Appaling quality of steak at Cafe Rouge, Sherwood Center Parcs
I visited Cafe Rouge at Center Parcs, Sherwood and ordered an 8oz steak. The steak arrived and a third of it was fat, sinew and grissel. The problem was escalated to the manager who did nothing to resolve my complaint. Not good enough Cafe Rouge, won't be returning
An evening out at Center Parcs…
During our stay at Center Parcs (Sherwood Forest), we went out to dine at Café Rouge. We both ordered a steak which was cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed our food. However, we found the meal to be expensive as there was no accompaniment (no mushrooms or onion rings). Just rocket and chips. Mushrooms were not available as extra either. We were not asked whether we shall add service charge or not. Still a pleasant evening.
Cafe Rouge Stratford Upon Avon well…
Cafe Rouge Stratford Upon Avon well what can I say.... Not the nice experience we'd hoped for at all, booked for my wife's birthday online where they asked if it was a special occasion. Seems it doesn't mean a jot as nothing was special about the visit so why bother blinking asking. Guy was ok but that's about it in fact my wife felt on edge with him. No warmth whatsoever. Meal was just ok. Near empty restaurant, we won't be going again. Wise up !!!
Corporate greed!
Can I say this review is not a reflection on the staff or quality of the food. Both are excellent. It’s about corporate greed which has become an epidemic in the hospitality industry. Now everyone likes a cooked breakfast and everyone likes a cooked breakfast with mushrooms, I think it is the law. Now how come the breakfast in cafe rouge comes with mushrooms as an extra option for £2! Corporate greed that’s what it is! A the plate is black pudding which I am sure most people don’t eat but no mushrooms! Come on cafe rouge stop ripping people off, it took the shine off my breakfast experience.
Shocking experience at St Katherines Dock Cafe Rouge
Well, I now understand why majority of Cafe Rouge restaurants has vanished.
We had to seat ourselves as the waitress after speaking with us regarding booking left us standing at the front entrance and started serving other customers.
Unfortunately majority of the tables were dirty so we had to wipe the table down ourselves.
For starters we ordered the king prawns in garlic butter with baguette for dipping - It would be bigger described as microwaved prawns in a dishwater coloured tasteless broth. The king prawns had clearly been microwaved from frozen and the dish was completely tasteless.
When asking for water we had to repeat our question on 3 separate occasions 5 minutes apart as noone appeared to go to task. After the third attempt of ordering water, 2 glasses were literally plonked down in front of us with no apology for the delay or even acknowledging our very existence.
For main course my husband had a goats cheese tomato tart. The tart looked and tasted like something out of lidls own brand selection - actually lidls quiches taste better than this rock hard and partly burnt reheated "tart". The accompanying salad was wilted (not in the good way) but as in spoilt which was in keeping with the rest of the meal and experience we endured.
At no point during our meal we're we asked if our food was okay, or if we needed anything. The staff like the decor appeared beyond tired and miserable.
We are absolutely astonished at the lack of service and the extremely poor standard of food served.
Needless to say, we will not return to this one or any other Cafe Rouge restaurants ever again.
Cafe rouge in London.
Cafe rouge in London.
Starter was meant to be garlic mushrooms on gluten free toast.
It came out as two large pieces of toast with stewed mushrooms swamped in blue cheese sauce absolutely disgusting.
The size was a size of a main meal.
Duck roast potatoes and spinach for my main.
This was served in a bowl? The food actually tasted nice but the cherry jus would have been nice if it had enough liquid to it to stop it from being too dry to eat.
I have to say I thought Cafe Rouge had gone completely under. I was surprised to see this restaurant and thought we would give it another go as we hadn't been to one for at least 12 years. We quickly realised why we had not been for so long and that we will never go again.
Cote here we come.

Excellent meal and service at Cafe Rouge in Longleat Center Parcs Very customer friendly and good banter from Jon and Laura.
Excellent customer service.
Menu was slightly limited. However, it was a very different experience in terms of the French style decor and our ham, cheese and egg toastie was awesome. The egg could’ve done with slightly more chives but apart from that it was a lovely cafe. Last but not least, the staff were excellent and we had an excellent conversation with the young lady who served us and felt very welcome. Unfortunately the branch we went to in the Mall at Cribbs Causeway, in Bristol is closing down within a month and this is a shame.

Booked a meal at Cardiff St David’s but was told when we arrived that they were not accepting Tesco Vouchers due to the Billy Joel concert being on.
It was too late to book anywhere else so had to pay full price to avoid disappointing my family.
Complete opportunism and exploitation from Cafe Rouge. Discounts shouldn’t change just because there is an event on….
Just phoned to make a booking
Just phoned to make a booking. In the end I realised I was talking to a virtual host voice who couldn't answer my questions. Finally the voice said "I'll put you through to someone who can help" then I got a recorded "we're too busy too answer your call message." So I'm booking somewhere else instead.
Sherwood Forest Cafe Rouge
Went to Sherwood Forest Cafe Rouge and asked for the demi poulet. The waitress asked if I would like green beans with it and I accepted. It turned up and was quite tasty but it was so small, just tiny, and the mash potatoes wasn't more than a tablespoonful. When the bill arrived, I was shocked to see that the beans (a small handful and barely cooked) were £4.75. There was no mention of this when I was offered them. Then there was also a tip added to the bill, again with no mention. So I actually ended up paying £22.25 for half of a tiny chicken. I did wonder why the place was almost empty? The place we had been to the night before had told us there was a 7.5% gratuity added, and we could remove it if we wanted to. To sum up, very expensive, small portions and bad communication.
I can hardly believe how disrespectful…
I can hardly believe how disrespectful this manager was ,we had tesco vouchers which we wanted to use up,we haven't one in are area ,we booked table for 7 15,at Cardiff cafe St David shopping venue ,we were 4 minutes late we don't live here, hence we had to find it the manager said you late when we said hello to him ,my husband commented we found some cafe rouge had closed, he said its because people like you with your tesco vouchers, how awful, if tesco do vouchers and cafe rouge do this for customers how is it pewith vouchers are to blame, we never commented and went on with are meal, luckily a nice girl sorted out are meal and drinks food was good, it ruined my evening as l felt like he thought we were expecting something for nothing, we can pay anywhere for are needs just thought we use vouchers, what's wrong with that, this manager needs to learn some manners and customer care,we're nice people, we didn't react to him but now l wish l did .
My friend and I went in for lunch today…
My friend and I went in for lunch today , we both ordered the prawns with bread in a butter sauce. The prawns still had all the shell on not just the tail as usual. They were very difficult to peel so I asked for a finger bowl, from the waitress after ten minutes I went to the counter and asked the man there for one who was very rude and said he would do when he had time. As it never arrived we asked another waitress, she did go and get a cup of water.I must say the place wasn’t full by any means. The attitude of the manager was not very professional ,he was a right misery . Not impressed at all. Won’t be going again

Dismal
Visited cafe Rouge at The Mall in Bristol. Words can't describe how awful my expensive sirloin was. Wasn't asked if I wanted a sauce. Never asked if we had any allergies (I can't stomach garlic). Loud building noises throughout. Very limited menu.
This used to be one of my favorites, not anymore
This used to be one of my favorite restaurants however since the menu changed it seems like a completely new place which has lost any allure it once had.
The food has gotten progressively worse.
Cribbs Causeway. Great late lunch!
Very efficient service.
Food great and super value! Such a great benefit using Gournet card!
Always forget about it tbh.
Service super speedy!

Visited Cafe Rouge Sherwood Forest on 19 April 2023 to celebrate my wife’s birthday.
The were a few minor issue but the major issue was the spilling of a baked Camembert down the back of my 4 year old grandson. Fortunately the molten cheese ended up on his clothes rather than his skin so avoided any injury.
The manager at the time made no apology and we have had no apology from further up the management team even though we have made several attempts to contact the company.
I am not seeking compensation but reassurances about staff training and the acceptance of the potential seriousness of the situation would be helpful
