Sold within hours

Got three offers within hours of advertising. However I think one was fraudulent because he wanted me to pay up front from a very expensive car check company which was a bit suspect. Sold it to a very reputable trader instead who paid and picked it up the same day.

So many time wasters unfortunately

So many time wasters and people trying to scam using auto trader unfortunately. Auto trader advice is really good and they have lots of articles on how not to get scammed. I found the autotrader valuation is a bit high meaning lots of calls to negotiate price. I ended up selling to a really nice guy, after a quick transaction. Ultimately the car sold within my ad time frame for a price I was happy with.

Buyer be aware using Autotrader

Auto Trader,
Terms of Service: Their user agreements explicitly state they do not inspect, vouch for, or guarantee the identity, legitimacy, or vehicle descriptions provided by external dealers or private sellers.
We just lost £1500 on a fraudulent autotrader ad ( Your on your own) " The trader" is a rundown paper shop in Wakefield. You have more rights on Ebay,

Beware of scammers

Excellent platform to sell privately if you pitch the price realistically. However, beware of scammers asking for a vehicle history check from a fake website.
