While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

I never subscribed to their service

I never subscribed to their service. My mobile company Vodacom bills me every month for a service or product I purchased from Basebone. But I don’t even know who they are. I don’t know the product or service. Three months ago I submitted a complaint to them and they promised to stop. However they continue to bill me

Thieving scum

Thieving scum. RBS lets the money leave your account before you can report fraud. Got it back though. Thieving scum.

Not Happy

I was using Youtube to check out another company. I followed a link to what I expected to be their website but got redirected to Basebone, trading as Original+. It wasn't obvious because I ended up on their credit card verification page that looks anonymous. Since I was expecting to be asked for card verification I put in my card details, only to be told that I had signed up for their streaming service. At that point I strongly suspected a scam, as did my bank, and my card is now cancelled to avoida security risk. I am of the opinion that the misdirection was deliberate and since the only beneficiary would have been Basebone AKA Original+ I can only infer that they were behind the misdirection. Having to replace my card is very inconvenient and if this is sharp practice on the company's part I certainly wouldn't want to do business with them.

Looks like a "Payforit" scam...

This company appear to be operating a "Payforit" SMS text messaging scam. I have been subscribed to a £4.50-a-month 'service' called 'Baseplay' without my knowledge, and am unable to send the 'STOP' message to the shortcode given in their texts. Looking up the link to 'bzm.tv' in the messages eventually led me to the Basebone website, which seems to be the parent company.

The texts look like regular SMS spam, but make sure you're not actually being charged a fee before you delete or block them!

P.S. My deepest sympathies to anyone else trying to unsubscribe from these "Payforit" scams - network operators don't seem to understand or care about the problem!
