AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!! Was sold a car that was advertised as having a full service history, This is important as it would be the guarantee for out future kia warranty repair s (2 years left) Conveniently on perchace day they still where un able to produce them. We trusted that they would be send as they also had no v5 for the car having to reapply for a new one eventually... well after the reverse camera stopped working and the aircon was out of gas so we thought... we took the car to our local garage who has been trusted to fix our cars for years. He informed us that the car has been in a front and rear collision, that the air con was not out of gass but where it had been in a collision it has no pipes atall, and he wouldn't be able to fit new ones due to the ammout of movement backwards if the engine from the front end damage. There are cracks in the engine tray, oil leaks and to top it off he said it had been repaired with wood screws FFS. They use the garage sitting next door to there business in a chop shop manner to fool people in to giving them your money. Making the cars look good for sales day and a month if your lucky, afterwards. As dodgy as there crappy fake turkey teeth, avoid like the plague unless you want to be down thousands like we are!! I would strongly advise potential…

I would strongly advise potential buyers to be very cautious before purchasing a car from Capital Car Automotive (London).
I purchased a Toyota RAV4 on 2 March 2026 for £22,500. Before completing the purchase, I carried out a AA pre‑purchase inspection, but only after receiving confirmation from the dealer that any identified issues (including wear and tear) would be addressed.
The AA inspection highlighted several issues, including engine vibration/shaking. I was later informed that all reported issues had been fixed and that the car was ready for collection. Based on this assurance, I travelled to London and collected the car.
At the time of collection, I was also promised car mats, which were said to have been ordered for delivery within 10 days. Unfortunately, these were never provided, despite repeated follow‑ups.
Shortly after returning to Manchester, on 16 March, an engine warning light appeared on the dashboard. I contacted the dealer immediately and was advised to take the car to one of their recommended mechanics in Manchester. I did so on two consecutive days, but the issue was not identified or resolved. During this time, I had a six‑week‑old baby, which made the situation particularly stressful.
On 19 March, I formally exercised my right to reject the vehicle. Initially, I was told there would be deductions and administrative fees, which I did not agree with. The rejection was finally accepted on 23 March.
From that point onward, communication became extremely difficult. My calls and emails went unanswered, and I was repeatedly told the relevant person was unavailable. Only after sending a formal notice stating I would pursue legal action did the dealer arrange to collect the car on 4 April.
I was told the refund would be processed within 14 days. During this period, I had no use of the vehicle, was not provided with any courtesy car, and had to arrange alternative transport while waiting for my own money to be returned. The refund was eventually received on 9 April.
Due to this experience, I incurred considerable additional costs, including:

AA inspection fee (£330)
Car mats (£80, which were never supplied)
Travel expenses to London (£150)
Insurance and cancellation costs (£160)

There were also delays related to DVLA paperwork, which added further inconvenience.
Overall, this was a very stressful and disappointing experience, especially at a time when I needed a reliable vehicle for my family. Based on my personal experience, I would not choose to buy from this dealer again and would recommend other buyers proceed with caution.

Very good experience with Ali & Adam at Capital Car Automotive

I purchased a Lexus 300 Hybrid through initially Ali and then Adam in completing the deal. I was initially a bit sceptical as I live in Devon so had to go and collect the car by train and then provided all was as stated, pay the balance and drive it home over 200 miles. Adam as one of the business owners certainly appreciated how far I had come and made sure everything was ready and in order so my initial scepticism was fortunately unfounded! I took the 5 day insurance (cost £45 but I saved double that by being able to get more competitive quotes for 5 days later as insurance companies rip you off for same day cover) and free AA cover with the 6-month warranty. Overall a very good experience with Ali and Adam being good communicators throughout the process. Based on my personal experience I would highly recommend this garage for a car purchase.
