I could provide a little normalcy for my boys- even if just for a moment. After signing up for their Cinemark.com account, I learned that you can only add 5 gift cards to your account at a time. Well, that doesn't cover it. I call the theater, they tell me to call the 1800 number. I do, and they tell me they can't combine gift cards without a proof of purchase. How do I get that, when they were gifts? I thought I could go in and set it up and pay for it, but nope it's an online thing only.
So I have over $300 in Cinemark gift cards at $10 each and can't do anything safely with my family to use them. Fabulous. I'll let the gift giver know NOT to WASTE THEIR MONEY, and everyone else.
I love their popcorn!
We didn't even watch a movie - my husband just went in there to get me some popcorn because I was having a bad day. I am obsessed with movie theater popcorn, especially Cinemark movie theater popcorn. He asked the lady for extra butter, and she went above and beyond. She put butter throughout 4 or 5 different places. I swear these are the first people to ever take us seriously. When we say 'extra butter' we MEAN it - like give me diabetes with that extra butter please. Anyway, the extra buttery popcorn turned my day around. It's that easy.

I got a gift card from my children for…
I got a gift card from my children for Christmas. I tried using it Two weeks into January and it said no balance. I go the receipt from my daughter and called customer support. I was told it was used in Virgina on the 6th the whole amount (100.00) . I live in KY. So I asked what could be done and was basically told nothing. It is treated like cash that I lost? The card went from the local theater to my daughter to me no where else. So the number had to get taken on their end. I would think? I go to at least one movie a week some times two. I am now looking for another theater. They did say they would open a complaint but phone center manager I talked to basically said tough $h#t in a nicer way not our problem. I can not see how someone could have gotten the card from me.
That was a lot of money my kids don't have to throw away. I hope they enjoyed the money . I will still attend this theater but will visit others more often.
I've been happy with our local Cinemark Theater
I've been happy with the local Cinemark theater we go to. They don't have very many theatres, but the quality is good, seats are comfortable and the food and drink items are good. Employees are generally friendly. It's our first choice for movies in our area.
DO NOT Put Your Gift Card on their Website!
Had a $200 gift card which I uploaded as directed on their website. Used it twice with a remaining balance of $140. Went to use it and discovered it had been emptied by someone in California ( I live in Maryland). Zero balance. So I contacted my local theater who said they couldn't help me. Contacted corporate numerous times and was told "sorry" that happened to you but can't help you. Looked on the internet and discovered this happens ALL THE TIME to people. Cinemark's website isn't secure and is easily hacked. They know it, don't fix it, and refuse to give anyone their money back. Horrible company. I tell everyone I know to stay away. They are literally stealing people's money. I plan to file a case with the attorney general's office in Maryland.
If you work in the city
If you work in the city, but take public transportation, you are not welcome there. There are no lockers for backpacks. You cannot enter.
I love Cinemark theaters
I love Cinemark theaters. I have the subscription plan and get the one ticket and discount on concessions. My only complaint is that they need to renovate all their theaters to have the recliner style seating like they have at their Eastport Century 16 location.
At my local Century theater
At my local Century theater, the staff is great, the seats are comfortable. The subscription plan is actually just a discount plan so I wish that was better. I just wish people learned movie etiquette and stopped talking and using their phones
