Don’t expect too much. Some of the staff are woeful with their knowledge and even basic customer service. To be honest I couldn’t wait to leave. Some of the prices are good but compared to my visit t... See more

A salesman who asks good questions, and LISTENS to the answers...
I am nearly 80 year old. I needed some secateurs, and wanted CYCLONE if available. They weren't available and so I asked for help. My receipt says GAVIN helped me on 17 March at 13.02, TRAN017549.
He checked the price range I had in mind, the size of tool that would work, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, asked if I had arthritis or anything that would point to an easy-squeeze tool. He brought a couple of pairs to the counter and let me get the feel of them. I was totally delighted to buy some beautiful pink (!!!) secateurs, which I hope will last until I'm part of a garden somewhere. Thank you so much for STUNNINGLY good service.
Thank you
Do not follow the " click and collect " instructions. You will be in your car all day…
Do not follow the " click and collect " instructions as sent from Bunnings. They are still covid era instructions that tell you to call the store ( nobody answers even after 20 min ) and stay in your car for a staff member to meet you.
Against advice I was forced to enter the shop... There isn't even a phone at the click and collect desk !
Staff know nothing about the vintage instructions people get sent and seem very surprised.
Sort out your click and collect Bunnings Whangarei !
Never again
Sad customer service …
Compared to Mitre 10 Bunnings service and attitude to customer is sadly lacking. They avoid eye contact and seem to be waiting around for the next smoko break.

Went to Mt Wellington site and requested to speak to the plumber expert. customer service told me that his name was Chris . Went to the plumbing department and Chris was serving a customer, he asked me to wait. Waiting for 15 minutes. After he finishes talking to the customer he expends and other 15 minutes(by the Clock)writing on the Pc he approached me asking me what I wanted. Explained that i purchased an Estilo 600 laundry tub and one part was missing. His answer was sorry I am a kitchen expert no PLUMBER.request to speak to the manager.Told her that customer services sent it to Chris. She replied that the problem was they had new staff.AND speak with her staff in front of me in an Asian language) Hindi). To blame staff for training shortcomings in front of customers .I retu8rn the product in other branch

Service freely offered when I went and asked about a gas fitting. We didn’t find what I needed after few tries but she told me that another team member would be there Tuesday to Saturday would know what I need. It was a lovely experience Whakairi was her name. Then went on to the garden part and another helpful lovely lady. Did get her name but has long beautiful curly hair. I’ve come away feeling good about my experience in NewPlymouth shop. Good on you guys.
Trespassed For Giving Feedback They didn't like. (NOT Abusive)
I complained several times at different departments only when it was deserved over a few years. The service is generally poor and many areas have are badly managed. I even suggested a buzzer at the end aisles to get help as it can be difficult to find staff at time. All falls on deaf ears. The latest was the cafe which is a a joke mainly just for staff. They hardly ever have hot food after staff lunch time is over. I was refused a coffee before they had closed a few weeks ago so I gave some feedback about the overall running of the cafe to the staff behind the counter. Soon after on a visit to Bunnings they trespassed me for 2 years. I can assure you I was not abusive feedback. It seems that rather than fix issues and make for a better customer experience it's easier to just trespass good customers the ones that take time to give genuine feedback. Turns out the Manager that trespassed me 8 Feb 2024 "Dean" well his wife works in the Bunnings cafe -go figure.
Drive to other branches of Bunnings if you can, they are much better run e.g. Mt Roskill or Westgate are a breath of fresh air after New Lynn Branch. They need a complete staffing fix at New Lynn and it's usually easier to replace the management rather than try and change their attitudes.
In most of my bunnings visits since I…
In most of my bunnings visits since I have moved here 1 year ago it has not been very good. This time there were sufficient staff to help. But, they were not willing or knowageable enough to even know where the requested items could be found. Unwillingness is prominent in that there were only 2 of the 8 staff approached, who actually took me to the Isle and asked if that's what I wanted. The others provided conflicting info on the location and seemed to be in hurry with one word answers. After walking that huge warehouse 3 times...I finally bought the 3 items I was looking for, and it tool 40minutes and my arthritic legs and body did not welcome that unnecessary time wastage.
Hope bunnings invests in staff training more.
Only 1 star because I have to give…
Only 1 star because I have to give something. Staff are unhelpful, rude and downright disrespectful. My wife (just recovering from an operation) called Bunnings Petone to ask if she could have an item transferred from Porirua to Petone. Andrew (team member) said it wasn't possible and told her it would cost her $49 to have it delivered. She said she didn't want to pay that as she wanted to pick up from Petone. Andrew said it would cost the company to have it sent to them and that she (my wife) wanted to buy it so she should have to pay. Couldn't Andrew have been a little more customer friendly? Won't be back.

Friendly and helpful staffs
My experience has been great so far.
Very friendly stuff and approachable. I renovated my house in early 2023 and had to buy most of the furniture and tools for the renovation from the Bunnings. The staff helped me all the time and even walked me to the right tools/furniture when could not find what I was after.

After being a customer of Bunnings for 15 years.I am disappointed that the staff of Bunnings, who used to be friendly and helpful. Are now generally, unhappy and ‘sour’ to deal with.
It leaves me wandering why this has happened at Bunnings.
The stores are great and the product is generally of very good quality.
So why are the staff unhappy ? Should I just move to somewhere else for my hardware etc ?
If you want great customer service and…
If you want great customer service and experienced staff Don’t GO to Bunnings Shirley, if I could give you a 0 for customer service I would. Because of your extremely poor customer service and the ignorant rude attitude of your staff, you lost an $800 sale. Well done for making my experience with you the worst ever. Ended up going to mitre 10 where the staff know what they are actually talking about. Truly shameful

seem to only employ people of low experience and intellegence also when you try to ring them you are left waiting for an age. Even though they must be making a sqillion they do not have anywhere near enough staff. i recently drove 40 km to Rockingham store to buy a tin of paint that I had been assured over the phone by a member of the paint department they DEFFINITELY had in stock, but when I arrived they did not have it because the staff member who works in the PAINT dpt didn't know the difference between semi-gloss and satin paint. I got the manager to come down but got no joy from him either
Absolutely amazing customer service…
Absolutely amazing customer service from Paige!!
I organised a click and collect for a WIFI extender for my family in Ruatoria.
I am based in Darwin, my family collecting this item have just flown in from Perth, and Paige who works there was absolutely amazing!! Ensuring that we were able to pay and collect the item fast and efficiently
It’s Xmas time and busy, So Paige personally went down to the store floor and made sure there was stock, before helping me complete a click and collect for my family to pick up immediately
Collection was fast, easy and simple
Thank you Gizzy Bunnings!
Customer Service!
Since Bunnings Waipapa, opened, 2-3 weeks ago, their customer service is crap. Nothing like the Kerikeri branch was. Just not helpful at all.
So both times, today & the day after they opened, I went to Mitre10. Got what I wanted, nearly $2,000 worth (at little bit more expensive, but got absolutely Awesome Service from Mitre10, & happy as.
Won't be going back to Bunnings Waipapa in a hurry.
I was taken to Bunnings Westgate to buy a water tank
I was taken to Bunnings Westgate to look for a water tank. I have been injured for 7 months so couldn’t go until someone could take me. So it was really important that I find the water tank so that I can catch water for my garden when the heat and dry hit in summer. We couldn’t find a tank (the shelf was empty), but we asked a lady employee Vee. Vee knew exactly where the last one was being held for a customer. She showed it to me and it was exactly what I wanted. So Vee offered to phone the customer to check if they still wanted the tank and advised me that they didn’t so the tank was available for me to buy. Vee gave us the instructions for driving the car up to the Trade entrance and helped load the tank. Vee absolutely made my day, because I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to go back to the store if more tanks came into took and probably would have been too late to catch war while we still have rain. I can’t thank Vee enough, she was so helpful and knowledgeable and did everything she could so that I got my tank that day. She deserves recognition for her service.
Purchased their Flexistorage
Purchased their Flexistorage, cheap and nasty rubbish, the lowest quality I have ever experienced, unless it is a well-known brand I will steer clear, even then I have doubts, Is NZ used as a dumping ground for stuff they can not sell in Australia!!! As the Australians do not rate this junk looking at independent product ratings, not the fixed, bunnings reviews
The Botany Store is THE BEST!
The Botany Store is not our local, but we will happily make the 50 minute drive to deal with Denny, Mel, Sue & Zani (hope I got the spelling right!)
They are always so helpful, the best personalities and an absolute asset to Bunnings Botany.
Misleading labels. Faulty Goods. Poor Attitude
Bought a bird net clearly marked "4 x 4 metres" when I unfolded it at home it was 4 x 2 metres. Took it back; they couldn't care less.
Also bought an extension cord - discovered that the socket was warped (manufacturing defect); they offered to replace it - ALL those extension cords had the same defect !!! - Very bad attitude "no-one else has complained" Got a refund & never going there again.
