My 6-year-old son attended the Millais School camp and came home in tears after his experience.

Unfortunately, he was placed in a group with children who were unkind to him, and it appears their behaviour was neither witnessed nor managed by staff. As a result, he spent much of the day feeling upset rather than enjoying the activities.

He also didn't get to take part in several of the activities that were advertised. He told me he only had around five minutes at the water park, which consisted of a small slide and shallow pool. He said he spent a long time waiting for archery, but only two children actually got a turn, so he never got to participate. When I asked about the motorsports activity, he said he didn't get to do that either.

While waiting for archery, children he didn't know repeatedly hit the cap he was wearing on his head. Another child also burst his balloon animal. When I asked if he had told an adult, he said he had, and that he was told they would make him another. Unfortunately, this never happened. I ended up taking him back to a member of staff myself so they could follow through with what had been promised.

It was heartbreaking to see him come home so distressed after what should have been a fun day. We had expected a well-supervised environment where all children would be treated kindly and have the opportunity to participate in the advertised activities.

Sadly, based on this experience, we won't be returning.

My son has been attending Barracudas every Summer for the last 3 years and it is his favourite holiday camp. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly, could not be happier. Thanks Barracudas Team

My son absolutely loves it and there are so many activities happening that it just would not compare to keep him at home! The staff are all very supportive and caring and the location is great too!

The only improvement I would ask for is for the daily timetables to be updated 24/48 hrs before. As there have been times when it’s not updated on the morning off which makes preparation hard

Barracudas is the greatest camp of all time. Everybody who goes there has fun and the people there are very nice. They have all sorts of amazing activities. I’m definitely going back next summer for the third time!

My 7 year old LOVES Barracudas. She can be very shy and often gets a bit of separation anxiety. Staff are excellent and reassuring to help her with the first morning transition of being dropped off.

She comes out smiling, telling me all about different staff members how they have been great in the day, loving all the activities, many of which she has never done before.

I have been using Barracudas for a few years now and cannot recommend it highly enough. So many fun activities so my daughter never gets bored.

We've just started our first week at the Horsham Millais School Barracudas camp, and so far the experience has been mixed.

The staff have all been polite and welcoming, but I think communication with parents of children in the Early Years group could be much better.

On the first day there was a brief verbal handover at pick-up, but it felt quite generic. On the second day there wasn't any update at all. At this age, children often can't tell you much about their day, so parents are left trying to piece things together.

My child also came home disappointed on day 1 after saying there wasn't much to play with indoors and that on day 2 (i.e., today) they didn't get the opportunity to go on the advertised bouncy castle activity (maybe some children did, but my child didn't get on it).

I completely understand that plans sometimes change or not every child gets to do every activity, but it would be helpful if this was communicated to parents.

It would also be reassuring if there were an opportunity for parents of younger children to see the facilities at some point, where safeguarding arrangements allow, as children this young can't always describe where they've been or what they've done during the day.

One suggestion I'd love to see is a daily update through the Barracudas app for the Early Years groups. It doesn't need to be lengthy, just a short summary of what the group did, along with the occasional photo or video. Children of this age can't always explain their day, and updates like this would give parents much more reassurance and confidence in their experience.

Overall, I think the camp has potential, but better communication and transparency for parents of the youngest children would make a significant difference.

Alice, Martha, Caitlin, Flora, and Mia were all the most kind and responsible, reassuring and and respectful Team, Additions to this were Max, Olivia, Alicia, Jess and Freya who supported my grandson with open hearts and just so much fun as well!

He had a great first week and is so looking forward to the next ones!

My little boy has had his first week at the Twickenham Barracudas. I was nervous sending him to his first camp but he’s loved every minute of it. He comes out buzzing from such a fun packed day (and completely exhausted)!
The staff are so helpful and friendly

He can’t wait to go back… hope it lasts!

My son's attended in few occasions the Cambridge Long road, is always a guarantee, staff is friendly and careful, always a lot of fun going on

Our daughter loves the camp in Chislehurst, she looks forward to it every holiday. The activities are varied and the staff are professional and make it fun for the kids.

Both my children attending the Huntingdon camp over Easter and they had a fantastic time.
The range of activities available was amazing. My daughters favourite was swimming and my son loved the go karts, dodgeball and football.
The staff were all really friendly and supportive.
Overall I was very impressed with everything and the children will certainly be returning.

The staff were generally average, but I do feel that more attention should have been given to safety, organisation, and the overall wellbeing of the children. The camp also felt oversubscribed. The rooms seemed quite small for the number of children attending, and my daughter found the environment very noisy and crowded, which made the experience uncomfortable for her.

I was particularly concerned about the swimming day. My daughter reported that the pool water had visible white particles in it, and children should not have been allowed to swim in those conditions. Following this, she developed a painful eye infection and is still on antibiotics, which made the whole experience even more upsetting.

I was also unhappy with the go-karting activity. On a warm, sunny day, the children were made to wear heavy outfits, and my daughter kept saying that she felt very hot and could not breathe properly. This did not feel safe, and it did not seem that there was enough attention given to how the children were coping.

Considering the cost of £60 per day, I was expecting a much better standard of care, organisation, and attention to health and safety.

Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and I would have expected a much better-run camp.

Fantastic team and an amazing camp! My 8 year old loved it and is begging to return! What more could I want really? Thanks to all those who looked after my boy 💙

My son attends Barracudas during half term, usually twice a week, and we’ve really appreciated the supportive and caring environment.
I especially want to mention Matt, who made a big difference on days when my son was not feeling good about himself. He took the time to listen and support him with patience and kindness, which meant a lot to us.
Thank you to the team for looking after him so well.

Fantastic camp highly recommend to anyone great friendly Caring staff fantastic activities with lots to choose from my son takes a while to feel comfortable around strangers this is the only camp he has wanted to go back too

We’ve had a really positive experience with Barracudas Chislehurst.

Well-organised, good communication, and the staff clearly know how to handle kids with energy and structure. The range of activities keeps things varied, so it doesn’t feel repetitive even across multiple days. Drop-off and pick-up are mostly smooth, which makes the day easier to manage.

Most importantly, the kids come back happy and tired.

Not the cheapest option, but you can see where the money goes. Would use again.

Barracuda’s is brilliant. It is well run with lots of different activities. The teachers are very caring and my children love going.
