They canceled our booking

They canceled our booking and refused to give us our money back because our flight was delayed. In the booking we have told them of our flight number so they were informed of our arrival time. I dont think they wanted to be helpful and do business. I think they intented to scam us out of 50 euros from the start. They have ruined the first day of out trip but the least i can do is not let them keep the money. I will contact the platfrom from which we made the booking and i will also cancel the payment through my bank. Please avoid this company

They are pathetic😡

They are pathetic😡
booked online from this DoyouItaly which is a broker. They took € 50,47 straight from my bank. Then they said, you pay the rest of the amount when you will come for the car. I should be there 10am for collection but unfortunately the person who has to pick me up for the collection had a setback so I quickly contacted the company C-RENT that I won’t be able to get there until 1:00pm. They said Sig if you cannot be here 11am you will lose your money. I tried to explain everything but the answer was no. Then they said you have to book another car. So guys stay away from those people……. They will do anything to rob you. They are miserable, so stay away.

Stay away from this company

Stay away from this company! Absolute disgrace. We have rented a car in October 2023 and still did not receive our deposit back - EUR 500 due to some imagined damaged that has been proven to not exist. The company is blaming the legal procedures, does not reply to multiple emails sent in both English and Italian (despite asking us to write the email). This is not the end of this nightmare.

Top rental car

Every 2-3 months I hire a car at C-Rent, Naples Airport. Extremely good value for your money and nice people. From the terminal you can just walk to their office about 350-400mt. Just make a video while observing the car conditions and the level of petrol. Moreover, visit the fantastic truly Neapolitan bar at the other side of the road, or the pizzeria next door!

Awful customer service

Made 2 bookings with this company for a family holiday. Our flight was unfortunately delayed however knowing how strict car hire places are with pick up times, we called before we took off to let them know we would be late. We were told we had to amend our booking online, as it was so close to pick up time this was not possible so I sent an email which was ignored. When our flight was delayed further I sent another email advising the new pick up time of 19:30 which was again ignored. My cousin in Italy tried to phone them all afternoon to confirm they had received the email and they don't pick up the phone. We got there just before 8pm and they were shut. We were then stranded at Naples airport with a 4 month old baby at 8pm. Absolutely terrible customer service, if they had replied to me, my family in italy could have made other arrangements for us. Thankfully there is a wonderful car hire place a couple of doors down - Frank in Go - who despite us not having a booking arranged 2 cars for us. I would never use C Rent again or recommend anyone to.

Charged my card without permission and SUPER rude!

Didn’t tell us we couldn’t drive the Amalfi coast on certain days, so when we did we got pulled over and paid a fine, which we settled before we left Italy. Now 6 months later they message me to say there’s another fine and they are charging my card without my permission, JUST TO TAKE A FEE FOR THEM! Not to pay the fine for us, just to pass on the fine to us. No explanation what the violation was and when questioned about this were very rude, telling me it’s my problem and i can deal with the police. When told they were very rude for customer service they told me ‘maybe I’m the one who is rude and that they can’t spend all their time on me’. Now I’m €50 down and still have no idea how much this other fine is for being 6 months old and when it’s going to arrive at my door. DO NOT RENT WITH THIS COMPANY. It’s not worth the hassle.

Would definitely recommend! 10/10

Would definitely recommend!
Came into the shop after walking down from the airport after landing half an hour later than expected. Paid with debit card for the weeks hire, with baby seat and full insurance 400€. They gave us a Fiat Panda Hybrid manual, it was freshly cleaned and had quarter of a tank of fuel in it. No issues for the week at all, drove a good 600+km, going from town to town, through the amalfi coast. Upon return I filled up to half way, handed over the keys and signed out. Perhaps I had such a good experience as I had paid up front as didn't have access to a credit card. But the girl on the front desk was very helpful and smiley

Upon arrival

Upon arrival, we immediately mentioned that we had a reservation, which seemed to cause some confusion. There were three men present, none of whom spoke English. Using Google Translate on a phone, we were told to be patient. When we asked “how long and why,” they simply shrugged their shoulders. After waiting for half an hour, we were “kindly” asked for a driver’s license and passport, and it turned out that the car—which had already been parked in front when we arrived—was available for us.

The car was okay, not clean and not fully refueled, but it did get us to our destination.

In summary: unfriendly, non-English-speaking staff, a long wait, and no clear explanation why.

Minus - 10

It would be minus 10 if it was available.
I am a lady on my own in a mountain region in Italy . The car won't start and i have been told by C Rent to jump start the car with cables (yet i haven't been able to locate any so maybe they forgot to supply them) OR to push it!! How am i supposed to push it by myself and also be in the car at the same time!! Again.. they must have forgotten to supply me with a robot driver or robot pusher!!!
It is parked on a side of a mountain facing the mountain edge. How i am meant to push it snd be in the car at the same time when i am on my own and not end up a casualty at the bottom of the mountain?? Then they said i didn't have cover, yet i bought the top package. They then said If i was in Naples (where i hired the car) they would come and help me but as I'm 1.5hrs away they refused to come out Will never hire from them again, the worst service ever and i hire cars in Italy at least 3 times a year.

Worst€1,500 Deposit Never Refunded – Avoid This Company

Title: €1,500 Deposit Never Refunded – Avoid This Company

C-Rent charged me a €1,500 deposit for minor or unrelated damage and never refunded it, despite multiple requests and no valid justification.
The vehicle was already in poor condition, and the new damage happened while parked.
They do not provide repair invoices or any documentation. This company seems to keep deposits as a routine.
I’ve filed complaints with my credit card and Italian consumer agencies. Avoid them at all costs.

Warning. Never rent a car by this company.

Warning. Never rent a car at this company. It is a tourist trap.

We rented a car with full insurance. Someone hit us at the parking lot. In spite of full insurance for the car we had a big discussion when we delivered the car.
The staff is very rude and is stressing you and are trying to get your signature, so you will pay a lot of money, even when you have full insurance cover. They have now drawed a big amount without legal notice! Besides there was only petrol for 20 km and flat tyres (and not the car we ordered).
Don't go there! - find a well known company instead.

Very smooth rental experience

Very smooth rental experience. The car had several scratches and dents. We reviewed them and photographed them before the rental. There was no hassle in returning the car because of this. There were no unpleasant surprises or hidden charges. Mario was a pleasure to deal with. He is personable and makes one feel the company can be trusted. Look for him!

If I could give negative stars I would

If I could give negative stars I would. 9 day rental of a 9 passenger Van. Arrived early and offered to wait for them to prepare vehicle but he insisted we take it and was told would not be clean. Ok with that. However received vehicle completely empty of diesel AND adblue (fuel additive). Had 27 km of fuel to find a gas station in Rome central AND adblue additive. If anyone knows driving in Rome it’s a very intimidating experience. Never done it before and google maps can move fast enough to keep up to the pace on a mid day in Rome! Later that day after picking up passengers at airport saw that rear right door window was blacked out. Looked to be spray painted. Texted agent to say this van was completely empty of both fuel and adblue AND now we can’t even see out the window, we plan to travel throughout Italy. Agent said sorry for the fuel and this is how the van comes with dark windows. I advised that tinting is one thing but blacked out poor repair whatever is not. After many back and forth texts, he agreed to exchange the van next day. Next van was better however again gas tank only 1/4 a tank. I had requested it be filled before we pick up as I had just filled the previous van for €106 plus €30 for adblue and did not even use it. He did not respond and now we receive the second van without enough fuel to make it to the next city. We couldn’t pick up the second van until noon so what’s the excuse to not fill it up? This second van was picked up behind the fiumicino airport. At this point, we just wanted to get going and start our tour, so we filled a second tank and started our drive. Gas station was literally across the street. There was no excuse to not have it filled. Agent had until noon to get it done.
During the drive we experience check engine lights. Right rear Tire sensor broken and replace carburetor filter. Not a great sense of security.
Returned vehicle with 1/2 tank of fuel more than what we picked it up with which was fine. Then reminded the agent(s) now there is 3 of them, of the refund for the first tank of diesel and adblue (which should never have been like this) that I requested more than once. They refused and started to say it was our fault we filled tank and then ask to exchange the vehicle. I said no it’s their responsibility to give customers a safe and acceptable vehicle. They then started to say they don’t have authority to refund. “They are just little ants working for this company.” That they would need to charge €90 for cleaning. For which the vehicle was clean on return. I have pictures to prove. In the end to not stand and argue and get extremely upset, I filed a complaint/claim through Discovercars.com. The company that’s lists for CRent. Unfortunately they are only translating/forwarding my messages verses representing us. Yet they seemed to understand our concerns and claims or it was lip service and an AI response set up. As a good gesture CRent has offered €25. Definitely falling short. Exterior condition of both vehicles very poor and obviously same goes for maintenance of vehicle.

We reserved a car through VIP-cars

We reserved a car through VIP-cars. We had a slight delay in our flight, of which we immediately notified c-rent by e-mail.
At the counter, we were told that the car in our category (automatic) was not longer availble, and that we had to upgrade and pay for (double) insurance.
After a long and painful discussion, involving also VIP-cars, finally we are given a downgrade (same class, but manual) and could keep our original insurance.

So we paid for something we didn't get.

All in all, the car was fine, apart from the Airbag warning light, and the process of returning the car was smooth. However the experience of picking up the car, and knowing they want to scam you was really horrible.

Would not recommend.

Never again,hidden extras

We were told in check in for the car we had to pay an extra €150 as we were taking the car for 42 days and it must by law being registered to you , I've never heard of this ! Then they tried to give us a car with the wing mirror hanging off , this is not legally road worthy , they said to bring it back the next day and they would change it, we refused as we were travelling 600km to our destination. They made us wait 40 minutes while they found us another battered car which seemed to be used by a member of staff as he took his personal belongings from it , it had 92000 km on the clock. We refused this car also as we didn't believe it was a hire car but we were told they would cancel our hire and we would be without a car to get to our destination, we had no choice but to take it.
The car had to be started every day or it would have to be jump started with leads , then they called us to bring the car back a week before our contract ended as it needed a service , we refused.
On return we were charged €15 to clean the car ! The receptionist is rude and sarcastic, and it's very difficult not to get angry with her as she doesn't listen or have any customer service skills , I had to walk away .
Unfortunately every time I scan to hire a car in Naples their name comes up as the best deal but id rather pay a lot more than use them again .Renter beware . I would have given 0 if I could

C Rent tick the box

The C rent office is a five minute walk from Naples airport terminal, doable, even if your towing a fair size suitcase, in the midday heat. We were given the car that I booked, a fairly new Skoda Fabia automatic, which proved more than adequate for all our needs, including sufficient luggage capacity for three, and an ability to go up steep hills, without struggling!
The debrief, on returning the vehicle, was a trifle drawn out, but we would not hesitate to use this company, again.

Do not use C-rent!

Very disappointed with C-rent in Naples. They kept us waiting for an hour when we got there whilst they served another person - it took ages. As it was dark they told me to take photos of the hire car in the morning, which I did. When I returned the car they said there was a scuff mark on the rear bumper which they said was not there before. I showed them a photo from the morning after collection which showed the scuff mark. They said it must have happened in the hotel car park the night of collection. I said this was extremely unlikely as the there were very few cars in the car park and I had not parked near any other car. We argued about this for some time but they insisted that the mark which was only about 10mm wide was not there when the car was collected. They showed me a date stamped photo. I have serious doubts about the validity of the photo but in the end had to accept the fact and was charged £250 for the repairs they said would be needed.

C-rent is by far, the worst car hire company I have used and I have used many over the years. I have serious doubts about their honesty and the way in which they carry out their business. I will certainly not be using them again and would recommend that potential customers stay well away from them too.
