Audi UK - Shameful

🚨 **AUDI S3 2017 OWNERS — PLEASE READ!**

Our 2017 Audi S3, with only **67,000 miles**, has developed a serious gearbox fault.

4 bolts holding the auxiliary hydraulic pump inside the gearbox have become loose.

This is a known manufacturing issue which Audi has acknowledged.

The car has always been serviced and maintained by Audi dealers and had no previous gearbox problems.

Audi’s solution? A repair bill of **£10,000**. 💷

After a month of emails between Audi UK and the dealers, Audi UK refused to take responsibility and washed their hands of the issue.

Despite contacting the manufacturer and giving Audi every opportunity to resolve this, we have essentially been told:

** Customers problem, not ours **

This is completely unacceptable.

If Audi knows there is a recurring issue affecting these vehicles, why should the customer be left with a £10,000 bill?

⚠️ **If you own an Audi S3 manufactured in 2017, please get your gearbox checked and ask Audi whether your vehicle is affected by any known transmission issues.**

We trusted Audi. This is how they have chosen to treat us.

**£10,000 for a car that has been properly maintained. Shameful.**

I'll be sticking with BMW going forward.

Terrible

Bought a Q5 from Audi Stirling. Initially all was good, sales team were very attentive etc. 3 months after purchasing the car I had an issue with excessive oil consumption. I Iive about 90 minutes away from Stirling so I emailed the dealership. No response from the sales department or the service department, not even an acknowledgment. It seems that once they have your money, they wash their hands of you as a customer. I won’t be buying another Audi.

Audi 2024 A1 keeps deleting stored…

My Audi 2024 A1 keeps deleting stored radio stations on start up, sometimes within an hour or 1 day or 2-3 days. This has gone on for over a year since reporting. Audi response is: if no fault codes show they cant fix it.you dont need a fault code as you can see it with your own eyes. Plenty of Audi forums reporting same fault on line snd report's suggest it will not show in the fault codes readers. Battrey went flat and that was blamed, Battery checked and told it was failing and a new one is £488.00. Not covered as the car has only done to few miles (3000) miles. It had 2600 already when purchased. Still they wont accept warranty. I regret ever buying this our first Audi.Customer Service here in Liverpool has been the worst you could ever experience.booked in again with a six week wait for checking but I am sure I'm wasting my time again. Anyone on here experienced same Audi Fault?

Lookers Audi Basingstoke

I cannot praise the team at Lookers Audi Basingstoke enough for their outstanding service and genuine compassion.
My wife is currently undergoing chemotherapy and has been quite poorly, and the team went well above and beyond to make things completely stress-free for us. Our warranty claim was fully upheld, and we were kept thoroughly informed and updated at every stage of the process.
A special thank you to Shannon for coordinating everything so smoothly, to Tom Alan for his fantastic support throughout, and to Don for his incredible kindness in personally dropping the car back off at our home. That level of thoughtfulness meant an enormous amount to our family during a difficult time.
Shannon, Don, and Tom are an absolute credit and a true asset to Lookers Audi. First-class customer care from start to finish — 5 stars without hesitation.

Avoid Harwoods Southampton - Use Poole or Salisbury instead.

To be clear, I love Audi cars and once upon a time would describe myself as a bit of a fanatic, but the overall experience I have had with Audi Harwoods Southampton has seen me ditch the brand all together and move over to Lotus.

I'll put the rudeness, lies and chaos that I've experienced at Harwoods Southampton Audi aside and try to be as objective as possible and describe JUST ONE of the many poor experiences I've had there...

I bought a brand new A6 Avant from this dealership circa £50K. I was told before the 'pomp and ceremony' of the handover of my new car we should get the 'boring stuff' (the paperwork) out of the way first). It seemed reasonable at the time until I realised what was about to happen.

We completed the paperwork and then I was taken to my new car. From 25 metres away I said to the salesman 'That car is damaged', and rightly enough it was. Not only was it damaged, but my brand new car had more miles than you'd ever expect a new car to have on it, and also it never had a factory option which I had paid to be fitted. (The latter is a long story in itself, an option which I never received and was eventually refunded).

I tried refusing delivery of the new car and said I'll have the keys to my old car back. I was told by the salesman that as the paperwork was already signed, I no longer owned the old car and the new car is now mine. It was close to closing time, I was 30 Miles from home and had no choice but to take it.

That was my first mistake.

Over the next couple of days I spoke with the salesman who arranged the repair of the damage and I was offered a service package as a good will gesture as compensation. I felt this was reasonable.

As I was on the phone to the salesman, I was pulling bits of protective film from the trim and dashboard of my new car, further evidence that my car hadn't been prepared by the dealership. I questioned if the Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) had in fact been carried out, I even offered several times to bring the car back to Harwoods to have another PDI performed as I didn't feel it was done properly before the car was handed over to me.

I was assured time and time again that the PDI was performed and I should continue to drive my car with confidence.

So I was pretty disgusted when.....

18 months later I took my car to a different dealership for it's first inspection. When I went to collect my car I was handed my invoice and 2 x round purple blocks.

When I asked what these were, the service guy explained, these are the transportation blocks which the Audi factory fit to the suspension for transportation from the factory to the dealership. These are suppose to be removed during the PDI before the car is handed over. The service guy explained that the handling and suspension of my car would certainly be affected and he was disgusted that Harwoods hadn't removed them.

This confirmed to me that no one had bother to PDI my car at Harwoods.

I've had the experience of Poole, Truro and Salisbury Audi during the ownership of several of my Audis, their customer service is faultless whilst Harwoods completely misses the mark.

If you are tempted to get a car from Harwoods, and for what ever reason you don't have the option to turnaround, jump into your car and head to one of the dealerships mentioned above, my first advice would be; not to sign any paperwork, handing over your existing car as part ex, or to receive your new car without inspecting it thoroughly first.

Unpleasant customer service

On the 11 August, 2026, the staff named Alexia Efthymiou at the workshop, was very to me when I called to enquire what time to pick up my car and also when my son went to the workshop to pick up the car. She has not professional business decorum. She needs training on how to communicate better with customers. I have been a long term customer for 11 years and both my son and myself have never experienced such service. She does not represent the service we have enjoyed in the past. I would not like to deal with her in the future.

I also had similar very rude experience on the 21st August from Monica another workshop staff relating to the same issue that my car is having of an air bag light that keeps coming up on the dashboard. I had received an email to bring the car back for service on the same day 21st August 2026. When I asked to Monica to speak to the manager she put through to Alexia who was rude again to me.

The call from one of the manager at the workshop did not resolve the complaint that I had about the unpleasant experience I had from the 2 members of staff at the workshop. I would like it investigate and resolved and look forward to a written outcome.

Audi not what they used to be Q4 charging issue a real pain

Q4 Electron - second time the charging issue of not being able to charge to 100%. Off to France in few days and both local dealers could not sort out the fix until middle next week. They really don’t care. Dreadful and annoying esp as it’s second time in 12 months had this problem which is known issue. Plus the fact you can’t use the App to lock/open doors ! Unbelievable in an al electric modern car!

Audi A4 Avant 2.0 Diesel TDI

Audi A4 Avant 2.0 Diesel TDI, 3 years and 9 months old with 44,000 miles on the clock gearbox malfunction. Known fault Service Bulletin on production run of Gearbox. Full service history but only 3 out 5 with Audi.
Refused goodwill warranty, Audi Oxford took more than 7 weeks to repair vehicle it took 6 weeks and the Business manager to get the parts required ordered, Audi UK were aware from 2nd week but appear to be totally unable to provide sensible assistance or to speak to the correct person at the dealership to provide action. Poor quality product with the worst customer service ever.

Terrible company

Terrible company! My 2yr old Q4 has been in for the same noise issue 6 times and never fixed. They went from saying there was an issue, made the issue worse, then claimed there was no issue.
Got a call from the dealership after making an official complaint to Audi HQ, who said the only course of action was to get a second opinion even though it’s been in 6 times and the first 5 admitted there was an issue. Each time it went in they also wiped the MMI from the car. They want it to go back for another 6hrs to try and fix it!
As soon as as the money owed on it matches the resale value it’ll be gone. Audi charge premium prices for their vehicles but it is far from being a premium brand, my advice is never touch them. The reviews on here don’t lie

I own a 2 year old Audi Q3

I own a 2 year old Audi Q3
Ever since I have owned this car the satnav system has had an intermittent fault in that the planned route fails to show on the main map the infill lists drop off. What makes it worse is it also keeps sending me around in circles. You pay all this money and you should expect it to work. The official line was there is nothing wrong but unofficially it’s a known fault with the Q3.
The garage wanted to charge me to look at it.

I brought a Audi A5 plugin hybrid new…

I brought a Audi A5 plugin hybrid new in august 2025 . From Bristol Audi .
From the start my problem s started . On handover day they had chipped the rear bunker so could not have the car as it had to go off to the paint shop and be repaired they could not get the digital key to work due to software problems eventually they did. I paid for the bodywork to be treated with auto glym yeah on the eventual handover there was still glue and paste on the roof where protection have been glued on to protect the roof in transit so how could the protection have been applied. No aftercare products so I rang Autoglym to claim on the life time guarantee and they had no knowledge of me or my car .
Dash display would go black for two seconds while driving then come back on . Adaptive cruise control would stop working and the only way I could get it working again to open all the doors and boots and then close them then it would work. This was all due to software problems and the car went in over the year as several times for software updates but nothing repaired the car The final straw was the alarm went off one day and I couldn’t turn it off I couldn’t get into the car I had to call out Audi assist who managed to get into the car and he told me it was software problems and not to charge it and to take it back to Bristol Audi for repair They had the car for eight weeks and did nothing to repair it I went down the line of the consumer protection act 2015 and got most of my money back I went across the road and brought a brand-new Mercedes CLA 200 electric this car is fantastic and I’ve had no problems everything works first time

Rip off company and it's service centres

Taken in for airbag recall. Also wanted aircon sorted as not getting hot. Told a part had been ordered for that and would we want a service on the aircon. Well, as it was getting fixed we said yes.

Stupid mistake, won't trust an Audi service centre again.

They did the airbag and aircon service then told us they couldn't get the aircon matrix, so they have serviced aircon that doesn't work, and still charged us a fortune for the privilege.

Way to go Harold Wood Audi. That's how to rip off a customer. Audi should be so proud of you.

Norwich Audi

Purchased Audi RS etron GT from Norwich showroom. Within 6 months the battery charging system failed . I made upto 3 visits to the showroom to be told
Each time that there was nothing wrong with the charging plug in sockets until they agreed to sort the problem out. Car was in for a week and major replacement work was carried out. I received no confirmation in writing about the defect despite asking for it- it was all hush-hush. Also got Audi front and rear dash cam installed by the dealer . After. A year loopp frontbfaso came stickers came off and the dash cam kept falling off. This wasn’t sorted during car servicing . I had to purchase sticky bits on line and from Halfords with worked for a short time .

I am extremely disappointed with the…

I am extremely disappointed with the way my recent experience has been handled.
Having owned three Audi vehicles, I have been a loyal Audi customer for many years. Unfortunately, my experience with Bedford Audi dealership has been extremely poor, and I have now reached the point where I no longer wish to purchase or deal with Audi.
The online booking system requires input of information which nobody at Bedford Audi seems to pay attention to! There was a data breach with my information, and Chloe (customer advisor) was calling and texting somebody else, they stated I glued my phone mount onto my windscreen and failed the MOT. This was absolutely not the case there was some residue from the sucker that had melted which I removed easily. Nobody discussed anything with me until the manager came out and gave me a reduction in my bill. The irony is they email you to tell you they are dedicated to customer care and they do not speak to you or listen to you. Oh and I did not receive my complimentary clean which the online booking system asked me if I wanted!! Absolute carnage from start to finish.

Questionable advertising tactics - be careful

As a long standing Audi customer it has been a tough call leaving this review. Having migrated to an electric vehicle a huge feature I was after was simple charging solution when away from home. Still remains an advertised feature on Audi UK webpages and just been advised after months of trying to resolve the charging matters this feature isn’t available in the UK. The mind boggles how it remains as an advertised feature and will be forced to seek legal consumer advice on this matter. Feel utterly betrayed.

AVOID Audi Harold Wood

Bought a car here under the "Audi Approved Used" scheme. An inspection at another Audi centre found £2,194.56 of outstanding work: blocked panoramic roof drains leaking water into the cabin, a faulty rear child lock, an all-wheel-drive coupling service overdue since December 2023, an overdue oil and inspection service, and a rodent-chewed exhaust temperature sensor.

Harold Wood have finally now agreed to pay for all of it bar the rodent damage, but only after more than two months without a car, daily chasing, and finally a threat to take them to the small claims court and the Motor Ombudsman. Calls and emails unanswered, no courtesy car, no compensation.

On the rodent damage they still say this is a "sales dispute", their refusal is final, and the matter is supposedly closed.

Paying up under threat of legal action is an admission the car should never have been sold in that condition. Approved Used is meant to mean inspected and serviced. Get an independent inspection before you buy here.

Customer service

Can't open fuel can with 70 miles range left. It happened on end of July, car still on a warranty. Glasgow Audi offered me appointment for December, total joke. Got it fixed myself with new part in 10 minutes. Apart from that it was keept in Hamilton Audi for 8 weeks in February with multiple issues. Only 3 years old Audi A8, 40k miles on a clock. Customer service is terrible.
