Steer way clear of this company

This company lacks integrity. Stay way clear of them.

We went through Alaska Air Car Rentals and the reservations ended up going through ACO which I guess contracts out with Ausby Car Rentals.
The car was crap that we received - 2015 Chevy Malibu with 166,000+ miles on it, several stains on the interior, and hail damage on the outside. The driver's seat belt broke the first night and I had to duct tape it for the rest of the trip. The car was definitely not what we reserved.

I was able to reach out to someone who said he was the manager, I mentioned their 1.2 out of 5 rating on Google. He said he didn't care.

They still have not returned the $150 security deposit, even after the 15 working days.

Now, I cannot reach them this week. Their phones no longer work. My guess is that they have now blocked my number.

I love how you have to ask..."What went…

I love how you have to ask..."What went wrong THIS TIME..."

You were not available at the time that I requested my vehicle. Had to sit in the airport for four hours.

Like MANY others in your reviews,
you seem to have a litany of negative reviews regarding customer service. I was told that it would be weeks for me to get my security deposit back...it's been two weeks and this craptastic company said it may be ANOTHER two weeks to process my refund....
I would STRONGLY recommend that you steer clear of this company when renting a vehicle at DFW.....
I am calling the BBB right after this post...
Stick to the bigger, trustworthy rental companies....

Chris

BTW....just tried to leave a review and, apparently, that function has been disabled from their end...

Be warned!

This company has no integrity in the way they do business. They operate under false pretenses by stipulating things on their rental contract that they knowingly will not fulfill. It also appears they are affiliated with other companies or operate under other names because I rented the vehicle through ride-now-rentacar, charges for the rental reflected on my credit card as ride-now-rentacar, however, the rental contract reflects Ausby Car rental. I picked up the rental on 12/6/21 at the ******, ***** location and returned it on 12/7 before 7pm when it was due back. On the day of pick up, I was charged $55 for the rental and $150 security deposit. Per the contract, the security deposit would be refunded within 5-15 working days. I satisfied my end of the bargain, didn't run any toll, no traffic violation, and returned the vehicle with a full gas tank. I contacted the company on 12/29 (16 days from the day the vehicle was returned) to request a refund of the security deposit and since been given the run-around. I left voice messages for their accounting department and sent emails but got no response. THIS COMPANY SHOULD NO LONGER BE OPERATING BECAUSE IT BLATANTLY FALSIFIES INFORMATION ON THE CONTRACT THAT IT DOES NOT FULFILL!

Here’s the description of the security deposit. : ** Automated REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT , PRE-PAID TOLLS FUEL , for fuel, tolls, traffic violations, Fines, Express Lanes, Red Light violations, etc. Unused Portion is normally REFUNDED within 5 to 15 working days AFTER the vehicle is checked In**

WARNING - SCAM!

WARNING! SCAM! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR DEPOSIT!!!

If I could rate lower than 1 star, I would. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life.... For starters, I found this company through Kayak's website. It listed it as Rentacar of Texas, and the price was cheaper than anybody else's so I gave it a shot. I should have known when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is....

I proceeded with pre-paying for my rental car about a month before our trip. A few week's later, they took a $150 deposit. Okay, so far so good pretty normal stuff. When we arrived at the DFW airport, I never received a text or phone call about pickup. I finally had to call the company directly and after being transferred multiple times, we finally were able to get a text from the driver that he was on his way. He showed up in an older SUV with no kind of markings whatsoever to indicate that he was with the Rental car company.

It was at this point, that I found out the company was actually called Ausby Car Rentals and not Rentacar of Texas. I don't know if these are the same company or what the deal is.... Mind you this is my first time ever in the Dallas area, so I was very skeptical, but proceeded since I had no other option really. We get in the car with the guy, and he tells us that we are going to a hotel. Turns out they don't even have an office near the airport, but the business is run out of the hotel, which was really sketchy to me. We get to the hotel, and our rental car is there and it looked to be okay. We go inside and fill out the paperwork, everything seems OK still.

We returned the vehicle back to the hotel on June 28th. No damage, half tank of gas, everything was alright. I expected to have my deposit back in a week or so. The 4th of July holiday was the next week so I was patient to allow for possible delays. Finally after another week of waiting with no refund or emails, I call the company. This is where things get really confusing. The phone number sometimes will ring RentaCar of Texas, but other times Ausby Car Rental.

They will give you the total runaround to try and get you off the phone. Transferring you to the "Accounting department" never gets a real person on the end. They send you to a voicemail and noone will ever call you back. I called this company probably 10 times over the span of a couple weeks, and kept getting excuse after excuse of why I hadn't received my deposit back. "The holidays delayed things" "They are waiting on the tolls to come back from the state" "Their systems were down" etc.......

Not only did I not get the deposit back, but I never even got the confirmation email they supposedly sent multiple times showing that I would receive it back. I spoke with the guy last thursday and he said I would get the email confirmation by close of business Friday. I waited all weekend, and still no email or deposit showing back. I call again on Monday and he says for sure I will see it by the end of the day, still nothing. I call back today, and he places me on hold for 15 minutes, then transfers me to the non-existent accounting department again.

I finally decided enough is enough, and I broke down and called my credit card company to dispute the transaction.

PLEASE do not do business with Ausby Car Rental or RentaCar of Texas, they are running a scam!! They will steal your deposit. It is not worth saving the few extra dollars. I really hope enough of these reviews will get them shut down!!!!!

Frauds

BEWARE Ausby Car Rental. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. I rented a car with Ausby because they had the lowest price by far for a car. I found out why afterwards. Unfortunately, I didn't see the reviews until after they had taken the money from my account. Review after review that said they repeatedly do not return the incidental/security deposit. The money for the car plus $200 came out of my account immediately despite booking a month in advance. I only saw the reviews the day before I picked up the car. That made me very nervous. I hoped for the best considering there would be no refund if I cancelled.
My fears came true now that it has been three weeks and there is no sign of the $200 back in my account when they said 10-15 days. I tried calling. No luck. No one answers. I emailed and got one response saying they had "approved the refund". Another email came through saying the same thing. Two weeks later and my "approved refund" is nowhere to be seen and they refuse to respond any further!
This appears to be repeated behavior according to the reviews and indicates they are fraudulent. They can offer very cheap offers because they know they will make it up by keeping the deposit and people will end up paying more than they would anywhere else. I have ended up having to dispute the charge with my bank.
