BofA fraud department called me about if I had made a balance transfer request. I had and called them back. Totally spent over two hours on hold trying to contact fraud department. Spent an hour today... See more

Very poor service
Very poor service. Had to wait more than an hour over the phone just to get connected with an agent. That’s ridiculous.
⚠️ WARNING TO ANYONE BANKING WITH BANK…
⚠️ WARNING TO ANYONE BANKING WITH BANK OF AMERICA OR ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERING THEM AS A FINANCIAL INSTITUTION ⚠️
I was a Bank of America customer for more than 10 years. During that time, I trusted them with millions of dollars flowing through my accounts.
Then, without warning, my accounts were suddenly shut down.
I was given no meaningful notice, no reasonable opportunity to prepare, and no clear explanation that justified what happened. Even worse, Bank of America has held my funds for approximately four months, and as of today, I still have not received my money back.
Think about that.
You can bank with a company for more than a decade, keep substantial amounts of money with them, follow their processes, and still wake up one day to find your accounts closed and your money inaccessible.
This experience has caused serious disruption, stress, and financial damage. I never imagined that an institution I trusted for so many years could treat a longtime customer this way.
I am sharing this as a warning: do not assume your money will always be accessible simply because it is sitting in a major bank. Keep backup accounts, diversify where you hold your funds, maintain detailed records, and have a plan in place in case your bank suddenly decides to end the relationship.
This is my personal experience with Bank of America, and I would strongly encourage anyone using them—especially business owners—to protect themselves and seriously consider whether they want to continue trusting this bank with their money.
Bank of America, I am still waiting for the return of my funds and it has been over 4 months.
Absolutely worst customer service
Absolutely worst customer service. Every call is a guaranteed 20 minute wait. No one can tell me why I cannot transfer money from another financial institution to BOA. The app cannot give me answers and their people cannot tell me either. SMH.
No customer service over the phone.
No customer service over the phone.
Wait time excessive.
They just hang up on you if you don't press a button.
I went into branch because when I tried…
I went into branch because when I tried myself I was on hold over 30
When I went into Bank of America branch
Shamari moody (bank associate)was excellent ,
Attentive , and efficient, tried to resolve all issues rapidly
The worst bank ever!
The worst bank on the face of the Earth!! Their slogan is “What do you like the power to do?”, but they don’t let you do anything!! I was fined two late fees for $20 each, not because I paid late, but because my payment was not posted by their system in time, so they fined me!! What a terrible institution. And even the managers there didn’t have to power to waive those fees for their own customer. I wish I could talk to their CEO, who I’m sure is a failure himself, to let him know how bad his bank is. Just terrible.
They won't give my niece her money!
My mother died and they refused to give my niece her money that was in a POD account in her name. She provided an original death certificate. Instead, she is still waiting for her check over a month late after a review by their estate department. The amount: less than $5,000.
Thirty Years of Trust, No Support When It Mattered
I have been a loyal Bank of America customer for over 30 years. Last week, my accounts were emptied after I became the victim of a highly sophisticated scam. I fully acknowledge that I was deceived and accept responsibility for my part in what happened.
What I cannot accept is what happened inside the bank.
When I went into a Bank of America branch to withdraw my money, the branch manager later admitted to me that he recognized I was likely being scammed and that he "should have done more." Despite seeing what was happening, no one warned me, asked additional questions, or attempted to intervene before I handed over my life savings.
The police are investigating, but Bank of America has offered me no meaningful assistance. The amount of money may not be significant to a bank of this size, but it was everything I had. It has left me struggling to pay my bills and recover financially.
After more than three decades of loyalty, I expected my bank to be a partner in protecting its customers from obvious fraud, not a bystander that later admits it could have intervened.
As soon as I am financially able, I will be closing all of my accounts and moving to a bank that places a higher priority on protecting and supporting its customers.
I had a majorproblem ans the bank…
I had a major problem ans the bank refused to help. Even thouh it was their issue. We moved our business and personal account and credit cards and all loans to a different bank. Just a horrific experieince.
After 26 years of holding a credit card…
After 26 years of holding a credit card with BOA, both personal and business, they closed my accounts with no notice. After spending hours on hold I was told that my personal account was closed due to "spending patterns" and my business account was closed because they closed my personal account. Seriously??? Never missed a payment, used all my cards regularly. To make it even worse, I went to redeem my outstanding rewards and was told that I forfeited the right to use my rewards when my account was closed. So much for decades of being a loyal customer.
Terrible Experience
No stars should be an option. Excessively long phone wait times. This bank actually stole 2,300 dollars from me one time years ago. I made a cash deposit and lost the receipt and/or the banker didn't give it to me. I know I was on camera making the deposit and they refused to even try to find it or listen to me. That was definitely a lesson learned. Save every receipt if you bank with this bank and make sure you have a paper trail of ALL your transactions.
i close my checking account with this…
i close my checking account with this bank my social sercurtiy check was sent to a close account on the first now bamk of america is holding my social sercurtiy check and wont return it to the ssa so i can get my check to feed my family i need answer because i should have my check
I have had several business cards with…
I have had several business cards with them with $40k limits on each of them and were never late. I retired in 2016 and carried a personal card for my wife and I which we used mostly for travel. I would always call ahead of travel trips alerting them of greater card use to assure they wouldn't freak out and block my card. I was advised calling was not necessary...but they blocked charges anyway. Once as I checked into a hotel so I'm standing in the lobby on hold for nearly an hour waiting to tell them this is not a fraud charge. And that was just the beginning of my issues. They recently blocked a $1.99 charge by Google as suspicious! WTF! They also blocked a $21.99 charge by FOX One so I can view the FIFA games on my phone. What the hell is suspicious about that??? On my current Seattle vacation July 2026, I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes on hold trying to reach the fraud department then got disconnected and had to call again. Over the past 30 days I have gotten 5 fraud alerts and each one requires a call and a long wait. Screw that! I just opened a Capital One Venture card and after I pay my balance on Bank of America, I'm going to return my cards and NEVER do business with them in any way in the future.
Also I tried to open an account with Merrill Lynch. I live out of the county part of the year and asked how to access my account when I am out of the country. Guess what? They don't accept phone numbers other than the USA format and they don't send 2FA codes via email. So if I ever needed to exit a stock position while out of the country too bad! What a backwards way to run a bank. Wealthy clients don't just sit at home and a financial institution should adapt to serve their customers in all aspects of living. B of A should rewire their vision of 'service' but I'm not waiting for that to happen...I'm gone!
Dropped them after 30 plus years
Dropped them after 30 plus years. Awful customer service and they treat you like a number. No personal service whatsoever. You are just a nobody to them.!
Bank of America is the biggest joke…
Bank of America is the biggest joke I've ever seen they don't help a they say they do but they really don't care about the people 😭

It was awful experience went to an ATM to withdraw cash it went through but the cash never dispensed went inside the branch they said I had to call the number on the ATM machine so I did they telling me it will be 10 days before I can get my because they have to investigate they could look and see that I did not receive the money unacceptable I knew it was a reason I left them will be leaving ahainy
They steal your money!
O should be an option for these crooks! They stole my entire check for over $300 a few months ago. I wrote a check from my bank of america account to my capital one account. The money showed up in the capital one account the next day but still showed available in my bank of america account. They took the $300 out a few days later but didn't show it was a cashed check. Well, this morning they stole $300 showing its a cashed check. They've stolen over $600 from me now. I was waiting on a peacock fraud claim to go through before I shut the account down. I've been their customer since 2021 and this is how they thank me. DO NOT BANK WITH BANK OF AMERICA, THEY ARE CROOKS!
have been a Bank of America customer…
have been a Bank of America customer for 16 years, and I can honestly say this has been the most disappointing banking experience I’ve ever had.
This isn’t about one isolated incident. Over the years, I’ve repeatedly found that Bank of America is unwilling to help its customers. If you overdraw your account, they charge you fees. If you ask for assistance, they simply quote their policies instead of looking for a reasonable solution.
My most recent experience was the final straw. Despite being a loyal customer for 16 years with direct deposit, they refused to make any effort to help. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I felt dismissed instead of valued as a long-time customer.
Loyalty means nothing to this bank. They seem far more interested in collecting fees than building relationships with their customers.
After 16 years, I will be moving my banking elsewhere. I would not recommend Bank of America to anyone looking for a bank that values and supports its customers.
The operators are nice enough
The operators are nice enough, however if you have more than time decent size transactions in the same date that are similar you're gonna be sent to fraud line to release use of your account/card. It's ridiculous we're in a public place the response time is up to hours at some times. If you have something two dollars or ten and you report fraud you're gonna hate it. They are gonna loose u in the vortex.
