Package arrived super fast - pleasantly surprised

I was skeptical ordering from here because it only has three stars. But, I was pleasantly surprised and very happy that I ordered from them. I purchased four UVB bulbs and two basking lights on 29 March. They arrived today (1 Apr). No hassle, no fuss. Package came via PostNL. Regular communication emails about my order (confirmation, packing, shipping, then messages from PostNL, etc.). People who complained mostly wrote about items not arriving. Sometimes shops run out of stock and have to wait for suppliers. Anyway, I was perfectly happy and will order again.

I was thrilled to find palm nuts for my parrots on Avonturia, as they've been out of stock almost everywhere. Being in Bulgaria, I double-checked that Avonturia could ship frozen goods internationally, as I’d seen restrictions on this in the past. Confident in my order, I added toys and other supplies to make the shipping cost worthwhile.

Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill. Shortly after placing the order, I received an email saying my payment hadn’t gone through. I reached out for clarification but got no response for two days. Finally, I received a brief reply saying everything was fine and that my order was processing. A few days later, I got a notification that the order had shipped—only to receive a refund for the palm nuts the same evening. When I asked why, they informed me, with no prior warning, that they don’t ship frozen items internationally.

I’m extremely disappointed. Not only did I waste time and effort communicating with them, but I also ended up paying to ship toys from the Netherlands—items I could have easily sourced locally. Avonturia’s lack of transparency and poor communication left me feeling misled and frustrated. This experience was enough for me to decide: I won’t be ordering from Avonturia again.

I love Avonturia!

I love Avonturia! Absolutely, without a doubt, the best pet store I've found in the Netherlands. I order all of my bird products here. Customer service is always super kind, responsive and helpful. Any issues with products or orders are resolved quickly and satisfactory. I haven't been able to visit the store in-person yet, but next time I'm in Den Haag it's definitely on my to-do list, and I've heard great things.

They care about your pet!

They care about your pet!
The ordered product was not in stock, contrary to what said in the onlineshop. So the delivery was postponed for one week. Lucikly the client service is really frinedly and helpfull and send a free-temporary package to cover the delayed period. As the title: they really care about your pet!

Very long delivery time

Very long delivery time, dry food for guinea pig arrived all crumbled, 1/3 of the food was powder

Again a fast and efficient order

Again a fast and efficient order! I contacted Avonturiashop regarding a broken lamp within warranty period and after some explanation an extra lamp was sent. Fast response and effective help!
