We love the king prawn and scallop risotto, it's absolutely delicious and it's frequently on my food order. However, two littles niggles: the juices leak out of the wooden tray very easily (due to th... See more

Consistently excellent. I use the fish pie and lasagne regularly. I think the price is fair because the quality is always excellent and always consistent. I don't usually use pre prepped food. I usually make from scratch. Charlie Bingham meals are the exception. Simply add a vegetable or salad and you have a quality meal.

We tried the Moussaka for the first time. It was delicious! There was plenty of for two of us, we liked the potato with the avocado and lamb mince.

I have always rated your products very highly and kept a few in my freezer for emergencies or when i am busy and want a tasty meal.
More recently things have changed -not with the product quality but in the size of the portions and the price.
I recognise that food producers want to make their products more affordable in these ways , but the changes are now making me think twice about value for money and buying less.

Especially love the fish pie. Best there is and pleased it doesnt have prawns in as I don't really like them.
It is difficult to serve to look good on a plate.
I always add extra grated cheese on top as I think it improves it enormously- really the little bit CB put on is hardly worth the effort. Overall although relatively expensive it is a tasty quick meal

We tried Sicilian chicken with potatoes which was delicious, very tasty , would certainly buy again

Chicken tikka massala is delicious. Portion size is good for under a fiver per person. Last time I had enough left to stick in a scotch pie case for a lovely wee lunch.

I found it expensive, tasteless and definitely didn't taste homemade, the potions are small for 2 people I personally can eat one just for myself so works out very expensive

Can't say enough about these people.yeah it's a little more expensive than you probably would like but I think that if you pay a little more you get a better quality.and I don't mind paying for something that I know I will enjoy and that equals to money well spent.

Not enough fish. Young's better and much cheaper. Very expensive but only 3/4 of the size of most ready meals. Bought for me by my son as a treat, I can't afford it. Very disappointed.

I came out of work last month and just got a new job did not have the money to go out so we decided to get two of these meals for four of us two chicken Jalfrezi. I ended up donating my share to everyone else the was not enough meal for four :(
The seems to be a focus on the packaging and not the contents of the the meal .
Pros
Nicely presented packaging .
Cons
Poor meal quality
Very poor amount of food for two people. (its a meal for one )
Hardly any meat in the meal
Flavorless rice
Watery flavored main meal
Expensive with no justification for price?
Extremely disappointed in this so hyped .I have had better microwave meals. For £10 they should offer a money back refunded if not satisfactory.

I’ve praised Charlie Bighams meals several times on Waitrose’s review pages; so I was disappointed enough to add this here.
Spaghetti Bolognaise for 1
I’ve had this before and it’s pretty ok usually but the latest one I’ve bought and currently eating is almost completely Spaghetti and nill Bolognaise, with the Bolognaise just over a tea spoon’s worth. You need to get whoever makes this stuff to at least attempt to do Quality Control!
For what it costs, Charlie, please attempt not to ruin your reputation like this: it only takes one bad apple to ruin it.
Also have to add that your Chicken Korma and rice was also much worse than the last one I tried: I couldn’t finish that one.

We got the Chicken Tikka Massala for 2. Those wooden boxes they are practically empty. 5-6 small pieces of chicken in them, a bit of sauce and one box of rice. Ridiculous for the amount of money paid! Obvs they are all about making money, otherwise you would treat your customers with more respect... it is only chicken, surely can afford to make it more appealing and put some actual CHICKEN IN IT!!! Disgusting! Is this how you, CHARLIE, eat at home? Cause we don't! Will never buy again and none of our families as well. Make our own! Absolute rip-off! Shame on you!

Absolutely delicious for a supermarket ready meal, and we especially loved the packaging!

Have tried 2 meals so far and they are by far the best my husband and I have come across. Salmon parmigiana, steak in red wine

Recently tasted the Chicken Jalfrezi & Pilau Rice dish. The flavours were amazing - it was so tasty. It felt like I was eating freshly cooked, authentically made Indian food.
I’m won over. I shall never buy the cheap, mass produced and highly processed cheaper versions ever again.

Chicken Jalfrezi Absolutely lovely. You’re so wrong on your cooking details. Not suitable for air frying you say. Totally disagree. Chicken Jalfezi in air fryer for 19 mins. Rice in microwave for 3 mins. You’re totally missing the point of a meal that can serve 1 or 2 people quickly. Majority or people have air fryers these days. I’ve done cottage pie, fish pie, your curries and all have been amazing in an air fryer. No need to turn on the big oven

I bought two different meals, a chicken jalfreze and Thai green curry, for 2 people. while the sauce tasted nice. Sadly the chicken in them wasn't even enough for one. There was a Ridiculously small amount of chicken about a goujon and that's meant to do 2 people! Ridiculous. They charge more than the average so I thought I would be getting something better than Iceland. I've just read the label and it states 19% chicken. So divided by 2 that's 9.5% each. My 7 yr old eats more chicken than that. Is that how little you would eat in a meal Charlie?

Chicken tikka masala was a nice taste but not great overall. Not sure how you can justify the price bearing in mind I had the oven on for 30 minutes to cook it and portions were not very big. The chicken was soft and not generally a lot of texture to it. I can buy a good quality cooked ( no cooking by me) meal for about double the price from a local takeaway but the portions will be at least twice as big and feed two. May be I’m a grumpy old man and not your regular customers . Anyway you may take on board what I’ve said and best of luck.

Just had the macaroni cheese for one. I cook from scratch daily so to find I can have day off is great. Great food. No nasties - thoroughly delish
