Very Bad Experience with Bon Accord Glass
Very bad experience with Bon Accord Glass
Had front door withtop light and side panels, back door and small window in back lobby fited on 05/02/26, neither of the doors were fit for purpose. Drafts coming in both door and faulty products. it was agreed that the manufacturer of the front door would come and see the faulty Apeer door. The manufacturer from Apeer doors came on 23/02/26. The man from Apeer doors said there was no problem and the faulty door would be replaced, but this would not fix the draft as there was also fitting issues and he was writting a report for Bon Accord Glass.
24/02/26: Bon Accord Glass came to redo fitting of the back door as I was flooded with all the rain, they did not move the door frame. They have fitted the door frame out past the outside of building, the water was coming in the top of the door frame. I had cladding to put on so they said that would stop any water ingress and put it on for me, I had to replace my internal wall panels that were damaged and skirting boards they had cut in order to put 100ml trim on. this did not fix the draft.
21/05/26: After numerous calls and missed appointment Bon Accord Glass came back to fit the new front and adjust the back door yet again. When removing the front door, side panels and top light and 100ml trims it was obvious the side panels and top light were to narrow and that was why the large trims were used, they also damaged the new front door. Justin agreed to replace the whole lot and start again, he measured and said he would order the top light and side panels in the bigger size as needed.
As the door set would be coming out again and to avoid having to remove anymore silicone I agreed for him to temorary fit the door with no silicon or trims and the gaps were filled with expanding foam on the outside. Damage to inside was skirting boards, flooring, walls and ceiling. Promised it would be priority and would take 21 days for items needed to come in and would be fitted as soon as. Iwas thinking OK 4 weeks max and agreed to them leaving the mess inside and out, but made it clear that any longer than this would not be acceptable.
02/06/26: Received an e-mail from Ian McDonald (director) who had decied that he would not be replacing the side panels and top light but would adjust my internal walls to fit them. I refused.
04/06/26: Meeting with Ian (Director) and after showing him a video of the front door being removed and scraped along the ground when they thought it was going back in, he agreed to replace everything that was needed for the front and would speak to the manufacturer of the back door which he thought would also need replaced. He was to be ordering it all the next day. I kept asking for confirmation of the order and expected fitting date. He told me it was ordered on the 10/06/26 and didn't have a date.
After lots of unanswered e-mails and request for refund being refused by Ian McDonald. I received an e-mail to say that all items are now in stock and he was going to check them all on 05/08/26 and when he was happy with them he would be in touch to arrange a mutually agreeable date for fitting.
This was meant to be a priority and has taken longer than the first fit, still waiting with unsightly front door and a building site inside.
Very disappointed with Bon Accord Glass from installation team to Ian McDonald (Director) communication.
