Great experience from start to finish

Great experience from start to finish. Visited the showroom in Bolton and spent an hour looking at all the options, second hand and new. Once we decided communication was great and delivery quicker than expected. Couldn't be happier. 🤩

Closed down or Scam?

Ordered from overseas for 1 year and 9 months ago, full payment made but no shipment arranged. Tried to call every week for 2 months and no response.

My boss ordered and I helped my boss to chase about the order. I have all email communication and invoices, do you want to check invoice no 1021 dated 18/07/2023?

I have called two months ago, almost every week 2-3 time, left you messages, but no reply.

Helpful staff and a smooth process

Visiting the showroom on the weekend worked well for me since weekdays are usually packed. The staff were easy to talk to and explained things without any pressure. I picked out a sofa that really fits my space. It looks good and feels well made. Delivery was on time and straightforward. No complaints.

Chesterfields of England made the shopping process incredibly convenient. They opened their showroom on a Sunday to accommodate my schedule, which was a thoughtful gesture. The staff were knowledgeable and gave me plenty time to browse without feeling rushed. I choose a sofa that fits my home perfectly, and the build quality is impressive. Delivery was well-coordinated, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable.

Our experience with Chesterfields of England was outstanding. We purchased a vintage Chesterfield sofa, and couldn't be happier. The craftmanship is exceptional. The ordering process was easy, and delivery arrived on time. Overall, a very good buying experience and wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
I bought a ex-display sofa in the Boxing Day sale, when it arrived it was used and damaged so much so, we refused the delivery of it. Filthy, torn, cat scratched, stained, paint marked and clearly not ex-display we were disappointed to say the least. I contacted them straight away, spoke to one of the ‘agents’ and received an email stating I would receive a refund. Numerous emails, phone calls and messages and still good old ‘Frank’ still didn’t get back in touch.
Fast forward to today, 20th May 2025, I have only just recieved my refund having battled with them for months and my credit card people getting on board.
Avoid at all costs.

We understand you refused delivery of the vintage sofa you bought in our Boxing Day sale because you weren’t happy with its condition. As a vintage piece, it did have some wear and tear, which we aimed to show in the photos and description. If those weren’t clear enough or if the sofa didn’t seem as clean as you’d hoped, we’re truly sorry. We did give it a thorough clean before it left our showroom, as we always do.
On the refund, we processed it the very day the sofa came back to us, sticking to our full money-back guarantee that covers all our sofas. We’ve got the refund documents to show the money left our system that same day, and any delay in it reaching you would’ve been down to your credit card company’s processing, which we can’t control. We’re sorry that this caused you frustration.
We’re a small business that prides itself on doing right by our customers, and we think it’s a bit unfair to say we didn’t respond or act in good faith when we issued the refund promptly after you refused delivery. We’re sorry this didn’t work out . Feel free to reach out if you’d like us to share those refund docs or discuss this further.

Lied to at point of sale, awful communications and dragging their feet over an agreed refund.

Hard to conclude these guys are little other than con artists. Paid for sofa and chair and assured that it would fit in the house and if not we'd get a refund. We had concerns over the sofa fitting so showed the guys videos of the property access. We were assured they'd seen far worse and that they'd be using their own staff (we were even invited to meet our "delivery Driver" to talk about how he'd get the sofas in) and that if needs be they could adapt the sofa or remove doors to get it in, so we went ahead with the deal.

Delivery day came and went with no delivery. I chased them and it turned out they'd decided to use a third party courier who were now delivering a day later. Work re-arranged to be at home and I'm glad I did as the supplied couriers who were less competent than the Chuckle Brothers and had no interest in waiting whilst we took doors off (Chesterfields had said their own staff would do this if required). Per our agreement I rejected the delivery and Chesterfields confirmed that day that I could have a refund.

Here we are nearly four weeks on and a refund has not been made. I have been polite and professional throughout, but they have blocked me on WhatsApp and aren't responding to an email setting out my complaint that they haven't actually done as promised and refunded me. I have no choice but to pursue a refund through my credit card, despite this company offering a 14 day money back guarantee and having offered to refund me nearly a month ago.

EDIT: despite the platitudes offered in their response below, Chesterfields failed to refund and the dispute was subsequently settled in my favour by my credit card company. They also challenged they’d blocked me, although I was (and still am) able to evidence this through the WhatsApp message receipt timeline.

The refund was processed on the
Monday after we received the sofas back from our couriers?
I’ve also put a message through to them to ask why they didn’t wait until you took the doors off, to be fair they’re on a tight schedule and will only wait a certain amount of time and if it’s likely to be a tight delivery they would normally expect the buyer to have the doors prepared ready for delivery.
Not withstanding that we’ll check with our credit card provider in the morning and chase the refund.
We have a no quibble refund policy if an item doesn’t fit and refund immediately once the sofa is back with us.

5* customer service! You don’t get many companies that go the extra mile anymore! Great to see there are still some about. Ordered two Queen Anne chairs at a good price, out of hours customer service and instant support from Frank on chat and text. Photos sent on WhatsApp at 18:00. Two beautiful chairs delivered within a week. Cannot recommend enough! Thank you. Will be coming back!

I cannot fault the team at Chesterfields of England. No request I made was too small or impossible to achieve. The owner Franco went above and beyond to assist with my order, which was simply outstanding. Refurbished and treated antique chair and changed specifications to order within 5 days of purchase. A refreshing approach to customer services. Consignment delivered as promised without a single hitch. Simply excellent. Thank you. Highly recommended.
