Vann was just as it was advertised and the seller was outstanding. He was willing to work with me based on some unorthodox concerns. I had knee surgery so I was unable to go myself to pick up the van, but I had my Mechanic go down, view it and test it out and everything worked out great. Andrew was so willing to do things my way and very accommodating. This is my second experience using private seller, and I would certainly would never have a problem using it again or recommending it to someone else.

It was nice to have a 3rd party to initiate and confirm payment before I handed the keys over to the buyer. Buyer did have some technical difficulties submitting payment but was able to finally get it to work. The rest of the process was pretty smooth and agents were responsive when calling to see if we could get the sale processed immediately. Overall good experience and appreciate having a trusted entity to facilitate selling my vehicle.

Full of scammers and bots. This is not the Autotrader of old.

Autotrader.com is a big mess of everything. They do not remember your password, difficult to simply establish an account. After that, setting up an ad with photos and descriptions is next to impossible and come back later to find everything deleted, no record of your listing, then, once you DO manage to get your ad done, you need to provide copies of everything from your birth certificate o a blood sample. Dont waste your time! Sell faster and easier on Facebook or simply a sign. What a joke! Not too mention fees!

This was the worst experience with an online commerce platform I have ever had in my life. I ended up selling my vehicle with a free Facebook Marketplace ad. All inquiries and interactions were with legitimate people interested in my vehicle. Autotrader on the other hand was 100% scammers and fraudsters. Not a single legitimate human interested in the vehicle. This platform is pure garbage. Save your money. Don't waste your time. I will never again.

As a private seller just don't bother.
Had an Aygo to sell. Autotrader fishes you in with a good "valuation" but that's what dealerships are selling for, not the likes of you or I. You wont ever get near that much because dealers offer limited warranties. Private is sold as seen and people fear a lemon.
Spent 80quid for the unlimited advert time and even after 3 bloody months and being 500 under the projected value I only got 3 calls and 2 emails from time wasters.

It’s a little intimidating buying a car out of state, but autotrader makes it secure and has everything thought out. They had answers on how to pay for it, how to deal with the title and taxes, and had a shipper ready for me.

This was the best car-selling experience I have ever had online! Besides the regular "scammers" that want you to contact them outside the platform. It was great to be able to sell my car in a timely manner, faster than I thought it would!

Ad listing did not go live. No response in request to refund ad promotion fee. Completed the process with creating ad, uploading pictures and opting to pay for ad promotion of $50.00. At very last step to enable ad to go live "Buyer and seller safety is AutoTrader's highest priority. Your listing is still being reviewed to make sure it fulfills our trust criteria. In exceptional cases, this can take up to 24 hours" Initially, waited 24 hours and ad did not go live. No response from customer service to enable ad. After two days with no response, I was disappointed credit card was charged, ad was not live and the "paid" boost was counting down. At this point requested a full refund of the paid ad boost, since ad was not live but we have now counted down and almost at zero days with ad never going live. It took a total of 6 weeks before customer service reached out and they did eventually refund the paid service that was never in use.

The process was very simple. Easy to navigate.

I repeat do not waste your money on this scam site. I posted a vehicle for sale in June. 100 percent of the responses to my ad were fraud and they only caught three. They do nothing to verify that buyers are real even though it's apparent there fake. What a waste of money. I called customer service and they said they are working on that. Guaranteed that is a flat out lie. Once they get your money they don't care.

The checklist was helpful and organized. I felt confident in the sale process and completing the sale. My only issue was the app and messaging system not loading properly on Friday for 3-4 hours.

I was surprised how many inquiries I received that felt off, and violated the platform's policies. With patience, the right buyer came along. Finalizing the purchase wasn't as straightforward as it sounded, and the customer support team was very helpful in sorting through and guiding both the buyer and myself. It sure was easier than financial transactions at a dealership, plus I appreciate the peace of mind as a seller the PSE offers.
