The following is how BeenVerified.com fraudulently emptied my PayPal Account. I am a 79-year-old retired senior living in Florida, and I can be reached at 248-644-8092 and my name is John Mitchell
1. On 2/8/25 I wanted to see who owned a phone number and I agreed to pay BeenVerified.com $5 to find out who owned the phone number
2. Following this initial search I never used BeenVerified.com again. However, they billed me 9 times which emptied my PayPal account.
3. They billed me $28.79 on 2/16/25, 3/15/25, 4/15/25, 5/15/25, 6/15/25, 7/15/25, 8/15/2025 and 9/15/2025 for a total of $230.32 and that completely drained my PayPal account
4. Upon draining my PayPal account to $0.00, PayPal took $999 out of my Comerica bank account (ending in 335) twice on 2/5/2026 for a total of $1998 so BeenVerified.com could continue billing me. They took this out of my Comerica bank account ending in 335 without my permission and this is how I discovered BeenVerified.com was billing my PayPal account.
5. Comerica restored my $1998 on 3/2/2026 to my account ending in 335
6. Upon contacting PayPal they said they sent me notifications, but when I searched my emails including SPAM and TRASH I did not find ANY notifications and ditto for BeenVerified.com
7. Further contacts to BeenVerified.com resulted in them telling me they were refunding one $28.79 payment and could not refund anything after 60 days had passed (even though the one refund was for my 9/15/26 payment)
8. So BeenVerifed.com ripped me off for over $200 even though I called them MANY times and spent hours with them on the phone and sent repeated emails to them and I told them I was going to add their atrocities in communications with the BetterBusiness and lots more social media

I find a been verified charge on my bank statement for several months. I do not know these people and have reported them to my bank. I still do not have any business with them whatever.

Company is a scam. Paid the $5, you get 7 days then a monthly $30 something charge. I did 12 searches and only 1 came up saying it is a vpn. No additional info etc...Tried to cancel using the phone system...The phone system is a scam, always says there is a problem and takes you back to the beginning. Used Chat that says LIVE CHAT. Chat BOT, not live. BOT said "conversation include content beyond scope of what this service can support...for your safety...we are unable to continue". I typed in "And I now have a screen capture of this. IT SAYS LIVE SUPPORT". Immediatly came back on with live person....They are only charging $1...no other charges...
Just saying IT IS A SCAM....

It helped immensely when shopping for a pre-owned car. Where the dealerships would list a vin number as clean title, , no accidents, one owner...Been Verified found liens, multiple owners, recalls and frame damage. It wasn't perfect but super close. I gave it a 4* because I needed to also download a free site to check if a title was salvaged, or car was reported stolen. Together, I found the perfect car, and they provided a Car Fax report which confirmed the exact results I got from BeenVerified.

Not what I thought it was. Charge was deducted when I didn't realize. Then, they said I was suspended from their serviced anyway because I violated codes and was in danger?

I only went on there once to research 1 person and they charged me over $30. What a rip off!

First they did not have the info I needed. Although I asked before hand if the information I needed would be available. So they lied then. The trail offer was $1. When they did not have the info I requested I cancelled it the same day. Never even logged back in. Today my bank was charged over $35!! I contacted support and have the conversation downloaded. It took 2 agents to get it refunded. I will see if it is in 10 days. Also they were supposed to delete my banking info I do not trust them nor believe them on the removal of my banking info or the refund. I feel they deliberately scammed me

This company is a fraud. While their website is doing things in the background during your first search, they are somehow data mining your phone. I did not sign up for any sort of subscription, yet they charged my credit card $34.99 a month later. I disputed the charge as fraudulent with my bank, who cancelled that card and issued a new one with a new number. Now a month later, a new charge of $34.99 shows up on my new card! Clearly they installed some sort of data harvesting spyware on my phone, as there is no way they would have my new credit card number. Do not use this website!

I was under the impression that my cost was a one time payment but it turned out to be monthly. I am unhappy and want you to quit billing me

I signed up with them to help locate some family members. They don't warn you about the recurring payments until they're sent in, so I got billed for February.
On February 22nd, I did a password reset to access my account and cancel it... the process is NOT straightforward.
I sent an email on that same day to cancel my account, including my account number. I got an email saying an account with that information didn't exist. I thought, ok, it's cancelled.... it wasn't.
I got charged again on March 4th through my other email. When I responded telling them I'd already cancelled and asking them for a refund, I got the same canned response... an account with this information doesn't exist...
Sounds like a way to keep getting money from you.
I sent another email with screenshots of the emails, etc. We'll see what happens.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS WEBSITE!!!

Sign up was easy and info provided was very good. I used the service one time only when I signed up, thought I would need it more. When it turned into something needless for me, I was able to quit the service quickly and easily. I was very appreciative of their cooperation.

It is NOT free. And they make sure to get your email address before you’re told. So while you get nothing, they include your email address as part of information sold to make money.
