This company changed their name a few years back, there is a reason for that!
Except the security deposit accommodation was very dated, paint is peeling all around the apartment and everything is broken, dirty, and covered in mould everywhere!
And they expect their guests to clean that!

Looking at my experience I guess all the other one star reviews are correct. If you need any more information regarding my booking experience with this company feel free to contact me.
Some of their accommodation is totally infested with mould, run down and very dated.
I can provide video clips and pictures to anyone interested.
And they will not refund your deposit unless you are prepared to take them to court, read all other reviews.
Run run run run
Run, run, run away! This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had. I paid £4,558 for a 33-day stay, expecting comfort and peace, only to arrive and find relentless, loud construction taking place in the building. I was never informed of this beforehand—despite your claim that I had been notified. The only email I received was about the deposit payment, which was strategically sent to ensure I was locked in and paid in full, with no mention of the unbearable construction.
I am still trying to find the notification you claim to have sent, but all I can see is that the request for the deposit was carefully crafted to hide the extent of the disturbance and mislead me. This experience has not only been extremely disappointing but has also put my health at risk.
Update: Things have only gotten worse. Today, there was a severe water leak in the apartment, flooding the space and causing further damage. The fire alarm went off, and emergency services had to intervene, making the situation even more dangerous. The leak affected my belongings, including important medications for my heart and kidney condition, which puts my health at even greater risk. As if this wasn’t enough, I was forced to relocate to a much cheaper, significantly inferior apartment with two single beds—an option that is far below what I paid for and unacceptable given the circumstances.
If only you could experience the chaos and distress this has caused, you might understand the sheer level of danger and frustration I’ve endured. This has been more than an inconvenience—it’s been a hazardous, health-threatening disaster.

Absolutely shocking, I wish I had found the reviews before booking but it was all made through Airbnb so we thought we'd be safe. It's written at the very end of the listing to make sure people don't see it, but they'll ask you to pay another £500 for the deposit or they won't give you access to the property. Or you pay a non-refundable £50 as an "insurance". Which is the better option given the other reviews were people got randomly charged for "damages".
The listing says it comes with essentials such as soap but that's not true either. It says the check-in is easy but we had to go get the keys at a whole different address in a -2C weather. There furniture is outdated, the service is appalling, such a contrast with the usual Airbnb experience.

Shocking place
Shocking place . Wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy . I had a team of workmen come into flat ( they had a key) while I was on my own and quietly doing some work . Totally unacceptable - and the getaway team took zero care or responsibility . The flat has an internal type door with no chain or bolt on inside so felt very very unsafe . The building is dirty and and unkept . Shower mouldy and second bedroom door doesn’t close . Dirty windows and overal nasty 🤮 no one has taken any care to make this place comfortable . Position in town was good but shame they don’t live up to the photos and ads .
Accommodation stank of vomit
Accommodation was not fit for purpose, stank of vomit on our arrival. On contacting them they just said they would feed back to the cleaner, no offer to try and resolve. It proved so bad we had to abandon our stay and book an alternative else where.
My Getaways have since refused to refund us, Airbnb have also not helped as I cannot “prove” a smell, which of course my getaways are saying didn’t exist.
I will never book with a “professional” host on Airbnb again, it is clear they simply want money, they don’t care about the owners of their houses or the clients renting them. The real run is the £150 cleaning fee… which is clearly just profit margin as the place wasn’t clean at all, even taking the wretched stench out of the equation.
We contacted MY Getaways on the day of…
We contacted MY Getaways on the day of arriving in Brighton as we were let down an hour before check in at another property. I contacted MY Getaways by email and got a response back very soon after. I was put into contact with Rohun the Duty manager who went above and beyond to accommodate us. We were found perfect accommodation clean, tidy, large and very reasonably priced. Rohun was on the phone helping us to locate the property and advise on parking so far as sending a wats app video! Cannot rate highly enough will definately be using MY Getaways again, thank you!
I had no idea service / customer…
I had no idea service / customer support could get this bad, but now it I know it can.
The cooker/oven was not functional and the electrical installation there was likely faulty.
Turning the oven on would blow the ground floor fuse.
We couldn't put our food in the oven.
We recorded evidence of this IN 4K DOLBY VISION 😌 and upper management with no apology then gas lights the customer saying the cooker was always working, telling us we didn't have a problem and disregarded the evidence.
In a reply to my father's review, MY Getaways instead of acknowledging the problem or issuing an apology, elects to heavily insult their customer, and then claimed that there was "no evidence whatsoever" (aforementioned videos were provided as evidence on top of our personal account of our terrible experience with this over 300 pounds a night property)
They also reposted parts of a private email chain which is quite unusual to me, especially when the evidence was omitted.
On the description there was a misleading indicator claiming you could park on the street, without mentioning that the parking is 4 hour non return.

Return visit to the Cottage…
This was a return visit to the Cottage Retreat as we were very happy with this cosy and well appointed property last time we stayed. This time was just as good. A great location, within walking distance of all major sights. The wealth of independent shops in the North Laine area was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend this property.
Unjustified retention of deposit

Booked back in 2019 for my sisters hen do prior to the COVID19 pandemic for which they allowed me to rebook my trip. Fast forward two years later and COVID restrictions are in place for which means we can still not go ahead with our booking (we are 18 guests and govt guidelines are currently 2 households indoors only). Tried to obtain a refund given the circumstances and they said had we not rebooked we would have received a refund, given we have a credit note they now can not offer us one?
The company (in particular Mark), was aggressive, rude and intimidating and refused to even offer help with regards to our booking. When I called to ask advice, he was sarcastic, laughing down the phone and refusing us a refund given the circumstances.
If I could offer any advice, do not touch this company, do not book with this company and certainly do not stay in any of their accommodation.
Complete and utter thiefs and truly upsetting losing all that money from them not delivering the service. Wish I had read reviews prior to booking with this company.

If only I could give a zero star review. I had a similar experience to others however I received multiple aggressive and emotional responses over email from Mark, one of the directors, despite asking him to please stop as I was at home with a newborn baby. I wouldn’t touch this company with a barge pole and would definitely not encourage groups of women to stay there alone after the experience I had.
I am taking further action through the third party I booked through, but think it’s important that other customers know this in the meantime as I would want to be aware of the kind of people I was dealing with if I was booking another trip or event. There are so many small business owners that deserve your custom at the moment, please seek them out before even considering giving your business to these people.

They want us to break our local lockdown law which is despicable. No consideration for the fact that we're currently not even allowed to see our own families but happy for us to mix 3 households for a cancelled event even though their website states not to mix 2 households in their properties. Poor policies and atrocious customer service from Mark Byford.
If I was Steve Taggert I'd be disappointed that the staff are portraying his company this way.
