Never, never use this company. Never been more ripped off. Was given a beat up 7 seater for family vacation along Croatian coastline. Peugeot 5008 turned up with longs of dings, bangs and scratches. Almost too many to check and double check. Then a few days in car engine warning light went on too. Returned car on time, and they got me for some dust on a wheel arch that rubbed off. Held me hostage to a large deposit I had to give up front. No option. Computer said no - and said would cost 450 Euros to fix. Tried to take photographs of ‘it’ could even capture it on camera as so faint - being lost in the noise of loads of other scratches and dinks. Never had an experience like it - so trapped by their policy and only focus on scamming more money. Don’t know how companies get away with it. Don’t go with them - you’ll be ripped off!!!

Will not be using CarWiz Alicante Airport ever again.
I made an error on collection time when booking the car through Do you spain which meant we arrived 2hours after the booking start time, no problem accepting that was my fault, BUT my booking had already been cancelled yet they still picked me up from the airport and didn’t make me aware of the cancellation until arriving at the offsite office!! Clearly a method to trap you in and make more money! Beware this applies even if your flight is delayed!!!

I had to pay a 50€ admin fee to re activate my booking or be dropped back to the airport which would waste more time and mean I have to rebook with another rental company, clearly a method just to make more money! Staff claimed my booked car wasn’t available yet they have a brand new car I can have instead, clearly this was always my car and they were lying.

The worst part was returning the car, the inspection was unlike anything I have ever experienced, the rep went over every inch of the car looking for problems, when he noticed the boot had sand in it (considering this is a tourist hotspot this is to be expected) he flapped his hands the air and said ‘what is this man?’
Told me I had to pay €25 euros for additional cleaning!!! It was a very minimal amount of sand!!
Claiming it would take the company 30minutes extra to clean the sand out, after arguing I took the car to a local petrol station and cleaned the sand out in under 2 minutes brought it back and he was fine with it!
Rude, unhelpful staff who have no problem lying to your face and clearly just out for hidden charges and not a good customer experience!

We knew they were dodgy when the first thing they said was we have Zero tolerance on damage - no matter how small. Then came the enforced extra payments. They wouldn't accept our credit card as it wasn't embossed (they've clearly found a loophole here that they use as banks don't issue embossed cards anymore). Refused to try the embossed card I found but was more than happy to put an extra charge of £134 on non embossed card. They keep you there for hours until you are do frustrated you will pay - because you know there's definitely going to be trouble on the return!! They were pulling the same stunt with a lady who was in the office at the same time. Terrible first impression of Romania and will certainly never use this company again.

We booked a car from them in Dubrovnik and dropped off in Split.
When we picked the car up we were told we needed extra insurance and we had to pay a €200.00 deposit.
The car we got was badly marked all over, really not a nice car.
Anyway, we returned the car with extra petrol, the car was checked and passed but the deposit hasn't been returned.
We have phoned, emailed a number of times with only one reply saying they are waiting for my bank to accept the transfer????
The service is poor and after service is even worse.
Stay away from them

Do not rent from scamwiz! Charged me 200 PLN for re-fueling service even I returned car with full tank which was filled up couple of hundred meters from return point. SCAM SCAM SCAM

Booked car hire via DoyouSpain. Picking up at Alicante Airport. I was already in Spain but picking up a car as family members were flying in. I contacted customer services explaining that I didn't have a flight reference for them to monitor for pick up and I would just call them to be collected, as they are "off airport". I was informed I must have a flight number and boarding pass to make the booking. I had already made the booking so that was nonsense. They said they wouldn't be able to process the booking and they would have to cancel the booking. They weren't interested that I had the paperwork. Madness.

Highly recommend not to use this appallingly bad car rental company.

I originally booked the car via Wizz Air and it gave me Car Wizz in Skopje airport. Realising I had mistakenly made myself main driver I called them day before flight and they agreed my wife could be second driver and collect car. My wife arrived with our children to collect car on time at 10pm the car was not available, they offered an alternative car which was not an automatic, this was also not available. My wife had to pay for a 2 hour taxi drive to Strumica and she had our children with her. When I requested a refund they refused, saying main driver had not collected the car, even though they agrred my wife could collect and the car was not available anyway. I feel completely let down by their appalling behavior, under no circumstances should you use this car rental company.

FRAUD ALERT DON’T USE THIS RENTAL COMPANY! THEY ALSO GO BY AMERICA CAR RENTAL! THEY SCAM ALL AROUND THE COUNTRY!

America Car Rental through Economy Bookings is a scam and a fraud; don't book through this third party it's all corrupt. They also hide under other popular third parties: named; Expedia, Car Rental, and Travelocity. Beware they also scam people under the name CarWiz Rent A Car. On our confirmation they state to pick up the vehicle at the airport G and there's not even a terminal G at the Bush Airport. They aren't even at the airport rental facility. They are inside the Ramada hotel by the freeway away from the airport facilities. They won't give you the reserved vehicle that you paid for and they will try to overcharge you 3 times the amount you reserved the vehicle for. Then, they'll claim that you canceled and put you as a no-show so the bank won't reverse the charges. They will try to keep your money by sending the bank false documentation that you didn't show up. Even the number for Economy Bookings is fake and doesn't work (347-897-9795). This fraud car rental location has everyone in on it's on going scam and it's inside of the Ramada hotel address: 6115 Will Clayton Parkway, Humble, TX 77338. I have confirmed with the hotel staff and they informed me that the rental location pays to rent inside their hotel and are scamming people thinking we are all from out of town but we are actually local to the area.

Stay Away! Don't go with this company!

London Office
Unable to supply the type of car that had been paid for. An upgrade offered at an additional 40 pounds a day, reduced to 20 pounds , the vehicle was supplied with 1/8 of a tank of fuel and was told to bring it back empty.
6 weeks after returning the vehicle the security deposit of 200 pounds has still not been returned. Looking at contacting the UK Small Claims office.
At this stage, I could not recommend this company.

I can only add to the reviews on here and urge you NOT to use this company!. We rented a car in Malta in June.
We were ripped off for damages, deposits, excesses, insurances ...you name it. We were promised money returned within 15 days of the end of June and are still waiting!.

The ironic thing is these people are being recommended by Easyjet, who are supposed to be a reputable company themselves?

If I could give 0* I would. Heathrow branch. When we arrived there were 4 other customers in the office, no-one left with a vehicle, and everyone was similarly treated. Staff were uninterested, rude, slow and sarcastic - disgraceful way to speak to customers. Be extremely careful in reading T&C's and bring all the requirements - alternatively, do yourself a favour and simply book elsewhere. Enterprise down the road were not much more expensive (less than £50 more for 5 days), and an absolute breeze.

⭐ 1/5 – WARNING! Unexpected cost of €260

I strongly advise against renting a car from Carwiz Sarajevo.

I already had insurance through my credit card that covers car rentals. Despite this, I was told at the time of pick-up that I had to purchase their SCDW insurance and that it was not possible to opt out.

The result was an additional cost of €260 – even though I already had my own insurance coverage.

The most remarkable thing is that SCDW is marketed as an additional insurance, but at the time of pick-up I felt that I had no choice. In my opinion, this should be extremely clear even before the customer books and pays.

I have rented a car from several other rental companies and have never experienced being forced to buy additional insurance in this way.

€260 is no small fee, and for me it changed the entire cost of the rental.

My advice to anyone considering Carwiz Sarajevo: ask in writing before booking if SCDW is really mandatory and what the total cost will be. Don't just trust that it says "additional insurance".

For me, the trust in the company is gone. I will not rent a car from Carwiz again and cannot recommend them to others.

I called as soon as I landed and met guy right outside car rental place. They run a hotel/car rental business so it is different. Young lady helped me quickly & got me on my way with a truck. (I did pay extra to add a driver & eazy pass for tolls) I got updates on what to do before returning vehicle & was dropped off at my gate :)

We rented a car for 6 days and made sure to clean it thoroughly before returning it. At the return desk, the employee inspected the car and told us it was in perfect condition. Despite that, we were later charged an additional €25 cleaning fee.
When I contacted customer service, they simply told me that I had to provide photos proving the car was clean. Why would I take photos after being told everything was fine and that the car was in perfect condition?
This feels very unfair and dishonest. Based on this experience, I will never rent from this company again. I cannot recommend a company that treats its customers this way.

Do not rent a car from Carwitz (or through DoYouItaly). I was supposed to be picked up from Cagliari airport as soon as I called Carwitz. In the end, I wasn't picked up, and I was told the rental car was broken down. Carwitz advised me to simply rent a car from another company. Now, Carwitz denies all of this, I am getting no cooperation from DoYouItaly, and I will likely lose my prepaid deposit. So, do not do business with either of these companies.

SCAM!!!! I booked them through Priceline, and they upcharged me when I arrived to pick up the vehicle. As I had no other choice, I followed through. After complaining to them post my trip, they agreed to offer me credit if I sent them a video of me submitting perfect feedback on Priceline, but they did not give me anything. They are complete liars and scammers; save yourself the time and energy and rent from a reputable company.

Avoid Carwiz Cagliari Airport at all costs! This company uses aggressive extortion tactics and shows absolutely zero respect for families. We arrived at the counter at 20:30 with our 6-year-old child to pick up our pre-booked car (Booking Reference via Enjoy Travel: ENJ-34628315).The desk staff immediately refused our standard, physical DKB Visa Credit Card with chip, falsely claiming that "online banks" are not allowed. During the argument, the agent even explicitly claimed that Enjoy Travel had never forwarded our deposit money to them.Moments later, the scam became completely obvious: the staff contradicted themselves and told us we COULD take the vehicle with the exact same DKB card, but ONLY if we agreed to pay DOUBLE the original price (1,300 Euros)! This is a textbook example of fraud and extortion of stranded tourists.When we refused this illegal price increase and politely asked to speak with the manager to clarify the situation, the staff became highly aggressive, insulted us, and kicked our family out of the office. They left us stranded on the street at night with a small, exhausted child and no transportation. This behavior is shocking, malicious, and a clear breach of consumer laws. We are taking legal action and reporting this directly to the European Consumer Centre (ECC).

Well first the good points. Car was nice and arranging the rental was easy. The problem arose when returning the car back to Pula airport.
I had filled the tank up with fuel prior to leaving the town we were staying in which is about a 40 min drive. I had intended to just top it up near the airport. As we got close to the airport it became apparent that the nearest fuel station was just over 15 minutes away in the wrong direction. I decided therefore to return the car and let them know that the tank wasn’t completely full with the expectation that they would top it up using money from my deposit of 100 euros.
The girl on the desk said I could pay 20 euros in cash or it would be 32 euros taken from my card because of a service charge. As I had no euros left I said they’d have to use my card. Funnily enough, her computer system wouldn’t connect and as I had to get my flight she said she’d do it as soon as her system was up and running again.
Well, they have taken double the amount stated at 61.50 euros! They’ve finally responded to my emails stating that the fuel was 32 euros PLUS another service charge making it 61.50.
Lesson learned and I’ll never use this robbing company again, Do yourselves a favour, book with an honest reputable company and leave these thieves well alone.

Hidden fees that were never mentioned upfront. The car was already damaged when we picked it up, and they tried to pin the responsibility on us. Take videos of the vehicle before you drive off, it’s the only way to protect yourself.

The insurance they sold us turned out to be worthless when we actually needed it.

And that’s just part of it. A complete scam. Stay away.
