After being diagnosed as borderline diabetic I was advised by the NHS to take a general eye test following my diabetic eye check.
Was told it would be free.
Eye test was free but was then given for *just* £98 a camera scan which, along with the sight test, revealed I required specs.
Trusting (and foolish) soul that I am, I assumed I was dealing with health professionals, not retail sharks. To cut a long story short, over £600 ended up on my credit card and since wearing the specs have had nothing but headaches.
As I'd not had an eye test for over twenty years, I feel trusting them as health professionals first and foremost allowed my naivety to be exploited.
What has also been displeasing is the number of people locally who since have commented on the lines of 'oh, yes, know all about them, would never go there', yet I am the first to leave a review on TP.
Maybe if someone had done so prior to myself, I could have saved myself, and possibly a fair few others, a few hundred quid.
Beware.
