Customer service? What's that?
Ordered in stock french doors which arrived today. They haven't been fitted yet so still hoping the quality is better than their customer service. The delivery driver tramped all over my flower beds and was surly and rude. He actually said, 'there's a reason we're the cheapest manufacturer in the country'. When I asked a question on the chat the response was also arrogant and rude and he cut me off without resolving the issue.
If there was a zero rating I would give…
If there was a zero rating I would give it. We ordered a side garage door beginning of June to match our existing tongue and groove garage from AWM and received something completely different. I immediately contacted them for a refund but since then we have had nothing but the most shocking customer service. Not only was the person at their call centre making assumptions and accused us that the only reason we wanted to return the door was because we had ordered the wrong size when this was not the case, I wouldn’t have even minded if they had found us a solution but the lack of service is beyond words. Where do they train these people??! We were returning the door because the description looks nothing like what we ordered. Nowhere on their site does it state the pictures were illustration only and further more I wouldn’t mind if the groves in the panel were anyway similar but the door looks so different! I don’t know how they can get away with this. Avoid this sham of a company because it’s clear their customers do not matter to them!!
Great doors and windows
Quick delivery, and the quality of the doors and windows was spot on.
Poor Design Detail and Disappointing Customer Service
I purchased a window and bifold doors for my garden room being built. Ordering process was smooth and delivery was relatively quick. Unfortunately I've been put off by the situation with the door handles. When ordering you select door handle color so I chose black to match the exterior. The interior frame is white and honestly would expect the door handles to match as standard (black outside, white inside). They sent black handles for both after the doors were originally delivered and I reached out to customer services assuming it was a mistake and can I return the interior black handle for white where they informed me that I would need to purchase a separate interior handle in white if I want it to match. It may seem small but when you're spending £1500 on doors you would expect this to be a standard inclusion or at least a choice. Now I am very annoyed and stuck with a door handle that looks quite stupid from the internal view. The doors seem good quality, the seam/sill on the window is so wide that the glass is too small for my liking but I can get over that. Overall I wouldn't recommend purchasing from a company that isn't considerate of these details. The interaction has left me quite disappointed.
Proceed with extreme caution
I would strongly advise anyone considering AWM Windows and Doors to proceed with extreme caution.
Our experience was one of the worst I have had with any supplier.
We purchased a patio door set which arrived with a glass pane that shattered immediately after delivery, without being touched, which became the subject of dispute. When this was raised, instead of resolving the issue professionally, the company disputed the fault and repeatedly attempted to shift blame onto us. During this process, we were told we were “talking nonsense” and our experience was ignored multiple times.
As the matter could not be resolved directly, I was forced to pursue a chargeback through my bank, which was ultimately decided in our favour. Even after this decision, AWM continued to reassert blame and dispute responsibility, despite the financial and formal dispute resolution already being made.
There were also concerns regarding the accuracy of names/signatures on delivery documentation. Delivery records contained a name and signature which did not belong to anyone at our property, raising further concerns about transparency.
Following the dispute resolution, collection of the goods was unnecessarily difficult. We were given very limited flexibility, poor communication, and informed at short notice that they could not provide a two-person collection team, forcing us to rearrange our schedules and provide assistance at our inconvenience.
We made it explicitly clear that we would not handle the broken glass due to an existing shoulder injury and for personal safety reasons.
During collection, the driver removed all items from our property. However, unbeknownst to us, the driver loaded the door set and one intact pane but abandoned the disputed broken pane several doors away from our property, leaning against a neighbour’s fence and out of our view.
This created an obvious public safety hazard and remained there for over a week until I discovered it by chance.
When we contacted AWM, instead of rectifying the issue, responses became scarce, hostile and unprofessional. AWM expected me to resume responsibility for the broken pane and move it to a “safe place” until they could arrange another collection. When I politely declined due to my shoulder injury and the risk of further harm, I was told I had “refused to” cooperate.
Written correspondence then described me as “dismissive” and “obstructive” and included further accusations such as “from the point where you broke the glass in your possession”, despite us having cooperated throughout and maintained communication, often having to chase them for responses.
The matter became serious enough to be formally reported to Vale of White Horse District Council as potential fly-tipping. An Environmental Enforcement Officer confirmed in writing that responsibility for the abandoned pane rested with AWM and contacted them directly. Only after council intervention did AWM finally return to remove the glass.
In our experience, the company did not respond well when we exercised our consumer rights and pursued the appropriate formal routes to resolve both the chargeback and the abandoned pane.
At no point should a customer have to involve their bank, local council, police, Citizens Advice and Trading Standards simply to resolve a disputed product and abandoned hazardous item.
In total, this matter took almost 12 weeks to fully resolve, from the original delivery date of 25th March 2026 to the final pane being removed on 16th June 2026.
This review is based entirely on documented emails, photographs, collection records and official council correspondence.
Beware of delivery problems
We received delivery of our sliding doors this morning. However, it was supposed to be a kerbside delivery but the driver had no on board equipment ie a tail lift or a manual pump to enable kerbside delivery.
My husband aged 74 and the driver aged 67 had to manually retrieve the doors from the transit.
This is not good enough!

Run by amuters
Absolute shambles of a company from start to finish ordered a front door so they sent a door frame then the manager- comedian said the panel would follow in couple of days no panel arrived 5 days later after 3 -4 phone calls then when took wrapping of there was no letter plate so had to be sent back then eventually after about 3 weeks it arrived this company is run by complete amuters and after all that the quality is shocking don't go near I would say
What a bunch of clowns!!!
I don't recommend the door
I don't recommend the door. There are no screws in the hinges. After closing, it won't open. If I manage to open it, it won't close. The lock keeps getting stuck. This pseudo-company can't help itself. Zero contact. A failure. Scammers!
Stay clear of you don't want a headache
I could have given this company a better review but unfortunately I've had nothing but trouble from the first contact. Started with having to change my design requests time after time, which I subsequently find I didn't need to. But the worst part is trying to deal with them over a faulty hinge. The hinge broke immediately I tried to adjust it. Three hinges, with adjustment screws, two loosen and one is in so tight it breaks leaving part of screw in the hinge. Their lack of urgency is astonishing, and born out by their respons time to emails, then claiming your emails went into junk! Highly improbable, when all emails sent prior to the "I have a problem email" get through ok. Now it appears that the only person in the company who can deal with the issue of a broken hinge is on holiday. However he wasn't on holiday when I first emailed 18 days ago. The hinge cost about £30, so not a great cost to keep the customer happy! But as the door hinge is broken the door is now not fitting at all so rubbing everytime is opened and shut so it could end up being a new door claim rather just a poxy hinge. A company recommended to me will certainly not get a recommendation from me. Stay clear of this company if you don't want a headache
Delivery service poor
Delivery lead time pretty fast, but they can’t guarantee an AM delivery, I have paid 90£ for the delivery just to pay another 90£ because I was at work and had to fail the delivery, customer service not very polite over the phone and overall not happy. They were asking if there is a safe place to drop a massive set of french doors with side panels that costs over 1000£, without taking a signature and checking for any damage, just be aware, you’ll have to be at home on the delivery day, otherwise you’ll have to pay to re-deliver.
Poor quality and poor service.
Poor quality and poor service.
Compared to other doors and windows from other companies for previous projects, this one is really bad. Like others have said, bottom bolt untidy and generally poor quality.
As for customer service... poor! An online chat question went unanswered, as did an email to their enquiries address. Another person commented about a cocky response, we experienced that too. That said, Gemma was efficient and helpful.

AVOID!!!
AVOID absolute cowboys!! - purchased composite decking from this company and 2 years on it looks absolutely shocking. Planks have split and cracked and its now not safe to use. Despite offering a 10 year warranty they will make up any excuse to not actually provide this. Currently now passed the case to trading standards and a dispute with my credit card provider. Save your self the hassle and money and buy elsewhere.
Easy to deal with and always helpful.

Tracking service extremely helpful.
Window arrived and glass panel is…
Window arrived and glass panel is cracked. Rang them and the bloke on the phone literally couldn’t give a **** said it’s curb side delivery so the delivery driver shouldn’t of even come into my home so that’s another issue why did he come in and drop it off then? I then finally got him to listen and allow me to send photos of the glass panel where the driver left them, before they had been unwrapped and fitted etc to show it was cracked and no reply at all compete radio silence over email. Would not recommend nearly £600 window and they basically deliver what they want in whatever condition and as long as it’s “delivered” that’s it. Do not buy off them, go to a local company to you who care about their customers a bit more. This is my second order off them and I won’t order again off them as I’ve had issues with my first order also with poor quality hardware. Avoid
Dissapointed
On the plus side production and delivery was quick and they look good. But on the down side there was insufficient clearance for the doors without modification to the strike plate(nothing to do with toeing and heeling). The beading was extremely tight but worst of all there are smears on the inside of the units. I therefore think 3 stars is fair and I would not recommend.
Awful customer service
Awful customer service
I called on Monday 11th of August to ask a few questions and delivery dates came up during the conversation. I was told delivery is every 4 weeks but the next delivery in my area was in two weeks so I trustingly placed my order. Having called up today (14th) as the confirmation email went to my junk inbox, I’ve now been told the delivery won’t be for four weeks. I only placed the order as it was delivery within a manageable time scale for my project.
However more frustratingly I have now been told over the phone and in an email by Gemma that there is no way she told me the delivery was in two weeks.
Both my builder and my husband were in the kitchen when I was on the phone, checking the details of the door. Both heard her say that delivery would be on the 28th of August.
Yet the customer service is to tell me I am wrong full stop. No possible way they made a mistake and no offer to help rectify the mistake THEY made.
I would have just ordered it from somewhere else for a quicker delivery and saved myself this hassle had I been given correct information.
Avoid
This company fitted windows at my house, I say fitted but it turns out huge gaps where left around the front of the house, which the fitters covered up with UPVC strips.
No response at all from repeated messages and calls to the office, had to pay out more to get mess they left sorted.
Avoid.
Professional friendly service throughout
Great service throughout. My wife and I visited the factory to check out the quality of patio doors and get some advice before buying. A sales women showed us around and took time to listen to what we wanted, fully explaining the products that were available. I ordered online and got a delivery date at the same time. I would definitely recommend paying for delivery as this allowed for live tracking on the day, and a friendly delivery guy with a specific van for the job. I also ordered a fixing kit which was worth the cost. My son and I have now fitted the sliding patio doors and they look and operate great, with no problems. A professional friendly service throughout with quality products at a competitive price.
