1 star – Extremely dangerous driving
I am extremely concerned about the standard of driving by one of the taxis operating under Suncoast Cabs.
On Friday, 23 October, at approximately 10:18am, taxi T61 034 (No. 14), a 2025 Toyota Camry Sedan, was travelling near the Mooloolaba Road/Buderim Road area after coming off the Sunshine Motorway ramp.
The driver suddenly swerved right out in front of me, leaving me having to react quickly to avoid a collision. It was an extremely dangerous manoeuvre and very nearly caused a crash.
This is not a minor complaint about poor service or a delay. This was a serious road-safety issue involving a professional taxi driver. A vehicle being driven in this manner could cause a very serious accident and potentially injure or kill someone.
I have lodged a formal complaint with the company and expect the incident to be properly investigated, including checking any available GPS, dash-camera footage and driver records.
Suncoast Cabs now forms part of the Black & White Cabs network, so I expect the matter to be taken seriously by the current operator.
Professional drivers have a responsibility to drive safely and considerately around other road users. Based on this incident, I would urge the company to investigate this driver and take whatever action is necessary to prevent something much worse happening in the future.
