Found on my Mothers bank account £34.99…
Found on my Mothers bank account £34.99 monthly direct debit.
She doesn't know how we even subscribed in the first place
Should have paid notice to the terrible reviews
As I decided to only have a digital copy I believed I would have less chance of any issues...wrong!!
Having paid the initial subscription charge I downloaded the app and tried to log in...not recognised. So I tried to contact somebody from the publishers...no live contacts just an email address. So have written to them requesting a refund due to dreadful customer experience.
Avoid At All Costs
Magazine delivery very sporadic. Changed the terms of contract without notice and although I had written evidence, refused to resolve this. Useless telephone customer service and no reply to registered letter.
Unauthorised direct debit (one more of many)
Bauer Media Group set up a unauthorised direct debit of £4.00 to Kirkby Microwave Ltd on 3rd September 2021. Our bank, RBS, refunded us quickly.
This was reported to the police via the Actionfaud website. The police wrote to say "We have reviewed your case and have not been able to identify a viable line of enquiry"
The police are considering investigating a party at 10 Downing Street that took place more than a year ago, but can't identify a viable line of iequiry with Bauer Media Group, who are stealing from lots of companies. There are LOTS of reports on Trustpilot of unauthorised direct debits set up to companies. Someone else reported an unauthorised direct debit on 16th December 2021 to a charity!
Who is worst, Bauer Media Group or the police? You decide.
NO REFUND POLICY
How can a company have a NO REFUND POLICY. It is ridiculous, never told it was on automatic renewal, never got an email warning me of this either, or to ask if I wanted to renew. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do NOT use this company for magazine subscriptions. YOU WILL REGRET IT, and you will pay the price (Pun intended)
If I could give 0 stars I would. RIP KLFM
If I could give 0 stars I would. This company only cares about money. A few years ago they shut down our local radio station KLFM with little notice to it's amazing presenters who had carried the station to winning several Sony awards. KLFM used to pride themselves on "real music variety" playing songs from the 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's and current chart toppers. Bauer Media have switched Greatest Hits Radio to the frequency which is decent but doesn't play anything modern and plays the same songs on all of it's stations regardless of the location. Bauer ruined local radio in King's Lynn.
Absolutely waste of space
I have only given 1 star as i had to click on something.
These people do not deserve any stars.
I ordered a copy of Practical Classics near the beginning of November. I never received it then i got sent a copy of Practical sportsbike. After emailing too and fro and being promised on a few occasions that the mag i ordered was in the post and would be with me soon i still have not received anything. I would most definitely NOT recommend placing ANY order with this company as they are useless
Unauthorised DD payment taken
Took a direct debit payment of £4.20 from a charity bank account with no warning and we have not subscribed to any magazines. The description against the charge was First Payment, which makes me worry they will try this again even though I've cancelled the DD with the bank. Total scam!
Subscribed for outdoor swimming…
Subscribed for outdoor swimming magazine, never got a single copy and I find they have taken money off me for a seCond year!!! Impossible to cancel direct debit. AVOID at all costs, a con outfit.
Underhand tactics on renewal
Underhand tactics on renewal, deliberately make it difficult to cancel renewals. Don’t give you notice of renewal. Can sign up via website but not cancel. (Make sure to look up reviews for Bauer Media Group).
Beware
Beware. When you order a magazine subscription from these charlatans (in my case Country Walking) it will be a continuous credit card payment with no end date. They will automatically take the following year's subscription early and without any notification. Warning - check your initial confirmation email for the small print and if you do not want the following year's subscription cancel many months before your renewal date.
On the plus side, my magazines arrived in a timely fashion.
AVOID dishonest company!!!!!!
Im afraid Im going to echo what a lot of others have said. I has a subscription with this company in 2016-2017 for a couple of home mags. All well and good, I remember the mags coming every month etc. The year subscription ran out and I decided not to renew.
Well, I have just noticed a random DD for £38 on my account this November. I have honestly spent an hour trying to figure out what the hell it is for. Low and behold, with the help of this site I have come to realise that for the past FIVE years, every November they have taken £38 out of my bank for magazines I have not received and didnt ask for. From reading other poeple's reviews its because I didnt cancel the DD when the year's subscription was up.
HOW RIDICULOUSLY DISHONEST OF THIS COMPANY to carry on knowingly taking the money and not delivering any goods. Surely their years accounts show that they are taking this (and hundred's of other people's) without sending anything out. They have effectively STOLEN over £140 from me because I didnt notice this transaction on my November bank statements. I think its absolutely shocking and I think they have a FULL idea that this is happening. Clearly the DD should stop when the subscription stops and if they are continuing to take money for no products, their accounts people should flag this. Completely disgusting.
Ill not bother trying to get the money back as I know I'll get nowhere (there will be some small print somewhere) and Im so cross about it Id rather not give this company another minute.
AVOID!!!!!!
Tried to cancel subscription for my dad…
Tried to cancel subscription for my dad who can no longer read due to failing eyesight - no response and kept subscription going - sent message 4 times still nothing back
AVOID
Have taken a direct debit out of our charity account that I didn't authorise. The bank refunded it but Bauer have taken it again. Avoid
Absolute scammers and frau merchants
Absolute scammers and frau merchants - took £52 out of my account without my permission. Tried many different ways to cancel but impossible. Avoid at all costs - we should all contact our MPsand probably better Martin Lewis to get him to investigate..
Unbelievable how they promise the earth and take you for a ride.
Just got £42.10 taken from my account…
Just got £42.10 taken from my account to pay for another year of ride magazine which is poor. There was no notification of the money coming out I've rang them, got some foreign call centre on telling me they will not refund and cancel the magazine as I didn't cancel before the due date. I have cancelled now but have to endure another 12 months of this uninformative tosh.!!!!
Please don't be taken in by this company
I was lucky
I was lucky, I checked my bank and noticed a direct debit for £3.10 was due to leave my account tomorrow. Cancelled the direct debit as I don’t have a subscription with Bauer Media or have ever authorised them to set to a direct debit.
Pretty disappointed that they have a no…
Pretty disappointed that they have a no refunds policy. The notification for my subscription auto renew said it wasn’t due for a few days but then found it had already been taken. I immediately contacted them to cancel and ask for a refund but was told they can’t refund any of the fee.
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. Have given up trying to get the magazine I paid for months ago.
