My energy supplier through a Third Party Company replaced the the fully functioning Chameleon IHD6 with an Chameleon IHD3.
As I have politely pointed out to my Energy Supplier the Chameleon IHD3 may give "pretty" displays but as an older customer it requires many button presses to get first an Electricity Meter Reading and then again from home screen it requires many button presses to get a Gas Meter Reading.
In contrast the IHD6/IHD7 has for an older person like me a touch screen which in two steps gives both Electricity and Gas Meter readings on the same screen.

My electricity supplier installed a smart meter with a Chameleon IHD3 home display unit October 2023. The devise has never paired with meter, supplier can’t help. Don’t seem to be able to purchase another as told to do so by Scottish power. Very disappointed with service and home devise as unable to monitor and control usage as was verbally sold to me.

Shell Energy installed a home display IHD3-PPMID-AAA TYPE 1 on 2nd Nov 22. Today is the 8th Nov 22. I touched the "now" button which should display the current energy usage and the unit gave a small electrical pop. I think this company may have a technology longevity problem. Alternatively, I could just have received a dud.
