Totally incompetent. The Scalea branch is an absolute joke and their customer service department just directs you back to the Scalea branch. It's like a never ending circle. They used to be good but the last 2 years the customer service is less than non existent. Avoid like the plague
Update 29/12/25. I forwarded details to BNL after they responded to my review. Their client relations department who hade previously told me (on numerous occasions) that they could not help me with my most recent problem, regarding access to my account, and that I would have to go to the branch were suddenly able to correct the problem. Basically I had no access to online banking. The branch had told me it was resolved but it wasn't and so I had to go back to the branch. After uninstalling and re installing the app, having our debit cards cancelled and new ones issued ( and being told we would not be charged for the new cards), then they unregistered/re-registered me for online banking before declaring 'we cannot do anymore, you need to telephone green number (numero verde). I did this and was told they would need to arrange a telephone appointment with someone who could correct the problem. I then received an email confirming the appointment only to discover it was with someone at the branch who had already said they could not fix the problem, and the person who made the appointment had been told this. Just to add insult to injury, I have now been charged 2x €14,20 for the new cards despite their assurances (lies) that this would not happen. Therefore I confirm that my advice is to AVOID BNL LIKE THE PLAGUE. TOTALLY INCOMPETENT AND DISHONEST.

Non supportano Google Pay, ma invece offrono come alternative Samsung Pay (solo su telefoni Samsung), FitBit Pay (che è sempre di Google ma adesso lo vogliono chiudere), Garmin Pay e BNL Pay (pessimo non funziona mai)

The receptionist she received as like no body while we came here to invest in this bank. It is horrible experience and I will never put any money in this bank.

If you want to make your life difficult and hard, then this bank is perfect for you. We tried several times to terminate a joint account, and that seems to be impossible to do. They don't speak English and just misunderstand everything all the time. They charge you ongoing fees without notifying you; even if the balance on the account is negative, they just continue. This bank is horrible and doesn't care about its clients. The digital platform they provide also sometimes makes me feel that I live in the 90s. Slow and always under maintenance. Not working. To everyone who reads this, help yourself and avoid this bank. The worst bank I ever had.

The worst bank I have ever dealt with in my 40 years on this planet.
I have a mortgage and a joint account to pay said mortgage at BNL. For months BNL has been sending me a notification that I need to fill in some questionnaire because it's "required by law", yet every time I schedule the telephone appointment to do so, their representative fails to call me. I then call their customer service number, wait 20 minutes to talk to someone, only to be told "It says here you didn't answer the phone call" (NOT TRUE THEY NEVER CALLED). I'm then told to reschedule the appointment. This has happened multiple times and at this point it seems like they are just trying to close my account.
Oh, also it seems to only apply to me, as the co-signer on this current account apparently does not have to fill in said questionnaire, despite it being "required by law".

I used a third party service online, but the payment by credit card was blocked. The BNL operator Ottavio Quaranta solved the issue in few minutes. He was extremely professional, very kind, and totally effective.
