I have a Bitstamp account for almost 2 months and recently they removed 22,000 EUR from my account due to some administrative costs and 5-6 days later another 22,000 EUR disappeared because of some market failures. I tried contating them over email and they just closed/terminated my account and didn't want to open it again.

Pure scam, don't use this!

Bitstamp is supported by not English people at the costumer service, which is very bad and, they can't really resolve your problems. They can only refere to that you write to them. But this is a real problem because i have sent in my money and have problems getting them back. And if you wanna talk to a supervisor godd luck.

This is the oldest western Bitcoin exchange still around and therefore one might think it would be a market leader. Bit it isn't. After years of allowing only for a 'simple order' or 'limit order', the only developments of trading tools that Bitstamp have made is a 'Stop Loss' order, which functions as a limit order that triggers whenever price goes through your level....which means if price goes through your Stop Loss order and doesn't come back to your price point....Congratulations. You are now the proud owner of some worthless digital code that you paid thousands of pounds for, and which may or may not come back to your price within a few years time.

On the plus side. I think Bitstamp are just about the only Bitcoin exchange that haven't been robbing people blind as a matter of standard practice. So if you are just a buy n hold kind of guy and only want an exchange where the operators aren't going to just rob you, then this might be the exchange for you.

Finally received my International USD withdrawal fund.

Made the request on 9 Oct, request being processed on 19 Oct, fund received on 28 Nov...in between, sent 2-3 support tickets, waited on average 1-5 days for replies; called twice....all these yielded similar answers like all the others. Public statement by Bitstamp on ?6 Nov notifying customers about difficulty encountered for USD withdrawal did sooth my anxiety....overall, not a good experience with the waiting but outcome did save the company's image. Will think twice before deciding whether to use Bitstamp's services again.
