One of the worst decisions of my life to book a Carnival Cruise

Originally, we have booked a cruise at MSC. This cruise has been cancelled on short notice because of Hurricane Milton. We checked an alternative that we found at Carnival. Everything looked perfect, the lady at the booking hotline was friendly.
The next day, the cruise got shortened one day because of Milton. The lady on the phone promised us to get a refund for one day plus 100 USD onboard credit or a full refund if we cancel. We went for the first option, so it was only a three day cruise.
The first day started at 5 pm (so not really a full day). We were on hold for two hours at the check inn. On board it was so far so good, nice food, some entertainment, a casino...
The next day we arrived at the Grand Bahamas where we spent the whole day, we were back at the ship at 5 pm. The next shock: Carnival has deducted more than 30 USD tip per person without asking. Incredible!

The next day up from 7 we were asked to finish and leave the ship. Not a full day as well.

Back home I waited for the credit of one day. After several calls, the lady on the phone wanted to tell me that I will not get it because I booked one day too early and the credit would not be applicable for me although the lady in the first call when it was about to decide to sail or not ensured me to get the credit.

I feel cheated and if I don't get it, I will never book with Carnival again.

Don't book here, go to cheaper, more serious competitors that don't rip you off!

Took a cruise to Nassau on the Carnival…

Took a cruise to Nassau on the Carnival Sunshine.
This was our 3 rd cruise on this ship because it is the only one that leaves directly from Charleston.

We could not port in Nassau due to weather and the only accommodation we received was a measly $100 room credit.
While we understand we could not port due to weather we simply did not receive the full value we paid for.
When we filed a complaint all we got was a sorry but not sorry we are keeping your money.

Every time we have sailed on this particular ship the windows are filthy and the food keeps getting worse.

This trip there was only one main show on the last night. The other nights were simply game shows.

Horrible experience

Impossible to contact, wont release funds

Like many others, I've been waiting four weeks for the release of my pending funds. The full payment was taken from my account the day after disembarkation, yet the same amount is still held as pending. Carnival claims that the bank needs to release it, while the bank says they can't do so without approval from Carnival. I've sent two emails, with only an automated reply to the second one, promising a response within five days. No response. I reached out via Facebook, and they said email replies can take up to 45 days!! Pathetic and terrible customer service.

Highly Recommend NOT TO USE

I have used Carnival cruises a few times, but the last cruise with them is the very LAST. Customer Services very poor, pools too small. Allowed children in all pools and no pool attendants, including adult only pool, which had children in too. Food not to cruise expectations too. We have complained too about their medical services, clearly trying to rip customers off!. Highly recommend not to use them. Better to pay extra for a cruiseline who provide a better service throughout.

FIRST AND LAST CARNIVAL CRUISE

We were on a Carnival Paradise chartered cruise Oct. 19-24, 2024. Our first impression came at the bar on Deck 7. There were people 3-4 deep at each chair at the bar with 2 bartenders. We timed the bartender after we ordered, and it took 14 minutes to get our drinks. We had a similar wait at the Blue Iguana and the Rotterdam bars, and we never got served in the Normandie Lounge. We ate in the Paris Restaurant buffet each morning for breakfast and dinner one night. The food selection was the same every day. The meats, whether ribs or chicken, were dried out and drowned in sauce. We ate in the Elation dining room. The food selection was mediocre at best and the service was even worse. The daily menu is on the Hub app, but we were not always able to access the Hub. We were not offered a paper menu from which to order. My husband ordered a drink when we gave our dinner order and didn't receive it until we got our dessert. We like to eat bread, we kept asking for them to leave the basket, and they would just give us one piece at a time. The last night, we were offered white or red wine with dinner, I don't drink either, so I ordered a rose. While other dinner guests were having their glasses refilled, I was not asked if I wanted another glass. I honestly don't know if Carnival slacked because it was a charter, so they didn't think they had to offer their best, but this was my first and last cruise with Carnival. Very disappointing considering the first impression I got from the CEO Christine Duffy was VERY positive. Perhaps she is not aware of the level of service.

We just joined the 2024 Radiance cruise…

We just joined the 2024 Radiance cruise from October 13th to 27th. Because there was no disinfectant provided on the ship, we had diarrhea every day after eating the food on the ship. In the last three days on the ship, both of us fell ill, and we suddenly felt very sick at night. I had pain and fever. I spent the last three days sleeping in my room during the day, unable to get out of bed. I still had cold symptoms after returning home.

Buy last minute only

Never buy from them a cruise more than 1 month before the departure or you will lose big. No matter what they promise you, you'll end up paying much higher price. Their lowest price possible guarantee is a bad joke.

Carnival Stole my money

I made a reservation for the Carnival Paradise. Set to sail at Tampa Port, then the Helen Huracan came at the same day that we had to sail. I called and called to reschedule my vacation and never gave me a solution, never gave me a refund and stole my money. No options at all, this companie stole my money and never gave me a solution.

Accessibility and communication

I haven’t even got on the cruise yet but received and email 5 days before due date to say we couldn’t bring my 90year old mums wheelchair on board. I have been trying to get in contact ever since and been on hold with various companies. I thought I’d booked with P&O.

Wish I've seen the reviews before booking...cancelled cruise

Wish I've seen the reviews before booking...

They cancelled my cruise and did not inform me!
I flew from the UK to Orlando. Only found out it was cancelled the day before, when I tried to check in.

Their customer service is very arrogant and do not care about all the extra expenses I had due to cancellation.

I did not even receive my refund from the cancelled cruise!

Obviously they do not read Trustpilot and don't care, but hopefully this will help someone.

Find Any Other Cruise Line (Do NOT GO CARNIVAL)

I absolutely hate to say this, because I NEVER expected to spend such an amount of money for such a NEGATIVE cruise experience.
This will be the last time my family, or anyone in my extended family will sail with Carnival Cruise Lines again!

Before we went, we had helped some of our family and close friends book their trip on the Jubilee.
As soon as we got off board we called them and they all immediately canceled, after the review we shared with them.

From the absolutely disgusting bedding, stains on each and every corner (which resembled human feces).
This was brought to our state room attendants attention and nothing changed!

Also the bartender at the Watering Hole Bar slamming my wife’s pop on the counter spilling it all over her, simply because she requested a straw for her Pepsi.

I had also called (3) different representatives prior to boarding about bringing wine bottles onto the ship.
After explaining the difficulties of carrying 4 bags and baby stroller and a 10 month old baby.
I was instructed to let the security know the situation before we boarded. My bottles were looked over and then the bottles would be notated and brought to the room back in the bag due to the situation without the ability to bring it on the carryon baggage.
But lo and behold my bag was missing for 3 days, nobody could find my luggage, until I was told it’s possible sitting by an elevator downstairs unwatched by anyone.
All of the luggage tags on each of the bags had been ripped off by your loading team and never replaced.
Even security hadn’t a clue where to find my luggage, along with about 15-20 other people’s unmarked luggage just sitting in some random corner.

Once I finally received my bag, your “security team” took it upon themselves to pillage through my luggage.
Then they took it upon themselves throw away my wife’s and I’s 5 year wedding anniversary bottle of wine. “IT WAS MY FINALY GIFT FROM MY DECEASED GRANDMOTHER!!!!” and you DESTROYED IT!!!!!
When I told the Guest Services his response was “rules are rules and that’s too bad about your situation.”

However, with all your rules and regulations you allowed a hair strainer, and a curling iron on without issue?!?
Yet, you disposed of my $200 clothing steamer, that can’t produce enough heat to cause a flame?!?

And once again the feedback giving from your customer service teams was “That is too bad, we’ve gone ahead and destroyed your all your products without your permission.
IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM ARE “YOU” ALLOWED TO DESTROY OTHERS PROPERTY!!!!!
That is theft and destruction of property where I live in the United States, this is punishable by LAW!!!!
Had I destroyed any portion your ship, you would have fined me HEAVILY to prove your point and ensure I’d never forget what I did.
Yet, you will destroy innocent people’s things without warning.

Shame on you and your whole cruise line!!!
Your tactics are sicking, and I hope the shame hangs heavy with you daily.
You all smile and act as you are for the people, yet you completely disregard other people’s property and feelings.

I know this won’t be the first or last time you completely take advantage of your guests.
But remember, there will be a day we all get judged for our actions.
I’d hate to be you, or any part of your team on your judgement day.
So thank you for taking full advantage of a family who needed a break after living a life of pain and suffering for the past 2 years.

(Oh, and Carnival won’t tell you this but almost every single one of their beaches have sand fleas that will bite you relentlessly.)

Mother 1st & Daughter 3rd Cruise

Our ship was notified 2 days before 9/1 Carnival Vista that our ports was changed to Bahamas Freeport, Half Moon Cay and Nassau. The ship had issues the port was chaotic when it came time to board. We got on the ship at 1:15pm. Our stateroom was actually ready because we boarded so late. Our steward Nyoman was fantastic kept our room stocked and clean and we didn't have to ask for anything. His assistant was a gem as well. Deion by far was the best cruise director. Engaging, fun, friendly, entertaining and his whole fun squad from the ent crew, djs, and all the staff was exceptional. The buffet on the lido were good. The iced tea and lemonade machines were often flavorless and they should have checked them regularly. The deli staff was fantastic and got everyone's order out no matter how crowded it was. Guys, pizza, taco were delicious. The bathrooms were clean all the time but the women were so nasty when using the lavatory. The main dining room members Kaycee, Jonel, Mark, Rogie, Lemuel & Raf July customer service was 150% *****. Attentive, funny, personable, felt like family and friends. They all made my mom's 1st cruise dining experience. Booked inside cabin on the 9th flr for the 1st time cozy but the garbage can was too small. The shows amazing, comedy, club, bars and the shopping, casino. The casino has 2 areas smoking and non smoking which is smaller. Had alot of games I enjoyed and you can win. Bets from 50 cents and up. I will come back to the Vista once the ship is back to 100% to visit the other ports.

This was my first cruise

This was my first cruise. The food was horrible! Someone puked in the pool so they closed it down for 2 days! The ship was very old and dirty! Public toilets were flooded! They canceled the White party on the last night with no explanation why. Most of the crew looked miserable. The shows were terrible. The A/C in the cabins would not go below 76! The cabin bathroom smelt like cat pee! I would not recommend carnival!

The trip with carnival has ben horrible

The trip with carnival has been terrible.
Never have I been through anything like this in my life. We travel with carnival every year and this year was such a disappointment. Let’s start with Delta Airlines , we are a wedding party of 16 who boarded the plane from Milwaukee to Atlanta , to New Orleans. When we got to New Orleans the plane made a detour to Jackson Mississippi because of “Wind issues” . We sat in Jackson for over an hour while they got fuel and got situated. MIND YOU they had already let another plane land in New Orleans with no problems. When we finally landed in New Orleans they made wait over an hour for our luggage because “they don’t send there workers out in the rain”. After sitting for so long we finally make it to carnival cruise . We were waiting to board and the carnival workers made us step to the side and let 22 other people on the cruise before leaving us. We watched the boat sail away and then we were told we get a penalty for the cruise because we “canceled” which we never canceled they just didn’t let us board. They said it was because they were on a carnival shuttle and they were instructed to wait for them only. The crazy part is , we were all on the same delayed flight & we made it there before the carnival shuttle and they still didn’t let us board. So 3 of our 16 wedding party made the cruise. The carnival workers called the police on us for trying to figure things out as far as where we were going etc.. they were very inconsiderate and rude and I will no longer be attending a cruise with carnival.

Carnival is the WORST cruise line you…

Carnival is the WORST cruise line you could go on!!! There food is horrible, they do not treat there consumers good and frankly only care for the money. They took pour deposit when we booked the cruise, and wouldn't give our money back because the payment was late. We also went on a cruise in 2016, and it went on fire. I highly recommend not going on this cruise line. Try princess, Royal cirribean, or Disney cruises instead.

Our recent Cunard cruise

Our recent Cunard cruise we would never go with again. We were on queen victoria we had so many problems with cabin. Wrote to customer services they were useless the lady we spoke to from customer services was very rude and pedantic. So we wrote to the president and had one response to tell us they had referred our letter back to the lady we had complained to in the first place. Sent loads of replies to them and never had a reply. We would really recommend to think twice about going with cunard

Carnival Cruise AFT Stateroom was a waste of money! one of…

Carnival Cruise AFT Stateroom is one of the most expensive balcony rooms. We spent around $1500. for our 30th anniversary for this room. BIG Mistake!

We had NO hot water in our room for 3 of the 4 day cruise. We missed the first excursion waiting for a plumber, spending time at guest services and waiting. After 3 days a plumber came and told us that our room was above the engine and the water never got turned back on after maintenance was performed. Guest services offered wine and a $23 upgrade to dinner. They reassured us Carnival would help after the cruise. See ending paragraph the best they can offer.

Day 4 our toilet started flushing and wouldn't stop. It created a screaming noise that was so loud you could hear it at the elevators. They tore our toilet off the wall and it took over an hour before they (took 3 men) fixed it HOWEVER they left us with towel soaked sewage on the floor and told us NOT to use the bathroom until cleaning services could come. It was 1:00 pm when they left. Cleaning services came 8:00pm day 4 of 4.
So 4 of 4 days of our cruise we had either no hot water to clean our bodies, or a toilet to go to the bathroom, lol. We had to use our neighbors toilet, and day 3 go up a different floor to take a shower. No offer to move us was given nor was any type of refund.

Carnival's attempt to fix the problem...
They offered us 15% off our next cruise and $50 credit. They said it was the BEST they could offer. I get better coupons from Carnival, lol.

Carnival Cruise will never be used by us again. It was a complete waste of money and customer service is terrible. I recommend seeking out a cruise line that cares about their guests having the basic working necessities in their rooms.

Gold member and this will be my last Carnival cruise

I'm a Gold member and the cruise I'm on will be the last I ever take with Carnival. On the Celebration 8-day Southern Caribbean.
Where to start, bought a suite which comes with priority boarding. Made a reservation for check-in, waited 2 hours to get on. Supposed to be the 1st to get luggage, at 7:00 I was still waiting. Service is poor to subpar, food quality hastanked with Carnival. This ship is acheap gimmicky money grab that offers the same overall value that you get when traveling Carnival/Fair comes to your town. Prior to this post I cancelled my end of year cruise with Carnival. This experience was atrocious and Carnival as a whole has become a poor choice of you're looking for quality, value for your money or an overall enjoyable experience.

Awful experience

Awful experience! Be careful in the women's bathrooms. I had the floor grate come up on my foot. Medical is not good. the attending physician at the time was outstanding but the MAs were found to be nonchalant. I could get crutches due to them saying they didn't have any and offering of a wheelchair was not presented to me. I hopped around for the rest of the cruise with a bandaged foot.
