Avoid Amazon 0% Barclays
980/1000 'excellent' credit score across all agencies and earn £60k+ yet declined for 0% offer on Amazon through Barclays. Something not correct here.

Shocking you are forced to open an account with massive checks and then have to wait for over draft stuff etc.
Stay well clear, closed my straight away.
Just got told I can only borrow half…
Just got told I can only borrow half the amount of finance for my wren kitchen. To say I’m disappointed is not enough. Never missed a payment and got a mortgage only a couple of months ago.
I don’t think they know how finance or interest works.
Bought item from apple on Barclays the item arrived I didn’t like it and returned with the 14days. Barclays seem to drag their knuckles and it took them 2 months to finally say account settled but they also slapped 6 months worth on interest on rather than refund me the payment I made. I’m unsure why they did this and their customer service is arrogant and not willing to help. There credit checking system is also pathetic and after I got accepted my credit report showed I had an overdrawn account with barclays and impacted my credit rating negatively spoke with company who I monitor my report with and they said Barclays have a habit of processing finance incorrectly and causing issues. Thankfully now balance zero I’m now not in a fake default and working on getting Barclays to rectify their mistake. Do not trust this finance it could cost more in the long run approval depends on how they force your application through proper dodgy and morally wrong
Barclays account getting closed tomorrow.
I have had a Barclays current account for the last 10 years, £2,000 going in every month along with a £2,000 overdraft that I have never used and I have just been turned down for installments on a £100 purchase from Amazon. I wish I had just stuck it on the credit card as my credit score will now be dented. If Amazon are going to use such a company, I will be avoiding them in the future as well.
My credit history is perfect, so how on earth I did not fit their criteria, I have no idea. I'm changing banks due to their stupid and bizarre decision!!!
Looking at the other reviews, I am one of many that have been refused a small amount of credit even though I have never missed an installment or have defaulted in my life.
Consider this review if you are thinking of using Barclays Finance if you have a perfect credit history. You could be disappointed and end up with a dent in your score, which I now have thanks to them.
A joke
If you see anything you want that has Barclays finance, then forget it because even with perfect credit scores etc, they still decline you and often for no valid reason or explanation.
I recently got credit from another finance company to buy a car, so clearly my credit was fine to be accepted for that.
Yet when I applied for credit on Apple’s website for £39 a month to buy the iPhone 14 I was turned down even though I have good credit for years.
Barclays is a waste of time and think Apple needs to reconsider their finance partnership!
Shame I can't give a zero rating!
This is how Barclays partner finance work. Because of my salary, credit score, circumstances etc I was allowed up to £3000 and can't remember what the monthly payment limits were. Used about half of this, paid it off then Barclays partner finance algorithm decided that despite paying back early that I could keep my credit limit but with a maximum monthly repayment of just £10, or to put it another way, 25 years of paying off £3000 but only if there is zero interest. Safe to say that this financial agreement is worthless to just about anyone.
I call them, they say they can't do anything as its due to my circumstances. So I say to close the agreement as there's nothing on it and it's useless if I can only go as far as paying £10 a month.
Now it gets very weird. Over the 12 hours since I cancelled this absolutely nothing has changed for me. I think I'll see what happens if I reapply for Barclays partner finance and lo behold I am suddenly in a situation where Barclays now believe I can have up to £1500 and maximum payments of £570 a month!!
That's some difference I would say, that over night I, according to Barclays can go from £10 a month being as much as I can afford to suddenly being able to afford nearly 6000% more. Mind blowing! Maybe I need to check that I didn't win the Monday night lottery, that I don't play.
Barclays Finance not worth applying for
Credit Score is good, i have no mortgage and little oustanding debt. yet Barclays refused credit for a kitchen purchase at wrens.
upon enquiring the reason to the declined application, apparently i did not meet the criteria and could not give any other explanation.
I do wonder if Wren set the bar too high for lending eligibility to avoid paying the subsidies to barclays for providing the finance.
Recording credit card details!
Automated ID&V system terrible at translating, Then got through to human to pay off loan over the phone and my full payment card details would have been recorded on their call recorder! The operator had never heard of PCI DSS and clearly knows nothing about the rules to protect customers' payment card details. Will pay via BACS instead.
Charged for helping them?!?
I've been perfectly happy with them up until my phone call yesterday. I was asked if I would answer a few questions about the call I'm a survey. I said yes. Fortunately, my mobile us set up to notify me of any action (and to block it until authorised otherwise) that I do which will result in a charge. I answered the first question, pressed send, and was notified that this text was going to.cost ME MONEY!!! 😡.
How dare any company charge ME for the privilege of giving them feedback about THEIR service! Absolutely disgusting!!!
Feeling embarrassed 😳
Never been refused credit until now!!!.
Applied for 0% to finance a kitchen through Wrens, application got referred, they then asked for payslips and proof of other income that I declared on my application to which I did.
Over a week later application declined.
I am a home owner with good credit as never been late or missed 1 single payment.
I would not have applied for credit if I had a poor history.
I actually felt embarrassed when Wrens telephoned to say I had been declined.
Wrens you need to ditch this appalling finance company as you must be loosing alot of business.
What a joke of a company!
Home owner with 950+ credit score yet I get declined for 5x25 monthly payments. What an absolute joke. This is not a 1-star review, this is ZERO STARS! After calling support the only thing I was told is to get my finances in order before applying again 😡😡😡😡😡
nothing short of appalling
The customer service is nothing short of appalling. I understand Barclays partner finance is actually a separate entity to Barclays themselves, however, having banked with Barclays for over 15 years. I believe Barclays should be ashamed to have their name plastered all over this complete joke of a finance company.
Buy now pay later loan
Bought a TV and soundbar through Richer sounds and used the buy now pay later option provided by Barclays partner finance.
Was super easy to register and get approved for and very easy to pay when the term was coming to an end.
Got plenty of reminders and notifications on what charges/interest would be if I didn't pay the outstanding balance before a certain date.
Would use them again for another purchase.
Useless Account.…
£3000 limit. Try to buy something and we get a big NO!. What use is this account? Very confused. Seems to be the trend with this company. Looks like we all got the same credit limit too.
Decided to use the facility for a Mac…
Decided to use the facility for a Mac purchase - opted for interest free and made 5 x £467 payments, all on time and no issues. Got handed a credit limit of £3000.
Account has been at £zero for about 6 months, decided to take advantage again via Amazon for a much smaller purchase (less than £200 in total). Checked app, all in good stead, zero balance.
Processed via Amazon and got this:
Unfortunately, we can't offer you an instalment plan to cover this order.
Our decision was based on the details in your application and information from credit reference agencies Experian, TransUnion and, in some cases, Equifax. We also get information from CIFAS, a fraud-prevention service.
So basically, I don't have a reusable facility (as they state in their literature when opening the account) and they can pick and choose whether you can use the very account they setup with a credit limit. Baffling.
Maybe it was because there was zero interest (again) but in all seriousness, why waste everyones time with an 'ongoing / reusable' facility when clearly IT IS NOT.
In future I'll just use the instalments via Amazon and ditch these jokers. Will be instructing them to close the account tomorrow - useless organisation.
SIMPLY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR!!
SIMPLY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR!!
Barclays Partner Finance has failed to take monthly direct debits from my account, sent no letters, lied about sending letters and text messages when all the while they had the wrong email and phone number! As a result they marked a missed payment on my account that I have disputed and filed an official complaint with Jasem Shinwari, who ignored it and said they have done everything right! Not taking responsibility for sending all letters to my previous address I dont live at! Of course no letters or texts reach me. jasem.shinwari was rude, obnoxious and a horrible person to deal with. I have now taken Barclays to FO and will be filing court action to get the unlawful late payment charge removed from my credit file. DO NOT DEAL WITH BARCLAYS!!!
If 0 stars were available as an option…
If 0 stars were available as an option they’d get that. + 15 years a business and personal customer of Barclays … never overdrawn and 000s on deposit in reserve accounts. V high credit score. Declined on £1100 BPF through Amazon. Really Barclays ???
Approved but account limit and spend cap are redundant! Makes no sense!
Applied and got approved for limit of £3000 and ordered an item shy of £800 this instalment plan is fine so far as far as I’m aware as I have the product and plan seems to be active.
I Decided to add a few more items late Christmas things. Bear in mind I have a limit of 3k and have been declined on an item worth £350! What the hell is the point In giving me a credit limit and monthly spend up to value when you just decide upon applying that transaction!? The balance limit and spend limit are redundant and pointless when you’re not allowing customers to use said limits. This makes literally no sense!
If I could give 0 stars I would.
If I could give 0 stars I would.
I ordered an iPhone 14 pro, got approved by Barclays the same day allegedly, contacted apple 3 times in the space of 3 days to ask why my order was still on hold.
They would blame Barclays when I got in touch with Barclays, Barclays would blame apple.
6 live chat attempts and 2 phone calls later they both were blaming each other and I still had no answers.
Never in my life have I ever dealt with partner companies that aren’t on the same page and blame eachother. Severely unprofessional.
