CHOICE HOME WARRANTY

I made my first claim since having this company for 2 ceiling fans. One would only run on low speed, second one quit running, the blades would try to turn but then make this awful grinding noise. That fan had only been up a year and was out of warranty. They put a hold om my, credit card, sent the technician out, he heard the noise, saw the other fan wobble really bad when you put it on med, or high speed. They released the hold on my credit card, and it took forever for the technician to get the information to them, no fault of his. They did not answer him when he called. They denied my claim and sent me an email about neglect, abuse, and not maintaining the fans. I filed a dispute, and when I finally got to talk to someone it was all about the service fee. I don't understand why they released the hold on my card when they are the ones that held everything up and still denied my claim. I want people to be aware this company is not a good company for what they advertise and tell you on the phone. Beware of what you purchase, because iy is not a true home warranty.

34 DAYS WITHOUT CENTRAL AIR

On july 17th my HVAC system failed, Living here in Florida i immediately filed a claim and a technician arrived on July 24th, only to determine the system would probably need to be replaced. Choicehomewarranty did approve the replacement and a case manager was assigned to oversee the claim. Yesterday August 26th a unit was finally installed. It took 34 days living in my condo, with indoor temperatures at 85 degrees and humidity at 72 with fans and a portable dehumidifier running 24/7. Choice completely failed handling what should have been a priority claim. The case mgr and any communication were non existent. They obviously DO NOT have a large network of technicians available to handle an emergency like this nor care to keep in touch. My policy after 5 yrs expires August 28th and over the last 34 days received an average of 4 calls daily along with countless emails to renew. This was my first major claim and they FAILED. In fairness they were good handling appliance repair issues having had two claims filed over those yrs. After all this i will not renew my policy and hope this review helps the reader decide to do the same.

Very difficult to get technicians out…

Very difficult to get technicians out to service home. Most of the technicians I have worked with had no idea why they were called to the appointment, did not answer when I would call to get a time scheduled, did not give more than a 8 hour notice of appointment time the day of to come to home, paying a $100 service fee no matter what the service was while finding out that the "full coverage" warranty does not in fact cover/replace anything.

I did some research

I did some research, and Choice is rated #1 in home warranties. The customer service rep was professional, knowledgeable, and very informative. He offered different options and programs.

Through customer service there is no possibility to disconnect the contract. I have tried for two days on hold and waiting for a call back from a representative. They keep you on hold all day and no call back. Good luck canceling after selling your home.
