I'm very happy to be ordering from CD Japan - they have a very good stock of music releases at a fair price, and shipping is quick and reliable. They are a great source for music releases coming from Japan !

I have ordered many times from CDJapan and never had any problem. Everything always went smoothly and CDJapan shipped very fast and items always arrived in perfect condition.

I've been a CDJapan customer since 2017, and I still rely on it as my go-to site when buying merch from Japan. All of my transactions with them have been very satisfying and very easy! They even include their own bonuses on most pre-orders.

I felt anxious about using it the first time because I was fairly new to online shopping, but their "How-to" guides are super beginner-friendly, and their FAQs cover most of the questions that you could possibly have when it comes to online transactions.
If there are some questions that you can't find, their customer service contacts are very responsive and are very quick to handle any issue you might encounter.

Ever since they've offered proxy shopping, I've become a more frequent customer! Although, depending on the item, the proxy request might not come through. They're very quick with updating regarding requests, so it'll give you ample time to check the original website or to explore other options.

The shipping prices have increased, but it's hardly CDJapan's fault because the pandemic has hit a lot of businesses hard.

One of the only issues I've encountered with CDJapan is that there are items that they don't carry that aren't available via proxy either. And that they're not able to proxy for Japanese websites that hold auctions or require talking to a seller (like Mercari).

But other than that, everything starting from the browsing to the shipping has been very satisfactory, and I can see myself using it for a long time!

I have been ordering from them for more than 10 years, mainly Japanese Books, Magazines and CD/DVD/BD, average on 25 packages shipped to me in Italy every year. A lot of stuff.
Happy about the overall experience. Service is good and I'm satisfied about Customer Service. For sure there are area of improvements (e.g. faster to reply) but CDJapan is my main supply of those items from Japan and it is much better then some competitors that I have experience with.

CDJapan is my go to service for japanese CD's and DVD's. Excellent service and backup. They also have a great proxy service to use should you find something elsewhere on another Japanese retail website that is not listed on their own site, with minimum fees charged (basic service fee, a small handling fee and local postage fees). I have been buying via CDJapan for years and will continue to use their service. I Can't recommend them enough. Glenn (Australia).

I am huge fan of the Japanese group BAND-MAID and being from America it can be extremely difficult to obtain CDs from them. Thankfully I found CD Japan. My first purchase from CD Japan was a CD/DVD from BAND-MAID that I had been looking for for quite some time. CD Japan had it in stock and it was on sale!. Without hesitation I ordered the product right away. CD Japan made it that easy. I would also like to say that the website is so user friendly and can be seen in English, which is very important to me, as I have not learned any useful Japanese yet. CD Japan is such a fantastic site for music lovers, I would recommend them to everyone.

I have used CDJapan to purchase Japanese books in the past 12 months on over 10 occasions, with multiple books each time, and they have been great. They have a huge range of books, the website is easy to navigate, shipping is prompt and the parcels are always packed really well to protect the books. On the odd occasion that I've had queries they have answered promptly. The only thing is that shipping is expensive, but that's not really their fault but the fact that Japan post has suspended air shipping to Australia indefinitely, and the price of other couriers have only gone up due to Covid and huge demand. Also, on a few occasions, they have contacted me after my purchases to inform me that the shipping price has increased due to the actual total weight of the items being adjusted. I just wish that they can get the total weight and associated shipping costs correct from the beginning so that people are not surprised by additional shipping costs after having made the purchase, especially given that shipping costs are already quite high (they do give you the option to cancel the order if you did not accept the increased shipping cost). Be regardless I would not hesitate to use them again, and would recommend anyone else interested in buying Japanese items to check out CDJapan.

I have been a long time buyer with CDJapan and I have praises for their service and quality. The thing that impressed me is that all new items are presented in a timely fashion and their packing is always immaculate.

Prices and shipping speeds are reasonable and nothing arrives damaged. I would normally recommend CDJapan to my friends.

I love the proxy shopping service. A little costly but very convenient and I've found many items I couldn't otherwise find through the service. (And it's still cheaper than Amazon Japan!) Delivery is quick, the items always safely packed. CDJapan is my go-to for when I'm looking for items from Japan. :)

I have been using CDJapan since 2015 til present day. Initially, I was skeptical because I had never used this kind of service before. Since I placed my first order, CDJapan has been my go to store for anime/manga merchandise. Compared to other stores that offer similar services, CDJapan's prices have always been the most reasonable. They have even gone above and beyond to procure items for me that they normally do not have listed (special collector's edition, etc.)

In recent years due to Covid, their shipping price has increased. Japan's postal service itself was hit pretty bad which is why the shipping prices have gone up. CDJapan cannot currently offer the cheaper shipping options because the Japanese postal service is still shut down in many areas of operations, they were really hurt by Covid, it's not CDJapan's fault. This is something I have seen firsthand as CDJapan is not the only service I use, I have had other companies also tell me their shipping was badly affected.

Regarding any issues I have had with my orders from CDJapan, sometimes I have had to cancel items and although they do not normally allow cancelations, they would cancel and refund the order to me. I have a paypal billing agreement signed with them so that I can combine orders to save on shipping. I have constantly taken their surveys asking them to expand the merchandise they sell. To their credit, 9/10 times they have gotten me what I wanted (Japan has the best anime/manga merch). They are working to expand to offer more and even better services. I hope to continue using them.

CDJapan has been an amazing and possibly the best Japanese goods (buying) site I have encountered. I have bought items from other websites and I was never confident that my items would arrive in general. In my personal experience, all the items I have received came in perfect condition and fast (considering the fact that it came overseas). I am not the best at reviews so all I can say is that I have been using this site for a year now and I plan to continue using CDJapan.

I have never had a bad experience with CDJapan, and am always satisfied with my shopping experience. From selection, to ease of website use, to packaging and shipping speed, CDJapan is reliable and consistent. I would definitely recommend doing business with them

I have made almost hundred orders with CDjapan within these 15 years and never encountered any problems. They shipped fast with meticulous packaging. The customer service always reply me instantly.

I checked prior reviews first and was a bit worried about seeing the "they double charge" and other unwelcome surprises, but I was after an incredibly hard to find item so had no alternatives. Reading the site FAQ's before ordering I noticed a "if you modify your active order we charge the entire total again and refund the old amount."

To avoid this I made a purchase via PayPal for a single CD/Blu-ray item and told them "no, I don't give permanent Paypal charging permission" when asked to click "Yes." Sacrificing the ability to modify the order as it was being prepared.

A few days later the item was packed and shipped via DHL as selected. Even included a stock photo of the box dimensions. Very nicely packaged and included a copy of the invoice inside without request. Absolutely plan to buy again, perhaps more than one item this time. No unwelcome surprises at all, extra fees or anything else.
