I have recently purchased a relatively low value item from this company and, a couple of months later it developed a slight fault.
I seriously considered not reporting the problem but eventually did contact the company and was enormously impressed about how they responded.
They very quickly owned the problem and set about securing a solution. They could so easily have referred me back to the manufacturer for consideration under their warranty but they did not. Once they had identified the fault they immediately replaced the item from their own stock and have gone "at risk" hoping the manufacturer will honour the warranty rather than keep me waiting. I had two telephone conversations with the company and they could not have been more helpful or constructive and at no time did I feel I was being a nuisance.....they were also extremely relaxed and friendly.
I can honestly say it was the best customer service I have ever received , and that was for a small low value item. I can only say I would be happy to entrust my "big spend" items to Carmarthen Camera's, they are the real deal and deserve to be successful. I am not surprised to see all the very positive reviews they attract.
Do give them a try.

Have recently purchased from Carmarthen Cameras both directly and also through EBay and on both occasions found them to be competively priced, dealt with my order promptly and as a bonus offered free delivery. Overall a great all round service and will definately be purchasing from them again.

I needed advice on purchasing a 'beginners to birdwatching' pair of binoculars without over committing to price. Purchased an entry level 8x42 upon their recommendation and they are ideal.
I had purchased an DSLR camera a few years ago, and pleased that the level of service is the same.

We bought a new DSLR from Carmarthen Cameras last week for a special birthday.
We had more or less decided which model we were interested in, we then found Carmarthen online, and conducted the entire transaction on the phone with Andy.
Andy talked us through the characteristics/advantages of the camera and the alternatives and was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with us, throughout.
Once we had finally decided on the camera Andy sent us an email quote and then despatched the camera and its accessories to us, it arrived the next day. We are now enjoying it!
The whole experience of buying the camera was incredibly positive and we couldn’t recommend Carmarthen Cameras and Andy more highly.

My Silverfast 8 software started crashing after an update. Joe was very kind and took me through several possible remedies, He was patient and his voice extremely clear, Eventually the problem was resolved and I am back scanning 35mm slides again. I could not have found a better person to help me with finding a solution.

I telephoned your shop for advice on a Lens for my son’s Christmas present and I received a recommendation from Joe, who took time to explain what the product was about, he sent a link and also I send him a picture of the camera to guarantee He was recommending the write product.

After scanning Camerapricebuster for the new Olympus 100-400 lens, I found it was on pre-order or waiting stock with almost everyone. Then noticed Carmarthen Cameras was showing one in stock. Immediately put it in the basket. Used the chat function to ask if it was really in stock? Quick reply said yes it was. Ordered 0942 Thursday. Chose free delivery. Arrived 0959 Friday. What fantastic service.

Joe was very helpful in dealing with my inquiries. He even made a couple of very smart little videos to demonstrate the answer to my questions.

Happy customer. Goods delivered on time and securely wrapped, any queries that I had were dealt with quickly and efficiently, would certainly deal with this company again.

I phoned them at 3PM and ordered a new lens. I tried to pay online, but it ended up quicker over the phone. This took a little while, but they went out of their way to get it despatched and I was delighted to receive it the next morning.

I lost the instructions for my new telescope so i phoned and spoke to joe. He was very helpful. Although he couldn't find the exact one for me he sent me two pdf's and a link for a YouTube video. I managed to put the telescope together in under an hour. I'm thankful for all his help.

Great service from the friendly team. We had a problem with an item purchased through no fault of theirs and they dealt with it excellently and very fast and even reimbursed our postage costs. Very friendly, very helpful and would highly recommend.

Frankly, I'm more than a little disappointed with this company. Prior to purchase, I contacted them to confirm the details of a camera they had listed on eBay (Item description: Seller Refurbished, Open box item, Good as New) - Having done so, I quickly received a message from a lady called Helen. She assured me the camera was factory sealed and that it came complete with a 2‑year warranty. Happy with this information, I proceeded to purchase and some days later, the camera duly arrived.

However, instead of the factory sealed camera that I was promised, what they actually sent was an obviously used, dusty and damaged item. The base of the camera was scratched and the door covering the battery compartment was clearly damaged and dislodged. In addition to this, all of the included accessories were open and simply dropped in the bottom of box, with no attempt being made to wrap or protect them. Assuming this was a mistake on their part, I immediately contacted Carmarthen Cameras to let them know the state of the camera and the fact that it was being returned.

Sadly, they didn't even have the courtesy to acknowledge my message or bother to explain why the camera I received was in such poor condition. To add insult to injury, neither did they refund my payment until after I had contacted them again. My refund request was made a full two days after the camera had been returned. Strangely at this point, they then asked for postage tracking details and also wanted to know exactly what was wrong with their eBay listing (Item description: Seller Refurbished, Open box item, Good as New)

My future purchases will continue to come from businesses that I know and trust. After this recent unhappy experience, I don't see myself approaching Carmarthen Cameras again anytime soon!

Update: When I left negative eBay feedback for them, this was swiftly removed. I queried the removal with eBay and received an apology. I was told that my negative feedback was removed in error. However, I was also told their system does not allow feedback to be reinstated once removed.

eBay feedback: They told me camera was Brand New/Factory Sealed (It was VERY obviously USED)

Over the last 2 months or so I have purchased a lens and 2 camera bags from Carmarthen Cameras.
The service received is exemplary, the after sales help I needed was first class and the shop is an absolutely fantastic place to visit for any photographer.
