Stay Away – Privacy Violation and Dishonest Practices

I signed up for Microsoft Ads with the intention of running a simple campaign, but I never even got the chance. Right after providing all my personal and business information—including payment details—my account was blocked before I could launch anything.

No explanation. No warning. Just a message saying I “violated policies” without ever running a single ad.

Worse, they still hold onto all my data. This feels like a bait-and-switch: collect sensitive personal info, then shut you down for no reason. It’s unethical, invasive, and borderline fraudulent. I’ve contacted support multiple times, only to get robotic responses or no answer at all.

This platform is a data trap. Avoid it at all costs. Google, Meta, even Reddit Ads offer more transparency and actual customer support. Microsoft Ads? Just a waste of time—and a privacy risk.

The most useless leads ever

The most useless leads ever. I've been using Bing Ads for over 10 years, and its just trash. They send nothing but fake users on VPNs and other useless traffic. You'd be better off buying fake spam traffic on Fiverr than spending money on Bing. What a joke.

Feels like a racket to us

More like a racket. They started billing us far more than we originally set, when we investigated we discovered Microsoft ads had changed all of our settings and key words.
We switched off the Microsoft ads campaign only to find that they automatically switched it back on again the following day!
We tried to remove our billing details from their ads system, this appeared impossible. They kept on dipping in to our bank account and taking money, a lot of money.
These guys are crooks.
We have had no issues with the other Ad provider.

I hate Microsoft ads!

I'm finally done with Microsoft ads. I get pure scam clicks with 100% bounce rate. Now the bots always put an item in the cart and leave. What a scam! I'll check and I have 20 add to carts in one day from bing, but no sale and all visits are a few second only. And all their partner Sites are garbage as well. Customer service is incompetent . They have stolen lots of money with fraudulent clicks. They are worthless

Was recently charge a $100 pre-authorisation even though we aren't running any ads with Microsoft. This is not on.

Next time you should check there are ads running in an account before trying to hold someones money for 7 days. No other business could get away with this.

Their business model seems to be to hide settings and features that overrule people's ability to manage campaigns in order to spend maximum possible budget.

Microsoft Advertising Support

My experience with their support team while setting up my 2nd ad campaign was a complete nightmare. Their guidance not only proved to be utterly useless but also resulted in my account being suspended for alleged violations. It's shocking to see such incompetence and a complete lack of understanding of their own policies from their support team. Immediate and significant improvements are necessary to rectify this disastrous situation and provide users with a reliable and helpful support system. I strongly advise caution to anyone considering relying on their support team for assistance.

I am extremely disappointed and…

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with Microsoft Ads. I managed an account for a client and included a call extension on their ad which uses a Microsoft tracking phone number. When dialling the displayed number, it did not connect. My client and I tried over several days with the same result. This means they spent money with Microsoft which was wasted on ads with incorrect contact information. This was reported to Microsoft and it was extremely difficult to get them to understand what the issue was because their representatives have such poor English. I have been chasing this up with Microsoft and have emailed Jeriza 3 times over the past 3 weeks and he hasn't responded once. I have now lost my client and good regular income. Appalling service.

Huge dissappointment and time loss

Ah, I am another person that failed to get unsuspended after months of back and forth with the Microsoft advertising support.

In the end, no reason was given my account was closed as a final decision, before even running an ad.

Note: My business has a valid banking account and
is licensed with documentation.

I simply can't believe this

Getting rid of offensive side-panel ads

Where does someone report offensive ads that appear on the side panel of Outlook email? There's a very creepy ad by BestHearing that has a very closeup of a man "peering" at me like a pervert, while I'm working. It keeps popping up again and again. The ad doesn't have an x option to have it removed. If this offensive ad isn't removed from my email, I'll have to cancel my account, it's so unnerving.

What a joke

What a joke. Open an account and didn't even run any ads. After few hours, got that magic email "Violation of Egregious Policy"

I even verified the account, sending them my Id....So I thought "This is it, they are very serious once they ask for account verification 🤣🤣🤣)

Made an appeal, nothing changes. My
account will remain suspended for an
eternity ♾️ now.

Glad I didn't waste any time on any campaign creation.

With this occasion, I want to say A ENORMOUS SORRY TO FACEBOOK ADS...AS UNTIL TODAY, I THOUGHT FACEBOOK ADS IS THE WORST, AND THERE'S NO MORE SPACE FOR BEING EVEN MORE WORST....BUT LUCKILY, MICROSOFT JUST PROVED, THERE'S LOTS OF SPACE YET.

Unreasonable ads account banning

Unreasonable ads account banning. basically a first time user on bing ads and never ever place a single ads there. but their so called advanced system banned me and the review team is as useless as well. Egregious policy violations my ass, since those are basically impossible. unable to delete the account as well even though it's now useless and my personal data is there. It's my fault to try to open ads account using personal account. If there's no other way, I will delete the entire ms account.

Unjust and Shocking

First of all, I barely survived creating an account because I twice failed their awful 10 step test on checking whether I was a human.

Then, at the excitement of getting through with my humanity still intact, I immediately began setting up my first ad campaign. I am a seasoned ecommerce and marketing executive having represented some of the top sports brands in the world.

It asked me to verify myself as an advertiser, but clarified that it wasn’t necessary to do so right away. That I had a month to submit my documentation. Me, being a highly ethical business person, I opted to do it right away and mark as done.

Within 20 minutes of submitting my documentation, I was sent an email saying I failed verification. What? I submitted the valid legal documentation they requested. I started looking into how I could rectify the situation.

Then, within about an hour, my account was permanently suspended due to egregious violations. The list of possible offenses they provide is very long and broad, so you have no idea what occurred. But I am certain my business and myself meet very high ethical standards.

It then says you can go to your account and submit an appeal. Except… your account is forever suspended because they deem you a fraudulent person. And based on the multitude of reports online, this process is pointless.

This experience was beyond disheartening. It was shocking and dehumanizing. I guess they decided I wasn’t a human after all.

Worst organisation to use for ads

Worst organisation to use for ads. They ban your account for no reason and then provide no help over the phone to identify any specific issue.
I do not recommend them at all. I lost two weeks of wasted time trying to rectify an issue that did not exist only for them to spew the same crap at me with no help at all.

Go with Google. I found google easy and fast.

Microsoft Advertising sucks

Microsoft Advertising is like that episode of Family Guy where Stewie cloned himself but made the clone significantly inferior and then the clone ended up basically self-destructing. At first you think it's like Google Ads, but then you realize every single thing about this terrible platform is hopelessly broken. This culminated in Microsoft importing my entire Google Ads account into Microsoft Ads, somehow turning on campaigns that have been paused for years, and I ended up getting charged over $5,000 for an unauthorized import. I have been going back and forth between Microsoft's utterly useless representatives who cannot speak English to try to get a refund. There are so many other things I could write about Microsoft but I don't want to be sitting here typing for hours. Don't use Microsoft. It sucks. They will steal from you and then gaslight you.

The ads service from Microsoft is horrible

The ads service from Microsoft is awful. Set up some ads, similar to what we ran in Google for many years. Microsoft delayed everything for some kind of "review" which made no sense. They must have accidentally gone to a dark web site or a porn site to review the ad. Although our web site has been in place and successfully reviewed many times, Microsoft came back with a long list of egregious crimes, none of which were true. Someone at Microsoft is either drunk or stupid. And arrogant to boot. Nothing in their crazy list had anything to do with our web site. I have turned the ads off - NO THANKS MICROSOFT.

Steer Clear - Awful Service & ZERO Transparency

We used their import tool to import our Google Search Ads thinking it would be an easy way to expand our search marketing which was proving to be one of our best channels. Before we could even finish setting up the account, they deactivated it with no notice or warning. I attempted to reach out to their support across multiple channels including email, phone, & web to see what happened or if there was an issue that could be fixed. However, even after escalating it to the highest level we could, we were simply told their decision was final, and they couldn't provide any information to us about why it happened. I spent hours reviewing their content guidelines and advertising policy, nothing we were doing was in any way in violation or even in a restricted category. My recommendation is to steer clear of Mircosoft advertising. No platform that treats its customers this way is worth working in. They are easily the least helpful & least transparent advertising platform I have ever used. I will be sticking to Google from here on out, where the volumes are larger and where they actually work with their customers to resolve issues instead of permanently deactivating accounts without any kind of warning.
