A heartless organisation

There is no point offering state of the art healthcare if its benefits are wiped out by unconnected support services. Someone I know was today kept waiting for hours for his discharge to be processed. The entire shambles left him distraught and in tears. He is terminally ill. If this is typical of the NHS, it's high time the entire organisation had a spring clean. Brilliant staff at all levels, dysfunctional system.

Rough treatment and poor communication

My partner has terminal cancer. He attended the Smithfield site for a scan yesterday. It was a very poor experience. My partner also has Alzheimer's Disease. He is 72. The technician who fitted the cannula was very rough. My partner has a lot of bruising today. He had poor English and his communication with someone who has Alzheimer's Disease was poor. After the cannula had been fitted, we waited for an hour and 20 minutes. We were given no update and we asked about progress after 70 minutes. Patients with Alzheimers Disease become agitated.

Physio therapy Dept. @ Whipps Cross

I have been attending physio therapy at Whipps Cross hospital since January 2026 after I had a bad accident a few months before, my phyio therapist, Vishwa Sherlekar, has been wonderful, she has been very encouraging, informative and helpful, I am now able to walk again without the help of walking frames or crutches. My thanks also to the reception staff in that clinic, they are friendly and very helpful. Many thanks to all.

I am under Bart's health and I have…

I am under Bart's health and I have never had reason to complain until now. The whole of my lower body is affected due to severe ,severe chronic neuropathic pain.I have been this way for a year and a half almost. It' is both debilitating and excruciating. To the point I have tried to take my own life on two occasions. I do not want to die at all. I just wanted the pain to stop. Every time you call them you get an answer phone. There are three different numbers each with a different lady. Thereis nothing I can do and even the doctors have tried to get through to the pain team but with the same success as myself. The doctors have wrote asking for advice and guidance and again no reply. What the hell can I do? Please help me.

Staff won’t look you in the eyes

Staff won’t look you in the eyes, will barely speak to you. Reception staff will ignore you for personal funny conversations for ten minutes,

You ask for a nurse and the staff just look at you and tell you to calm down and they are comming like they told you 30 minutes previous.

I got seen 4 times by 4 different people and they all had no idea what was wrong, after seeing five people all I have had is a blood test.

Their toilets are discusting and unsanitary I have been here for 5 hours and they’ve only gotten worse! I would rather pee in the road.

Staff are rude and have no bed side manor. And if you do get a response out of someone they can’t understand what you’re asking for because they speak basic English.

The service and care is discraceful there is no ‘care’ in this NHS hospital. You are just a burden for comming in with an issue.

Excellent service

I recently attended the dermatology dept.at Whipps Cross Hospital. The service I received by Dr.Shah, dermatology consultant, was excellent. He was attentive and patient and was able to remedy my issue.

Stay away from The Dental Hospital

Very disappointing experience at the dental hospital. The reception staff were consistently rude and dismissive. Simple questions about appointments were met with eye-rolling and a generally unhelpful attitude, which made the environment feel quite uncomfortable.
What was most concerning was that this behaviour appeared to be tolerated. A supervisor called Veronica was present but did not seem to address the conduct, which gave the impression that this type of interaction with patients is accepted.
Patients attending a hospital are often already anxious, so basic courtesy and professionalism should really be the minimum standard. Blame culture! I asked for a manager and I was told they don’t work Tuesdays! Absolute disgrace.

Avoid Barts NHS Trust Ambulance Service…

Avoid Barts NHS Trust Ambulance Service .

I accompanied a vulnerable care home resident to a hospital appointment. After the appointment finished, we were left waiting for several hours for the ambulance to take us back. There was no clear communication, no updates, and no consideration for the resident’s condition or comfort.

This level of delay is unacceptable when transporting vulnerable patients. The service showed poor organisation and a complete lack of empathy.

This was a deeply disappointing and unacceptable experience. Their motto is “We care,” but based on this experience, it felt like they do not care at all.

Operation at Whipps Cross Hospital

My experience at Whipps Cross has been fantastic due to the amazing staff, such as Emily from the Admissions Department and gynaecologists Dr Rebecca and Mr Funmilayo Odejinmi as well as the lovely Anaesthetic Team that dealt with me for my operation. The staff at Poplar Ward took such great care of me with their humour and kindness.

Royal London Whitechapel

Great service at A&E just before Christmas then it all gos wrong. Millions spent on a state of the art trauma hospital but can’t get hold of anyone to speak to about my surgery and ultrasound.
Left voicemails no one calls back call repeatedly left in a cycle of operator fracture clinic and voicemail

Had a Tavi two days a ago and I was looked after superbly. Especially by Mickaela, Alice and Noreen. My surgeon Dr Mullen was wonderful and a particular shout out to the wonderful anaesthetists and my warm mattress I lay on to have the operation as I suffer dreadfully from the Cold. I couldn't have asked for better care and although I had one bad night they were there to look after me and reassure me.

Sawyer Centre was great.

I had treatment at the Sawyer Centre. It was excellent. Friendly, caring and professional staff. Much better than my experience as an NHS patient at a private hospital.

This hospital I thought was really good…

This hospital I thought was really good until I came here. Yesterday I came to emergency through the doctors letter waited over 5 hours before I was seen then when doctors saw me that’s not 1 doctor but 2 and one nurse wasted another hour then I was told ultrasound is closed they can’t do anything nor can they keep me as there’s no bed, so I was told to come tomorrow 8:30am so I came at 8am sharp, told the receptionist sat down 2 hours gone by and only few people so I went to reception to ask how long, receptionist ask name said my name then she says your not in the system did you just arrive said no I came here at 8am so she checks and say oops we changed over and she wrote it in a piece of paper and I didn’t see that’s after 2 hours absolutely useless first lazy reception didn’t put my name on computer and second lazy one couldn’t bother to look how this people even got a job

Thank you for great experience

I am Anthony hunter and had new hearing aids fitted by ?Padoma in Whipps cross in my 4pm OP appointment today (10 October). She was so clear, patient and sensitive in the way she explained everything and enabled me to try them out, ask questions, and soon. Great experience and a credit to the hospital.
