Probably the absolute worst customer…

Probably the absolute worst customer service I have ever had, in anything, in my life. Beyond horrible. We have a Shih tzu with Cushings disease and significant weight loss . Our regular vet advised us today, on a Sunday, to go to Blue Pearl in Atlanta as they were the best and had vet specialists available. We arrived at the Howel Mill location at 6:10 p.m. The initial front desk persons was friendly and professional. After about 30 minutes we were placed in a room and told the vet would be in shortly. So began the problems. Over two hours later, finally an employee entered the room and started asking questions. They did not identify themselves my name or profession. No idea if this was a veterinarian or a tech. We proceeded to give a thorough account of the situation and our dog was taken back. After waiting another two hours we were greeted in the room by Jessica from the front desk. She inquired if everything was ok, to which I replied that it was not ok. She had no Information about our dog. Being very frustrated by this poor care, all she had to say to me was to “ dial it down a notch”. I asked her again to find out about our dog at which time she left. Approximately 2-3 minutes later , Clinton entered the room. Again , no idea if he was a vet or a tech. He eventually said he was a tech and that he was
“in charge “. He also had no idea about our dog other that she was “ just chillin back in her kennel. He had no idea of any care that had taken place. He tried to explain about the vet to see our dog wasn’t there yet and that we would probably not be finished by midnight, another 2 hours away. He did subsequently learn that our dog had no actual evaluation and no lab work had been done. This was 4 hours into our visit. When I asked if the vet that would see our dog was in the building, he ignored me and walked out of the room. He returned with our dog , what had been in a kennel for 4 plus hours, soaked in her own urine and fecal matter . He left again not to be found. We decided our dog had been traumatized enough and proceeded to leave. I asked for some assistance to try and wipe some of the urine and fecal matter off our dog for the 1 and a half hour drive home. Clinton finally reappeared with a single napkin which was useless. We had absolutely horrible customer care from Jessica and Clinton. In no way would I want these individuals to be a part of my company or deliver horrible service to anyone else’s loved one. I understand staffing issues as I am a medical professional, but that doesn’t excuse the wanton neglect and poor care of our dog. If we had been simply communicated to as to what to expect, we could have made an informed decision regarding staying or leaving. I feel bad for all the other pets left to wallow in their urine and feces for hours. It’s really an abusive situation. I will continue to voice this opinion by whatever means necessary including social media, local media outlets, and animal rights groups . Please never consider using this company for any care whatsoever.

My dog was pregnant and a puppy was…

My dog was pregnant and a puppy was coming out foot first. I called the blue pearl emergency clinic in st cloud MN. they opened at 6 pm. I called when they opened they told me they couldnt see her till 7 after 7 pm. I brought her there at 7:00 and they took her and i waited for 45 minutes before i talked to anyone about her. They helped her deliver the puppy that was coming out foot first and assured me that it would be better for her tp have the rest of the puppies at home naturally and told me that if i thought i needed to bring her back for a cesarean i would have to bring her back by 3 am because thet closed at 8 am. I called at 2:30 am and told then that she had not delivered any puppies and there was green stuff leaking out of her vagina, they told me that
they had another emergency and couldnt help me. I had to wait until other vets opened up at 7 am to bring her somewhere else. They did a cesarean when the had time they saved 3 more puppies and 2 hours after the surgery she crashed because she was in labor too long. This vet does NOT care about animals i was told by other vets that they should have done a cesarean and not sent me home. 0 stars for this business this was a horrible experience.

Those of you that read my last reviews…blood

Those of you that read my last reviews and thoughts
On understanding Blood test and what the numbers
Can mean
First the veterinarian when talking about the blood test
With you, normally goes over the high lows and normal
Here’s where it get interesting let’s say the veterinarian said bun numbers are up or high .
I don’t know about you but for me o o what’s wrong
And the heart rate starts up
But no problem the veterinarian said we can get it down .
Ok great ,now if you were to understand possibly why the bun is up or be able to ask the why question and understand then great or take the test home and due your home work.
Then call and get a very clear answer why the bun is up.
Hum one possibly ,bun can be up because your pet is dehydrated.
I like to believe the veterinarian do there best to explain the blood test numbers but at that time
Just can’t take the time to go over each possible
Reason for a high or low number.
They very will may know it’s just dehydration
That’s where you come in go home and read about blood test then call
Please for your pet ,make no immunity decision cool off do your home work.
And again I wish I know then what I know now
Chances are my decision won’t be the one I made .

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. Called in ahead of time that my little dog was bit by a snake. Told them I would be there in 15 mins. They told me they would be ready. We ran him in and they gave us paperwork. Filled it out and still waited. Asked again if vet was there or could anybody at least check vitals. They told me to
Sit down. I called another ER vet drove and extra 30 mins. I am furious this place wasted precious time my dog needed.

Zero stars

Zero stars. Our dog was discharged home after blood work and X-rays were “normal.” She continued to decline. I requested copies of blood work and saw that some levels were elevated, took her back (huge mistake) and requested an ultrasound. They found a foreign object in her intestines. She was “babysat” for 3 more days-given fluids and sedative. She saw 5! veterinarians during her stay. All said surgery was NOT warranted despite her vomiting and painful abdomen. Five thousand dollars later, we brought her home and took her to another ER veterinarian. Surgery was performed and she was home 8 hours later for only $700. She is back to her normal self and we are so thankful. If we could do it again, we would obviously not take her to Blue Pearl. There are other ER veterinarians in the area. I would strongly encourage you to take your pet somewhere else. Despite advocating for surgery during her entire stay at Blue Pearl, the surgeon (Dr. Kevin Au) and fellow staff were allowing her to go 7 days with foreign object while vomiting and in pain. It was the hardest thing to watch, and I only wish we had trusted our gut more and brought her home sooner.

Your pet will die there

After the most horrid, botched surgery done at Blue Pearl my beloved dog ended up in horrific condition and experienced extreme suffering to the point that I was forced to euthanize her. This corporate establishment does not care about our pets or pet owners. In fact, they prey on pet owners who are panicking, weak, distraught and stressed out. I paid 13,000 USD to this place and in the end, my dog suffered terribly and died horribly. Blue Pearl does not take any responsibility for what happened and refuses to provide me with data, results, and notes pertaining to the atrocious level of care my dog has received there. This place is a conveyer for our pet bodies, there is no warmth, empathy or care of any sort. Their only interest is to extract as much money as possible from people who love their pets and do everything for them. They can choke on my money that were basically all savings I had. Please avoid taking your pets there no matter what. Remember that once your pet entered that place, they might not walk out of it, ever.

If you want the worst care for your animal go to bluepearl

I wish I could give the a negative number for a rating. I took my precious yorkie to Blue Pearl in Augusta GA on 5/3/2022. My baby was wheezing and had been vomiting. We were left in a room awaiting care and my dog started vomiting. I ran out to front desk and told the blue pearl employee and they did nothing. I had to search the clinic to clean vomit my self. When doctor did arrive to the room we advised of my dog's vomiting. He did not even acknowledge it. I asked if my dog was in Heart failure and what stage. I was told that he was uncertain. Only to return to blue pearl two days later to see the cardiologist to be told that my dog was not in heart failure. I have called many times only to not have my calls returned and told of days when return calls would occur which did not happen. So please if you are in the Augusta ga area take you pet to UGA or Columbia for emergency care. Blue Pearl in connection with Banfield is a racket and a scam. Same corporation.

Expensive and no follow thru

They are very expensive. Got multiple diagnoses from doctors there and once I picked up my dog who did get better. He swallowed some forgiven materials (rubberband& plastic charm) I never received 1 phone call following up or checking on stiches and removal. My primary vet called me about five times for the amount of money they needed to follow up

If you have a very sick animal

If you have a very sick animal, and have tried everything to save him, and having to accept that they have to be put to sleep, it is truly a nightmare!
Blue Pear at 4640 Paragon Park Rd. Raleigh, NC 27616 was the most compassionate group of people we ever met, they were kind and caring under the worst circumstances. I was not happy with the outcome; it was not what we wanted; tears keep flowing to this day. I read some of these reviews, and wonder why people get so angry, maybe because it did not work out, or thought you knew more than the vets. I will end with this, if you have a sick animal, this is the place to bring them, in the middle of the night they are there. They are excellent at what they do, and hopefully you get a heathy animal back.

My dog,Winky, wasn seen by Blue Pearl of…

My dog,Winky, wasn seen by Blue Pearl of Conshohocken’s Internal Medicine department for GI issues. Dr. Hamilton and her staff were wonderful with Winky. She was getting better until she started to suffer from what was most probably a brain tumor. Winky was almost 12 years old and a Yorkie. Once I found out about the probable tumor I decided not to have her treated for that, as it would not really change anything, she would not get better. Winky was admitted ton the ER, then admitted to Internal Medicine. Everyone did their best to keep her comfortable until she could be put to rest. The love and understanding by everyone at Blue Pearl made a very hard and sad situation so much easier to handle. The front staff, Dr. Hamilton and her staff, and the ER staff showed not only me but my dog nothing but support, understanding, and caring from the our first visit to their facility until the last visit. I was able to bring in my other dog to say good bye to Winky, Sassy was given the same support as I was.I held Winky while she was gently put to sleep. I can never thank them enough for all they did for Winky. I know that except for the brain tumor, she would have had her GI issues under control. I know that Dr. Hamilton did all she could for Winky. All my concerns, all my questions were always addressed in a respectful caring manner. I definitely recommend Blue Pearl of Conshohoken to anyone whose pet needs a specialist or needs an ER.

Where was the emergency care?

I’m reviewing this bc there’s nothing more I can do than speak up and let as many people know as possible. This is my 1 experience with them and I felt like I should’ve been able to count on them to do everything to save my dog but instead they did nothing that was relevant to her care. If any of y’all come across unfortunate circumstances that an emergency vet is needed, please reconsider using this one.

I brought my 4lb chihuahua to BLUE PEARL (south side) for bloody diarrhea and dehydration, what I found out later to be HGE. The receptionist was great & they immediately took her back. They then FORGOT her for 3hrs, providing only oxygen bc “they got busy w/ emergencies.” In other words, they didn’t consider her an emergency. Truth was, she was one of highest priorities since any fluid loss in such a small animal carries risk of death. When they “treated” her, they mainly did tests, most irrelevant to her condition- such as x-rays on her lungs instead of her gastric system- they were more focused on making $$ off tests than providing emergency care. The rest of their “treatment” consisted of useless meds: b-12, puppy pepto, pain relief, and 1 subQ injection of saline (when I left.)

What she NEEDED was to be immediately placed on IV to help her recover from shock caused by the blood and fluid loss. After waiting close to 7HOURS I requested to take her home- against vet advice, as they wanted to keep her over night for MORE tests and might then start an IV. She was in severe shock when I received her back and passed away before the next morning. Her death they’ll have blamed on me as I chose to take her home and provide my own care-which was palliative and what little fluids I could get in her, leaving them “unreliable for further health decline.”
To be clear- it may have been too late for her to have been saved, even with the IV. BUT if they had treated my Aspen like the REAL emergency she was and been focused on actual care rather than money there’s a chance she could be with now.

Save your pet and save your money - AVOID BLUEPEARL!

I strongly advise anyone that is considering taking their pet to BluePearl to reconsider and find another Vet/Pet Hospital. Even if it means driving further, it will be worth it. Knowing what I know now, I would've driven clear across the state to avoid BluePearl. I can assure you, your pet's well-being is not their priority - their one and only objective is to maximize their profits. Upon my first visit, Dr. Knight from BluePearl Maitland gave instruction that took weeks, if not months off of my dog's life. She ignored me when I tried explaining the symptoms my dog was exhibiting and dismissed my primary vet's assessment in order to come to her own opportunistic conclusion. She convinced us into paying for a $4,100 MRI because she insisted it was the ONLY way to determine what was or wasn't causing my dog's symptoms. We later discovered this was a complete lie because there's a $50 DNA test available which, based on the result, could have either ruled out a root cause or concluded that she was susceptible to the disease. My complaints that I was misled into paying for an MRI fell on deaf ears from Maitland and their Customer Service at their headquarters in Tampa. Furthermore, they have failed to respond to several attempts by the Better Business Bureau to contact them regarding my complaint. Based on my experience, and reading the reviews on here, yelp, and the BBB, I truly do not understand how they are still in business. What they do is unethical and should be shut down.

Badly managed and poorly staffed.

This place is very badly managed. Given my own experience and many reviews I read, I wouldn't be surprised if it's also unreliable.
At first, I didn't think the price they quoted was terribly high. Then, I realized that they should be paying me to tolerate the nasty, defensive, and annoying performances of the staff. Although they weren't terribly young, all the staff I dealt with behaved as though they were teenagers who had memorized lots of empty phrases they thought were “fancy”. The information they provided was always vague, even if it was general information rather than technical terms, and the information was delivered in a consistently condescending tone. (Talk about “virtue signaling”! ) So much of my time had to be spent cutting through useless, self-absorbed nonsense, which the staff seemed determined to rely on exclusively.
Basically, my experience was filled with lots of lecturing from the staff and not enough information I needed to understand my pet's problem (or even his whereabouts).
I'm not sure my pet was given adequate care. Some procedures performed were relatively simple ones, but no technicians seemed to be available to get them done. Meanwhile, there were always staff hanging around who seemed to have time on their hands. They looked very relaxed, and they were chatting and laughing. The vet seemed very sleepy. Maybe that vet didn't use the other staff very well. That vet was also as tedious as a case technician I had to endure.
No wonder they want pet owners and their sick animals to wait outside in hot cars. They don't want you to put together the pieces and realize what's going on inside.
I will take my pet to yet another vet and pay even more money, with the hope that I can trust something reliable was done.
If you had a good experience at this place and you feel you can rely on the treatment your pet received, you must have ended up there during better times and not have dealt with the bunch I was stuck with.

Greed, greed, greed, they only care about your pet if its name is MONEY

These people are evil . Tell me who TF would become a vet and no care about animals? What kind of Ted Bundy sociopath aspires to be a Vet to care only about money, greed, and profit. They are crooks, conmen , and grifters. They don’t care if you or your pet or their own mothers live or die as long as they get their greedy little paws on all your hard earned money. I unfortunately don’t believe in Hades but if there is one these folks will be somewhere in the basement . God have mercy on your souls if there is a God. Y’all better hope there isn’t….I think these folks would steal from a Kid’s cancer like the grifter family Dumps . There’s evil in this world then there’s “Take advantage of people at their most vulnerable “ EVIL . Man , y’all better get your souls right with whatever you believe in because either way Karma and the universe don’t let you commit evil deeds forever … it will catch up to you , trust me , I know . It’s waiting on you at the next corner . Patiently. If you work here I’d suggest you quit before the wicked spreads to your soul too.

I wrote a review earlier, but here is another

I wrote a review earlier, and want to emphasize that four medical doctors in my immediate family were informed of Blue Pearl's behavior regarding the death of my English Pointer Beau Feb 2nd, 2021. They advised I report ASAP the details that were equal to malpractice. I reported every detail in a timeline to the Veterinary Board and to the Attorney General. Those details are on record forever; regardless of outcome. Look up that case for the truth. I have rescued animals since childhood, assisted my father, a medical doctor, was taught from age 4 and up. My siblings, many cousins, husband made the focus of their careers medicine. They are medical doctors and additionally many work in this field. I have told many of them already about Blue Pearl. So, Blue Pearl you can hide behind your lies only in front of other liars. You cannot hide the truth that requires goodness of heart to discern! We cannot fight these perverts in hell, where they operate, function and stagnate. They are hellish. So, the advice is to be forewarned. They are irresponsible, pretentious, rude, and they will deny wrongdoing because they cannot admit to it. The majority of reviews on Blue Pearl are bad. Why chance taking your pets to such a misguided place? The way to defeat evil is to do good. Do good by using other veterinary hospitals for ER care. Avoid Blue Pearl and all of its affiliates. This will put them out of business. Always ask those entrusted to care for your pets if they ever worked for Blue Pearl? You want to avoid anyone who lacks good character, morals and honesty; things required to practice Veterinary medicine as the public wants. A license and degree are meaningless without the internal desire to do what is both good and true. Evil does not relate to Goodness and Truth. Evil relates to greed, insensitivity, cruelty, cheating, lying, scheming, pretentiousness. We can complain about Blue Pearl until the cows come home, but remember to stay clear of them means to stay out of the hell they create. Do not ask hell to help when love of Goodness and Truth are required. Our pets need Goodness and Truth, which are together teamed for the foundation. For anyone we request help from on behalf of our pets we need to hold to a high standard. We must strive to be good to them by avoiding Blue Pearl. It is all about the mindset. When you encounter a rude Veterinary person whether such is a receptionist, tech or vet, run away to another hospital. Begin calling others to be seen at. Save you and your pets grief, money and time. We cannot punish hellish mindsets. They live in hell, are blind and pretending to be good while they are practicing deception. Of course, none of us is perfect. Goodness and Truth comes from God only. Ask God to lead you to Veterinary care that is honest, true, and with a mindset to do no harm.

Reprehensible despicable behavior, an embarrassment to the veterinary community.

My Springer pup was diagnosed at our normal vet's office with "cherry eye", a simple procedure usually costing around $900. My vet said he doesn't do the procedure too often so a specialty vet might be better. So I took Charlie to BluePearl. What a mistake. They took him into the back room for the "consultation" and performed UNAUTHORIZED, unnecessary, stupid tests then charged me over $350. BP then quoted me $2,500 to do a simple procedure that everyone else charges $900 for! I have to save up all over again. :(
ps: place was empty but I was stuck there for an hour

This clinic took me for over $10000 and gave me nothing. They are a scam and they aren’t very nice. They know you love your pet and they see you coming. The only thing they are solid on is getting your payment. They charged me up for a bunch of test that had nothing to do with my dogs diabetes and then forgot that that’s why I brought my dog to them. Total rip off. Dangerous to your dog and your wallet. Stay away. You have been warned.
