I don’t usually leave reviews. I’m generally very reasonable, I accept constructive feedback easily, and I understand that assessments need standards. If something doesn’t go perfectly, I’m usually the first to assume there’s context I’m missing.

This experience was different.

What became clear to me after the assessment, and only really after stepping back and reflecting, is how much of this process is built on discretion rather than evidence. The outcome relies almost entirely on the assessor’s observation and judgement. There’s no requirement for independent measurement, no tools used to support certain claims, and candidates aren’t allowed to record the assessment for their own learning or clarity. That isn’t necessarily wrong, but it does mean the system lives or dies on the integrity, neutrality, and communication of the assessor.

In my case, the feedback itself sounded reasonable in the moment. However, on reflection, it felt as though the assessment was being interpreted through a particular lens. Certain points were emphasised in a way that didn’t fully align with the marked assessment, and the overall direction of the feedback felt weighted towards a negative outcome rather than a balanced evaluation of the drive as a whole. It left me with a sense that judgement was being applied selectively, rather than consistently.

This process affects people’s licences and livelihoods. When that’s the case, transparency, consistency, and credibility aren’t optional extras, they’re essential. For me, the overall setup felt more focused on policy enforcement and consequence than on fair, clearly evidenced assessment.

At the end of the day, everyone has to make their own choice. I’m sharing this because I wish I’d understood how this assessment actually works before booking. Personally, I wouldn’t choose this provider again, and I’d strongly encourage others to look carefully at alternative companies in their area.

Rating this company even 1 star it’s too much. This company is making money,I had my test with Louise, the test supposed to be 45 minutes and she take me for one hour and five minutes she try her best to fail me , even 7years with a clean license , she’s unprofessional.
I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone I know.

had a fantastic experience with Lee, who accompanied me during my Uber driving test. From the moment he arrived, he was professional, reassuring, and incredibly easy to work with. Even though he wasn’t teaching me how to drive, his calm presence and clear communication helped reduce my nerves and made the entire process feel smooth and stress-free.

Lee explained everything I needed to know about the test procedure, what to expect, and how the assessment would run. His supportive attitude really helped me stay focused and confident throughout the test.

Rating this company even 1 star is generous. This company is a money making business. There assessor Lewis is racist to the Asian community. He nitpicks, he belittles you. He makes you feel uncomfortable. When he knows you are desperate as you have a job waiting he will take advantage of you. I am a driver of 30 years with a clean license and he failed me 7x every time a different excuse. He told me that he is the only one in this area, I thought I had no other choice. I found out about Diamonds who were out of city and decided to go with them and was successful on my first attempt. Diamonds are excellent!!!! If you do not want to waste your time and money go to diamonds and see results yourself. This company does not care about you. I even written to them to explain what had happened and they didn’t even bother to reply back. Completely unprofessional and ridiculous.

I purchased my ticket on September 12th and immediately requested a refund. However, I received no confirmation within 14 days, and only received vague information.
They didn't clearly state the refund amount, and when I contacted the airline, they refused to confirm it.

I will never purchase tickets from the Kiwi Airways website again.
It's a scam.
I will never recommend them to anyone.

Had test in the morning at 6 am Tim Holman his name was failed me saying that I should went off the roundabout by not giving priority to the right side car. As car behind me he honked and over took me with 40mph speed on 20mph road may be he was late for some reason but examiner Tim failed me saying you should went off and not stopped at the roundabout for the right side traffic(car).
When I started questioning him he seems being racist and then he said oh you were on 30mph on 50mph road i smile and said to him very politely Tim that road is just next to my house and I clear seen myself what speed I was driving all through my test I wasn't under or over anywhere but he got off the car and said you failed the test.

I asked him how do we take this further for investigate he said no point as BLUE LAMP WILL BACK ME UP how unprofessional it was not even that he couldn't hand over my report to me instead left it on my back seat come on guys stop being racist going forward i think for everyone there should be recording for the test so we could show how unprofessional it is or how good it was as everyone is not the same.

I attended the Safeguarding Virtual Classroom Course on 15.09.2025 and was very disappointed. The training content was biased and unprofessional. Nationalities of offenders were highlighted only when they were Eastern European (Polish, Romanian, Estonian), while crimes by other nationalities were not treated the same way. This selective approach created a misleading and xenophobic impression. Sensitive issues such as terrorism and grooming gangs were minimised, while Eastern Europeans were disproportionately singled out. As a British citizen of Eastern European heritage, I found this course discriminatory and unacceptable.

I had the test with mr. Neville Stamford a great mean and a very good instructor. He expalain me very clearly what i need to do and he was very professional. All yhe best

Orfaana manzoor was my assessor, she was amazing and made me feel very comfortable and at ease, I would definitely recommend her to everyone. I passed with her and I couldn’t ask for a better person to be with me through this journey!

I took my blue lamp test yesterday and had mark howard in consett as my instructor he was absolutely brilliant I was nervous even though I have drove for years he put me at ease was calm and collected and just an all round lovely person thankyou mark

Orfana was an amazing Taxi driving Assessor.. Really relaxed and friendly, which made taking the Test less stressful. She explained things clearly and helped me feel confident behind the wheel! Thanks for giving me a Pass the 1st time... 😊

My partner Mike has Alzheimers and gets very confused with people coming into our home. Thankfully mick came out to us on two different occasions. Once to fit smoke alarms and key safe, the second time to fit a ring door bell. I can't praise Mick enough, he was so kind and reassuring to Mike. He included Mike in everything he was doing. I'm so greatfull as this made the, what would normally be an anxious time for Mike a pleasure. Thank you Mick. We are so happy with this service we have set up a donation every month. I recently completed my private hire test with the Blue Lamp Trust, and I must say the service was absolutely outstanding. From the moment I arrived, everything was organised, efficient, and professional.

A special mention to my assessor, Rukhsana Shahine, who was incredibly polite, courteous, and thoroughly professional throughout the process. She explained everything clearly and created a calm, respectful atmosphere that really helped put me at ease. Her approach made the whole experience smooth and stress-free.

Overall, I am very pleased with the experience and would highly recommend the Blue Lamp Trust to anyone preparing for their private hire test. First-class service all the way.

They are scams. On 6.06.2025 I supposed to attend a driving assessment at 5:30 pm in Croydon. I left Leatherhead at 4:00 pm but due to the very high traffic (accident on M23) I couldn't get in time. They asked to reebook the assessment paying again. Waste of money and time. Be careful guys with them. They will make it just to take your money.

Her punctuality was impeccable, ensuring the assessment commenced on time and proceeded with absolute efficiency. Louise's keen observational skills stood out, as she meticulously assessed every detail with precision and expertise.

A tired old man from Eastbourne who checked tyres claim that they are below the Legal limit,
Very disappointed as the tyres were good and in good condition. After arriving to the site test he was arguing me why I didn’t park where he was parking. It seems from the start I won’t pass. For me It is a scam. you paid £87 but you don’t get to do the test. Never again.

I’ve been driving for the best part of 50 years , so you might think , you know it all . But every days a school day , and I’ve learnt a few things today , from a very nice Gentleman Mr N whose calm and assuring manner not only put me at ease, but left me in no doubt as to what I needed to correct in my driving style to enable me to continue driving successfully and more overly safely. I think every driver over the age of 65 would benefit greatly from an hour with this gentleman to iron out those little creases that you pick up over the years. Thank you for your kindness and attention to detail … and readers please remember… the blue lamp trust is a non profit making organisation… all of the funds go

Today i had taxi assistment test with G Mehmood ADI 368449 be honest he slept during the Assessment his eyes was closed all the way like he had returned from the night shift and bring the negative antention to my test.
I never saw person that much tired and bored.
After finished my test I saw him spits badly on footpath what I will expect more from him.
This is a humble request to blue lamp trust kindly watch your Assessment condectors or medical checks is more advisable.
I wast my £87 after 18 years of my driving he treat me like child be honest it is a game of money.
If you take out the £87 from the test then there will be no failure.
Respect each other and try not to put public in difficult satiation.
Very disappointed from the company.
simply failed to observe the Road Marking (Temporary speed limit because of Road work and Lane closure) and failed my assessment claiming I changed the lane too early and made 21 oe 23 in 20 miles.
there is lords of road works nowa days and every driver will respond accordingly.
