I enrolled on the Level 5 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with Association of Learning course in September 2025 and have worked hard to complete the coursework. I paid £420 for the course, so this experience has been incredibly disappointing.

Recently, every time I submit one particular unit for marking, I receive the same message:

"Our system has identified the possibility that this work contains content that may have been generated by AI (Artificial Intelligence)."

I have reviewed my work multiple times to make sure it is written in my own words and meets the assessment criteria needed to pass. I have now submitted the same unit four times, making amendments each time, but I continue to receive the same response without a clear explanation of what specifically is causing the issue.

Just to clarify, I have not used AI to complete any of the assessments for the course and all of my work has been written by me. Based on my experience, it appears that submissions flagged by the AI detection system are not reviewed by a person before being returned, as I have submitted the same unit four times and received the same generic AI warning each time without specific feedback. If a human review has taken place, this has not been communicated to me.

As a result, I have requested an extension because this has delayed my progress through no fault of my own. At this stage, I'm not feeling optimistic that I'll be able to complete the course successfully, despite paying for it in full and putting in a significant amount of time and effort.

My concern is that I may end up £420 out of pocket without receiving the qualification I enrolled for. I hope the Association of Learning will review my work fairly, provide specific feedback rather than a generic AI warning, and resolve this situation so I can complete the course.

Booking my course with Association of Learning was very easy and I received the online information quickly. There online site is easy to navigate round and I have just submitted my first completed unit, which again was a straight forward process.

I enrolled with Association of Learning to take the Level 4 Information and Guidance online course. Although the course was not due to start for another two months, they collected both the first and second direct debit payments in advance.

The course was scheduled to begin on 6 June 2026, but I received no communication or course details. On 5 June 2026, I had to contact them myself to ask for information. I was then informed that the course would not be starting and was told they were sorry that nobody had informed me earlier.

I requested a goodwill gesture to compensate for the inconvenience and poor communication. It has now been nearly a month, and I still have not received the £20 voucher that by the director of the company promised me.

Overall, I am very disappointed with the lack of communication, the handling of the cancellation, and the failure to follow through on what was promised.
