Thought I give a nice review to give balance in regards to the other review.

I found my experience pleasant, excellent selection of fictional and children's book, though a little light on non fiction history but each to its own I suppose.

The lady at the desk was nice to talk to and we discussed various Michael Crichton books (wasn't overly impressed with Jurassic Park) but she did forget to give me my change but she was suddenly occupied by an American lady who, shockingly, couldn't stop talking and seeing it was an independent establishment I decided I didn't really mind being a couple of pounds short. So my only criticism is if you are paying in cash, make sure you have the intended change unless you don't mind

I was recently in this shop and received verbal abuse from the owner who called me a STUPID B---- I was never rude and didn't deserve being treated like this. No one does. I'm a calm rational person and she went absolutely ballistic about me asking to purchase a small item on my card. Unacceptable behaviour.
