If I could put zero stars I would
If I could put zero stars I would. I can’t explain enough how incompetent this company is. What a joke. Don’t use them at all.
The bank that takes but can never do anything for you.
I have banked with this company for over 20 years. In the last 4 years it has done nothing for me in services and customer service. The first change i get i will move my money and invesments to another bank. They were sure quick to take my 10,000 to invest but i cant get a notarlized paper, a service that they say they give clients.
Terrible bank
Bank of America is one of the worse banks I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I have a pension that originates in Dubai. Bank of America just can not seem to get their head around the fact other countries exist. It takes 3 months for an international transfer to be credited. Then another 2 weeks to get it across to the U.K. Even US bank to US bank transfers get stuck in “pending” for 6 weeks. And even then it takes bank personnel to “push it through” before anything happens. This bank is truly awful.

Truly deserves 0 stars only marked one in order to make this comment. The worse customer service from Evelyn the supervisor. I’ve been banking with this bank since a teenager and was denied the ability to cash my check because it’s a paper check and not a direct deposit, all in my name the same name…then Evelyn had the audacity to tell me I could cash it at a store UNBELIEVABLE

I’ve submitted a formal complaint with federal bank regulators for delayed credits to my checking account. Although this process requires about 30 minutes time it is important that a bank follows regulations that protect a client’s interests - not their profits.
Very difficult to get help
Very difficult to get help. They send you around in a loop, trying to verify your account. The app disconnects you and you have to log in again. The representative I spoke with was wrong about some of my account information and put me on hold for a long time. Find a different bank.

I tried updating my mailing address online, but because I recently moved out to a different city, the system flagged it for security verification. I called customer service, and the agent (Praveen Paul) was super patient and helpful. He verified my identity quickly, uploaded my proof of residency while I was on the line, and confirmed the change within 4 minutes. Fantastic service from Paul. Kudos ✌️👍🤝🤝👏👏👏
Misleading Claims Bank of America
Hi,
I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding a recent promotional offer associated with my new Bank of America credit card, as well as the customer service I received when attempting to resolve this matter.
I applied for this credit card because the promotional offer prominently advertised 6% cash back, which was the primary reason I chose Bank of America over competing credit card providers. Based on that offer, I made qualifying purchases totaling more than $2,700, fully expecting to receive the advertised promotional cash back.
I was later informed that I was not eligible for the 6% cash back because I had not first changed my rewards category to 'Travel' before making my purchases. While I understand that this requirement may have been included somewhere in the terms and conditions, it was not clearly and explicitly stated in the promotional offer that encouraged me to apply for the card. The offer emphasized "6% cash back" in large, prominent red text, but the critical requirement to first select the 'Travel' category was not presented with the same level of visibility. Had this requirement been clearly disclosed in the offer itself, I would have selected the appropriate category before making any purchases.
I initially contacted customer service to seek assistance. After waiting on hold for approximately an hour, I was connected to someone who informed me that I had reached the wrong department. The call was then disconnected, and no one called me back despite the lengthy wait.
When I called again, I spent additional time navigating the automated system before finally reaching a representative. I politely explained my situation and requested a one-time courtesy adjustment because I had relied on the promotional offer when deciding to open the account and make these purchases. Unfortunately, I was told that nothing could be done retrospectively and that the responsibility was mine for not reading the fine print. I requested to speak with a supervisor, but I was again told that no exception could be made. While the representatives apologized, there was no attempt to acknowledge how the promotional material itself could reasonably have led to confusion or to offer any meaningful resolution.
As a new customer, this experience has been extremely disappointing. I chose Bank of America in good faith because of the advertised promotion, made over $2,700 in purchases, and then learned that I would not receive the advertised benefit due to a requirement that was not clearly highlighted in the offer that influenced my decision.
I respectfully ask that Bank of America review my account and consider providing the promotional 6% cash back, or an equivalent goodwill statement credit, as a one-time courtesy. I believe this would be a fair resolution given the circumstances and would demonstrate Bank of America's commitment to transparent marketing and customer satisfaction.
I value fairness and honesty in business relationships, and I sincerely hope Bank of America will reconsider my request. I appreciate your time and look forward to your response.
Update: Bank of America 'client care' called me back regarding this and told me they would be denying my request as there was no bank error. If you want a shitty bank to work with that only wants your money and wants nothing to do about your needs as a customer, then go with Bank of America. I will be closing my account here.
Bank of America is the WORST BANK EVER!
Bank of America is the WORST BANK!! Horrible business practices, unnecessary fees, and overall greed. I will NEVER do any of my business with them again. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like this!

I went to the Apollo Beach branch for a notary public and had the privilege of meeting Tara Oree who was very professional and friendly. She also explained the advantage of having the BOFA credit card to build up rewards instead of just my debit which I rely on solely for majority of my purchases. It was a pleasure dealing with such a warm and friendly representative of your company

Opened a business account here separate from my personal accounts at another bank. Trying to launch a new business and this bank has been nothing short of a nightmare. While inventory is waiting to be shipped they help a check for 10 days, TEN DAYS!! Then after it cleared we wired two transfers to pay invoices. Money left account, paid for one day delivery and 4 days later the vendors have no money. THE ABSOLUTE WORST Business I've ever dealt with!!! Pound sand!!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡leaving as soon as they open today
poor customer service
poor customer service, and difficulty getting in contact with B of A. I set up a new bank account and working under the direction of one their employees, i downloaded the app on my phone. however, in doing so, my login information was compromised, and i was unable to sign in and pay the balance on my credit card. I tried to get in contact with B of A with their credit card phone number but was not able to do so, consequently my balance was not paid on time. B of A refuses to take any responsibility for this and penalized me by a penalty charge. in reading the other B of A reviews, their poor service is not uncommon.
Kick you when you’re down kinda bank
No incentives while funneling money in your account, but if you fall on hard times with a health crisis they’ll steal your last penny as a maintenance fee, worst bank in the USA and ironically named Bank of America. Capital One is a better option when finances are challenged
Bank of Americe is not a good bank to do business with.
This bank is nuts! I tried to get a morgage through them a few years back and the process was so convoluted I gave up and went to Rocket. Rocket was smooth and done quickly. Recently I wanted to open a HELOC with BoA. Once again the process was convoluted, unplesant, unfriendly people, etc. who treated my like I was trying to steal from them. For example I sent them the volumes of documents they wanted. Pay stubs, Soc Sec Statement, Pension Statements, Tax Returns, etc. Then I get a call from them saying I opened a Credit Card account that they didn't know about. I did with Citi to get their $250 cash back if I spent $1,000 on it within 30 days. My Country Club bill is over $1,000 so I used it, got the $250 and forgot about it. The guy on the phone was, in a word nasty to so told him to cancel the application. BTW I run obver $100,000 through BoA checking, have a savings account with them and my credit rating is over 800. That will all go away and I am going to move to a smart bank that can recognize a good customer.
Avoid BOA if Possible
I've been a member with Bank of America for 35 years! Their website is terrible! Especially for accessing your account. Continually there's errors, continually you have to reset passwords, continually to go over and over again entering pertinent information that they should have on hand. Every single time I try to log into this account I have to call customer service and have them reset everything because their website doesn't run correctly! I'll be so glad when I don't have to deal with BOA ever again!

Spent 38 minutes on hold today so my account could be fully activated. I was told via their website they needed to verify suspicious activity on my account. Using the language suspicious activity of course made me call. That was a lie. There was no suspicious activity. The rep said oh they are talking about fraud. So then all the rep did was send me a 6 digit code that I verified and she fully opened it And unbelieveable waste of my time.
Denied access to MY MONEY after building hospital in 100+ degree heat for 12 hours.
It just comes down to not being good human beings at this company. The useless suits running the company, the useless office workers contributing nothing to society. I build hospitals for 12 hours a day in 100+ degree heat, and this company REFUSED to let me use MY card, remove MY cash from MY account, get food/water/ or gas, when I needed it most, at the worst point of my life. I was refused access to MY funds/account/card/cash. I build hospitals for the world, you withhold MY money from me so that I can't even take care of my body after a long day working outside. Every single useless, soft rodent running around any of your offices should be ashamed of the human beings you each choose to be. Have some honor and contribute something positive to the world. This company is in control of how many trillions. Disgusting. You are what's wrong with this world, do not confuse yourself.
The worst
The worst. I was robbed in Colombia. They initially gave a credit back, after a month when I was in the jungle staying in a nice hotel my account was overdrawn because they took the credit back. I couldn’t pay for hotel and went to jail. Every day I had to deal with rude customer service on their FB page. False promises. Never got my money back.
I’ve had nothing but trouble with this back. I have overdraft protection yet they approving purchases and end up with negative balance. Can’t stand this bank!
