I have purchased 2 vehicles here

I have purchased 2 vehicles here, and been loyal to them for service. A few weeks ago I brought my vehicle in for service, I paid with my VISA. A few days ago I received my VISA statement, and the charge from Chapman was higher on the statement than on the invoice. I called, and was told that now they charge 3% for credit card payments.
What vendor, store, service center do you folks know that charges for credit card use? this was a first for me. So the 3% added on is in effet 36% annual interest, as they get their money within a few days. "On average, merchants can expect to receive funds from credit card transactions within 1-3 business days after the transaction is processed."--so says Google AI! And I was told that this is the way all of Chapman Group now charges. Chapman Auto Group has been penny wise and pound foolish with me! Just sayin...
